Milkyway Luna is inspired by the beloved Luna from everyone's favorite '90s series about the monster fighting guardian princesses of the moon ☽

The deskmats are lovely.

Just that the art gets covered when you put your keyboard/mouse/etc on it. So it might be better if you put it like off center or like in one of the corners.

Edit: Also might be better to pick out your favourite one instead of 3, since they are so similar imho.

Although it's true for design #1 and #2, design #3 is somehow different due to its more clean design. But at some extend, difficult to disagree that they look similar (my preference goes to the design #1 for the yellow/gold lines on the moon and the border).

For F and J letters, what is the strategy ? Scoop or indent (I didn't really see on the renders) ?

Love the colour scheme, even if it's a bit close to GMK Monarch. I'll second an f13 in the base kit and additional pink accents, but please keep the yellow! Good stuff

this looks less like Monarch than moon dust did to violet tendencies or gmk stealth to gmk dark and everyone lived with those other than people who want to get their post count up. They have different themes and different legend colors. furthermore, if latin alphas are available in each, I'll buy both.

This is all the criticism I can think of off the top of my head otherwise this set looks great! Excited to see how the reworks look! Also if possible can we move Alice support into the base kit

Spacebar kit seems really scuffed and there is no second B (not in hira or the spacebars, which imho there should be one in both.)
Also the first and second deskmat are pretty much identical except for the border and moon color. I personally would recommend sticking with whichever color you end up using as the accent piece (or keep both if you want to instead have an accent kit and have both pink and yellow accents).

Otherwise, it looks really cute. I like the colors and the novelties, and the deskmat art is very nice. GLWIC.

i love the deskmats! these are some clean renders, i like the colours chosen but i can't help but notice some weird things on first sight -

1. why so many of the same spacebars in base kit / spacebar kit?
2. why render on a pearl without any 40% kitting?

other than that this is looking pretty good. maybe reference some other gmk sets to get the kitting down, and make sure that if you render on certain boards, your kitting should actually have those keys as well.

Yellow is indeed the worst color in all of color history. I'm still getting this set, pink on purple is AWESOME. It's not like I have to use the yellow keys.

Update: Based on feedback we have modified the base kit and spacebar kit, we have also switched the Pearl renders with the AKI-S as we do not have a 40% kit and do not plan to add one.

Deskmats are being reworked currently and we are going to be adding another design

Would you consider hiragana subs in the basekit instead? The series is such an iconic part of Japanese magical girl genre that it would be more suitable, imo.

GMK Luna - 6/20/2021

Hello everyone, today we’re proud to announce big updates for GMK Luna.

Since you haven’t heard from us for a bit-this ones going to be filled. GMK Luna now has all of its vendors! Our group buy date has been estimated to be in July, and with that around the corner, we’re here today preparing for the official launch of GMK Luna. We hope you’re just as excited for this as we are!

Kitting
We’ve looked through lots of community feedback via our IC post, and our form. We noticed lots of repeating themes, and we’ve made some of those wishes come true!
Something which has been added is a new Hiragana Base Kit. A lot of you, unsure of pricing, really wanted this! With this, the previous Hiragana kit has been removed. If you haven’t already heard, we changed around some of the accents. However, due to some feedback on this, we’re going to add both yellow and pink accents to some keys in the base kit. We also will have a kit for 40s support, a highly requested kit. But that's not all, here are some of the minor changes made.

Small Kitting Changes
Due to popular requests, we are going to be adding a few things. Some of these changes are a 2u shift in the base kit, a mod colored ISO key, and additional accents,

Deskmats
Last update, we added a few more desk mat options so that you guys could vote on your favorites! For this group buy, we will be selling the top 3 most wanted desk mats. Our winners are the Pink Pattern Mat, the Luna Mat Yellow, and the Luna Mat Pink.

If your favorite was not picked, no worries! We look forward to selling more of these designs in the near future.

I really like this set! I'm usually not a GMK fan, but this is different enough to have my attention - love the look of the pink text on the dark alphas/mods, and the hits of yellow. I just wish the group buy wasn't in July, when so many other GBs I've been waiting on for years are set to run. But I'm definitely down for at least a deskmat or two.

Speaking of, had a question/potential feedback about the deskmats. I notice that on the pink Luna deskmat, parts of the clouds and some of the stars in the background are colored in with pink/yellow, but on the yellow Luna desk mat they aren't. Is that intentional? I feel like it would be better if they matched. I actually prefer the yellow, but like that the pink has that extra hit of color. (My ideal mat would have a pink-outline border and yellow-outline moon, but I get that I'm probably in the minority on that.)

As with many, Sailor Moon was a big part of my childhood.I really want to love it, but sadly, that particular shade of pink on the purple weirdly bothers my eyes, so I'll have to pass. Good luck though, the idea as a whole (especially the novelties) I love!

It's official in the Geekhack world too, now. The OP was updated in the beginning of April to say this has switched from GMK to MW.

You should run this set as GMK. I don't think MW is a good keycap manufacturer anymore after the recent string of debacles.
