I have some great news, the prototype have arrived and I 95% confirm it, there is a very minor problem that i need to fix, but it's very minor so there is no need to make sample again.

Group Buy will start very shortly, around desember or maybe january. and GB will be held by the one and only KBDfans.cn

edit: can @vulcan verify the case colours? according to the colours under features there are: Grey, Black, Navy Blue, Red, Purple.

however in the case color image there are black, silver, champagne gold, red, navy blue, royal purple

Will the navy blue follow the color of the hex code or the one in the render? I hope it follows the darker one from the hex but I am not sure if it is achievable in ano? Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know anything about anodizing, etc.

Colors : we are still working on it, so we cant confirm yet, but most likely it will be like in the image (has champagne gold), if possible add dark green and titanium grey

2. We have no sample of purple at the moment, im sorry  .. the factory said for custom color such as dark purple, dark green , champagne gold and red, we need to make at lest 20 prototype..

but these are the reference that i will give to the factory for the anodizing color

The colors look great! I still want the gold, but the purple and the green are my favorite shades of those colors as well! I wish this was not limited to 50 units !

Any indication when the buy will go live ? I really don’t want to miss this !

around this month or next month, if all goes well,

right now we are waiting for the factory to fix the minor issue (sandblasting the brass weight).. if the factory if the factory finish sandblasting it fast then the GB will start as soon as possible.

5. Does the estimate price of $190 include shipping cost? or just the price of keyboard itself?

1. I can't answer that now, since what i meant minor adjustment is the sandblasting proses and treatment.. right now it's still in proses and im still waiting.

2. After the sandblasting sample finish, KBDfans will determined when it will begin.. shoud be anytime soon.

3. Yes, no problem

4. No, it will require more time and more sample. I think this IC has taken too long

5. Shiping cost is not included.

sorry if this has been stated before, i haven't read through the whole thread. Does the hhkb plate support a split space bar?

this one looks really good for the price. going to try and grab a champagne one

I think rather than the plate, it's the PCB that would be the problem. As far as I can tell the DZ60 PCB only supports split space configurations with 1.25-1.25-1.25 mods on the left and 5 1u mods on the right (configs 9 & 10 on the diagram in the first post). With 1.5u blockers on the case, you'd be limited to layouts 13 or 14, neither of which fit a split space. I don't know whether any non-standard spacebar sizes could be made to work in a split configuration with this PCB.
