Exploded 65% appreciation thread
« on: Wed, 21 April 2021, 20:50:33 »
Why aren't there any good exploded 65% keyboards out there?  They're amazing, 65% is the best ratio of usefulness and compactness, and 75% look hella ugly with the two rows on top, and the little gap just highlights the different groupings.  What are your thoughts on exploded 65%?

Im getting bored of 65% recently after a few boards (tada68, just68,..), now I'm more interested in hhkb layout and alice layout

Personally not too big a fan of exploded 65, has a weird look to it although I probably wouldn't mind it if given the chance to buy a unique looking one.

Just too many 65s recently, we need more innovation if such a thing could exist

I'm actually trying to find a hot-swappable exploded 65% in white atm.. here's the rub.. I want iso layout support.

I think the aspect ratio of 75s looks just horrible; might aswell type on a brick.
TKLs are nice but I rarely ever need the F row.
60% is a nogo for me since I really need the arrow-keys and 2 keys above that for nav..

So imo 65% with actual separation of the arrow cluster is really nice.

Yes cramped 65 is booring and... unusable for some of us, but spaced one is rare.
