"BLUE CUBE" PS2 TO USB ADAPTER NOT WORKING
« on: Tue, 14 January 2014, 16:58:20 »
I have a windows 7 pc. I tried this on 4 different PS2 keyboards. Would work for a few seconds then stop. Windows would pop up error message. Used with and without a USB extender cable. Tried it in several different USB ports. Not sure if I need special drivers for the Keyboards?  I tried an old IBM keyboard which worked on an older XP machine with a PS2 port. Also tried on two Compaq keyboards, and one Generic PS2 keyboard.  Bought from Amazon.  Anybody else have this problem?

Follow up: It wasn't the "cube" but a faulty extension usb cable. I tried a much shorter extension, and the "cube" works fine.
But what a waste of time and space by all the comments regarding my  subject title in CAPS.

Could it be a counterfeit?  I've never heard of a fake blue cube, but who knows?

They are just a cheap Chinese product (try locating a  brand name on one), I doubt anyone would clone a generic/unbranded product.

I am commenting that I find it unnecessary to capitalize thread titles to make them appear obnoxiously more visible.

There is much documentation about the use of allcaps in print. I recommend anyoine interested in such things to read this article
Now that you'e made your point, we can all continue posting on-topic here.

Here's my take on it: I suspect there's some issue with your blue cube. If you have a good dedicated soldering / reflow setup, you can try reflowing everything: I suspect it's an intermittent solder joint, especially since the issues persist on so many different setups and environments. I haven't ever used a blue cube (or even seen one) but I'm told they're usually nice. If you want to switch vendors, I have had good experience with the ID innovations multimode USB adapter, as well as the soarer PS2 to USB converter (for a more DIY route)

Hope this helps!
