Welcome to GMK Shark Bait!
I got the idea for this kit while watching Shark Week on the Discovery Channel! The blues, teals, and whites of these majestic creatures inspired me to create this set. I tried to keep the kits as small as possible while still providing support for a variety of layouts.



HELP US ADOPT SHARKS!
Due to the theme of the the set, the guys at Kono decided it would be a good idea to give back by adopting a shark through The Shark Trust. I loved the idea, so I'm talking to each vendor about doing the same (I will be adopting sharks for each if they're not interested) for a minimum of 6 sharks adopted. Just a fun way to give back to the creatures this set was inspired by, and just something that I thought would be cool to do. Again, all credit to the guys at Kono for the idea.

Just looked up the set. I would say they're similar, but definitely not exact. In my opinion, they're different enough to continue working on this set.

If you want red for blood- go full blood red, not pink.

If you'll allow me...

ISO support right now is incomplete and needs revision. You have:
- No left R4 1.25U left Shift key (this is required).
- One accented ISO Enter key... yet there are mod-colored and accent-colored ANSI Enter keys. This is your call, obviously, but I'd put both ISO Enter keys, or at least the mod-colored one before the accented one.
- R3 \| key (needed for US ISO) and R3 #~ keys (needed for UK ISO).
- No R4 \| key (needed on both US ISO and UK ISO).

You must decide whether you'll have support for either US ISO (4 keys — ISO Enter, left Shift, R3 \| and R4 \|) or UK ISO (8 keys — ISO Enter, left Shift, R1 `¬, R1 2", R1 3£, R3 '@, R3 #~ and R4 \|). You could even have support for both at the same time (that would imply nine keys), but that's not really expected.

As you can see, the alpha support present right now means that the kit has incomplete "Atlantis ISO" support (being neither on one side of the pond or the other one), which is the worst option.

One other thing, also entirely subjective: I dig the medium blue / light blue scheme, but I find the white keycaps are a bit too bright (on the legends it's perfect though). If I had the set on my keyboard right now, I'd probably use the Blue Esc and Enter keys instead of the white ones... but that leaves the white-only F5..F8 keys as too glaring of an exception. You may want to consider adding a light-blue set of the keys F5..F8.

Thanks for pointing this out, definitely. I considered making UK ISO support a separate kit but ultimately decided to try to include it on the base kit. I’m not too familiar with other layouts, so I struggled a bit with this. I’ll definitely adjust them and post an update! Thanks!

Also I think instead of whites and/or reds you should do gray because sharks are usually gray and not white.

Interesting as in you like it, or don’t like it? I’ll include some of the darker teal keys, same as the mods, to replace those if people wish to use them instead.

Personally I'm not a fan. I really like the white on the ESC and Enter keys because the contrast is so stark it draws your eyes to that part of the board. It just seems weird having this big contrast at the top row that brings attention to the middle F keys. I think F5-F8 keys should match the alphas. That way you still get the break up in color between the F-key blocks, but it's not so stark and attention grabbing.

That said, what I do think could look really nice is a white spacebar. I don't know how much it would drive the cost of the base kit up, but maybe consider adding a second 6.25u spacebar in white?

Yeah, I decided to change the white f-row. Kits and renders will be updated today, along with a novelty key. I'm also planning on having a space bar kit with a white space bar, if people want it.
