I got a PM from vulcan on instagram and apparently there's 3 prototypes, each of which needs 2 weeks to fix the design and one month to manufacture.
Also, the sideglow design can only be made with special tools only certain manufacturers have.
Finally, to make the board as affordable as possible, the manufacturer needs to finish their major projects first before working on vulcan's.
Vulcan, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about anything.
Does this mean this project would be on hold for about a month and a half or so? I don't mind, just don't want to keep my hopes up that it might be next week and I'd be broke from spending too much haha. At least I could budget out some finances if there were a certain date announced
At best, yes, but am certain it is going to take longer. I could very well be wrong, but the way I interpret it is that each prototype takes 2 weeks to fix, and a month to manufacture the next batch would mean a total of ~10 weeks. Additionally, it is possible that there could be new problems with the next batch of prototypes, so we would have to go through the process again if we want to fix it.
The factory needs to finish their other projects, which we have no idea how long that is going to take, and if it is only what is currently in production, or if there is a queue. However long that is going to take, it is hopefully shorter than the time it takes to make a good prototype.
Finally, delays can happen for pretty much every possible reason and could take an unknown amount of time (points at espectro). Personally, I am willing to wait for as long as it takes. The way that the lighting is implemented is completely unique from what it seems, so I think it is important to have it as close to vulcan's vision as possible.
