Is that a cookie cutter PCB? Why are there smd rgb leds underneath if the case is aluminum?

Looks cool!
May I vote for a neutral color PCB?  Like white, black, gray?  Or are those mucho expensive?

Perhaps there are some holes to let the light go through like on the Orion V2 however that's not what I thought looking the pictures in the OP.

If we get to vote, I'd vote for this too; white or black would be sleek  :thumb:

When I bought my b.87, I remember  the other colors costs a bit more than green pcb. Maybe he just sent the green one for the prototype. I am hoping we get to choose other color as I would love to get the pcb in white again.

hojin puts RGB backlight on all of his PCBs, probably just for general use. Even if the board doesn't use it, he will still include it because it is something all of his boards b series and newer use.

Yeah, all of winkeyless' b series pcbs have those leds by default. They will not be useful with the Mira obviously  :))

Green soldermask is the industry standard, other colors will make you pay extra. And from what I saw on my research, black is the most expensive color. For prototyping green is as good as any oher color.

Will the silver type Mira look like the Orion V1 or the V2 in terms of materials?

Imo the v2 is much better looking.  I've seen some customs which have this rough kind of aluminum and others which have a smooth surface and I think the smooth surface is much prettier.

The V2 case in the picture looks like it's the unfinished prototype.

On that photo, V1 is finished, looks like bead-blasted type of finish, then anodized.  V2 is an unfinished prototype, surface is just smoothed after cutting out the shape from a chunk of aluminum, not properly finished, probably not even anodized.  Mira will be more like V1, unless Dr. Hubble decides to do a brushed finish, like what was used for Skeldon (it was beautiful).  I only hope the end result is a semi-gloss finish, not very matte :)

Invoices if people are pre-ordering, I would assume.

He has been accepting pre-orders for a while now.  The initial "Fab 57" have been spoken for, but you can still put down a $40 deposit as your pre-order if you're interested in helping to fund the prototype.

Okay, yeah; that's what I thought. I don't think there's even a price yet, but it'll be $400+, I believe.

There have been some design tweaks and other decisions made since that number was tossed around so it's anybody's guess at this point.

Yeah I think we'll all be interested to see what the price comes to. Especially considering all the manufacturing is being done in the States. $400+ would be fine with me though because this board is really unique and has so many amazing things going for it. Hubble has done great work in trying to bring innovation to the NA community.

Hot diggity-dog! You're the first so far as we know! That's great to hear! Here's hoping I don't get mine yet as my first choice definitely wasn't in the top 15.

Also remember that you cannot, for any reason sell your spot or number for any profit. If you do you will lose your spot and your $40

ooh i see. Also a question on the assembly service that will be provided for limited boards. Would we need to provide the materials (switches, leds, etc) or will they be included given that you pay for the cost of them?
If hubble / thechemist don't want to do switch tuning, I would be more than happy to help out, but I don't have many supplies anymore, but I could always get more.

I would not trust Thechemist at this point.

My buddy has over $500 worth of stuff at his place, and he hasn't responded in over 2 months. He is not the only person that this has happened too. He is holding at least 2-3 other forum members' stuff, and nobody can contact him.

In other threads, there already has been grumblings that something fishy may be up, as he's not responding to any method of communication (including phone calls).
