I like it, the only question is: why the gap? It's because I don't like butts seams. In architecture, if there is a change in material, there is usually something to mediate between it which we call a negative detail or we'd use a trim.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/AmCf6jv.png)

Great, another 75%!I was just typing this lol, looks golden on the weight but I think another key in that top corner would make this a fully endgame board, why waste a spot where a key could go with branding
not a fan of the logo though, smh it reminds me of the Louis Vuitton logo, which I think downgrades the design a little bit
It looks f***ing good even if I prefer 6 degree (or less) cases
However, If your keyboard supports 6U spacebar, why not 2*3U?
Perfect very much. The blue is just gorgeous. Count me in even if this turns into a private gb.
I should probably know this, but do you just use 6.25u stabilizers on 6u?6u has its own stab wires
How about brown with a brass logo?Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/1pRI2Vu.png)

like the design. but would like to see the logo replaced with a key.My reasoning for having the blocker has been added to the FAQ
I’m down for a soft pink and sage green if there ever going to be any of those colors. If not then maybe blue?Aside from the blue (might end up being blue/grey, not sure) I am wanting to have versatile colours so pink and green are unlikely sorry.
I'll be in on this if there is ISO compatibility, although, based on your reasoning for not doing split space bars, I don't imagine you'll ISO support. No ISO support, unfortunately. I'll add this point into the FAQ.
Would be super interested in a polycarb version if possible! There won't be a polycarb version because the internals is quite complicated and isn't meant to be seen.
I like the top and bottom of the board, but like a couple of others have said, Not feeling that "Gap" in the back of the board at all. It's here to stay, sorry. I've added my reasoning in the FAQ
Yep, I'd absolutely be in for the E-coat white.E-coating might not happen depending on the manufacturer. I'll provide an update on this as soon as I find out what options are available.
i'm really into the black one! is a red prototype planned?Although I've dismissed the idea of pink and green in the reply above due to them not being versatile colours to match with keysets, I've been thinking about a deep red as a possibility since Wilba seems to like red.
Hello, hello, hello! I’m also from NZ and fairly new to the mech keeb scene. It’s great to find out there’s a talented kiwi designer in the scene. Would love to support you and buy this as my first “high-end” customs! Thanks! If you are from Auckland, we have just had our second keyboard meetup and will be planning more events in the future. I like the layout design and the logo, but I don't like the gap between the bottom weight and the case.As per the reply above, I've added my reasoning in the FAQ.
Possibility of WKL version !? (with right blocker as well)This subject has been touched on in the FAQ. Also, I'm not sure how your right blocker works so I'm curious as to how you'd achieve it. Do you have a KLE?

How thick will the poly plate be?1.5mm but it will be stiffer than usual due to how it is mounted.
The logo is very cool, definitely liking the design of it. I kind of wish there is something on top of the right arrow key instead of pure empty space. To achieve that extra key above the right arrow key, the column would need to be shifted an extra 0.25u to the right which makes it inconsistent with all the other separators. Also, not having that extra key there would be make it easier to find, almost like on a tkl.
Can you tell us more about what you are trying to achieve with this keyboard in terms of feel and sound? Seems like you have a very specific goal because you talked about complicated internals and a new mounting method.
Love the design. The space to the right of the arrow cluster does kinda stick out (or maybe it's just reading all the comments lol). Could you possibly put in 3 LEDs on that space?

The empty space doesn't bother me, but to your idea, I think 3 LEDS arranged in a triangle or upside down triangle would look cool there

I finally got around to making a GH account just to follow this. Count me in for blue. I think the current shade is perfect, blue/grey doesn't appeal to me nearly as much.Wow, thanks! I'm flattered
Purple?Unlikely. Purple is a very flamboyant colour and is opposite to my preferences.
Recently, many people including myself bought GMK Wavez.I don't think I'm too interested in a deep blueish green colour but I can show you what Wavez would look like rendered on the black which I think would look ok.
Many people will want a Green Color keyboard.

I think I'll do a couple of other renders like the blue with GMK Striker since I've already made keycap models of Kuro/Shiro.
Will probably work on these over the weekend.
Let me know what else you guys are interested in seeing.
I've added a section for render requests.
The first one is of GMK Waves for ever9415.
I've added Metropolis and Hammerhead to the queue.
Dark Grey would be nice since purple wont be an option...Is black lotus going ahead? Its been in IC stage since I first started in this hobby.
I got a couple requests, could you mock up a black case with black lotus pls... And a dark grey with Taro if possible... tyvm

Looks brilliant. I know you and wilba have worked hard on the mounting design, but I hope that won't severely impact yield rates and QC effort. This exterior aesthetic and layout is so crispy, I'd be happy with a top mount.Top mount would probably be the fall back if this mounting method turns out to be bad.

If a vendor is involved, it will be up to them. If it's just me running, it would probably be a private GB of some sort since there have been people following this for quite a while.
I've added your request to the queue. I can do 1 max a day but will be going on a weekend trip with my family this week.
EDIT: Dracula render added. Kept the same lighting despite me saying that I was going to change it for this one because I thought it worked with the theme.

Excuse my ignorance, I'm a bit new to the community - but how exactly does a private GB work? Is the public not able to join at all? If so, how would one go about joining a private GB (if it comes down to that)?
This is definitely one of the better 75% I've seen. The only issue I have is how the product will be delivered. Hopefully finding a reputable manufacturer that will deliver the level of quality and standard that is shown in the render or promised is of higher priority. Producers like RAMA, Yuktsi, Keycult, Zeal etc are pretty meticulous of QC and yields great confidence to group buyers. Otherwise this looks great and hope to join one if I can!

RAMA would be an incredible partner for this. Not sure how that all works, but OP is from NZ and RAMA are in AUS, their designs both have similar elements. Think it would be a great collaboration. Maybe RAMA want to work on their own 75 though considering it's the only popular board they don't have with the U80 coming out soon.

Will the logo color/finish be an option? The renders seem to show a black logo on the black case, but I'm interested in how a silver logo would look on the black case. Not sure how I want to approach SKUs but I've rendered a silver logo on black for Serika.

Have you tried reaching out to Rama? I think their Foundry program is exactly meant for something like this no?It would be great but I don't think Rama works are interested. I'll contact them later as I'm currently waiting for a reply from one vendor already.
Out of curiosity, did you consider shaping the bottom accent piece/weight so that it is in a straight line with the top piece, along the USB-port side of the top piece? Not sure if that explains that well enough to visualize it. The two pieces currently create a slight angle from the side view. To my eyes, when the USB-port side is viewed at an angle (as in the last photo of the blue render), the bottom piece appears to not be at a right angle with the table. The top seems to jut out ever so slightly. The first render in black (side view) makes me think it does actually make a right-angle with the table, but tell me if I'm wrong, and if my perception of it is strange!Yes, the weight originally was parallel with the top piece but I changed it to give it more shape.
Wow this is beautiful... Can I see a render with Laser SA on a black case and pink weight?I'm trying not to render anything that I'm not considering doing so I can only do either PVD black or plain stainless steel for the weight and logo.

I would like to see a render of Vaporwave but I'm not sure if it would look better on a blue board or a grey one.I'll exercise my own judgement then.
Taro, Modern Dolch, Red Alert, Mizu and Striker renders added.
I'll be getting the sets with legends that I've already made out of the way first and then do the ones with special legends such as SA Bliss and GMK Dots after.
Also having trouble finding codes for Black Lotus and there aren't any renders of it in normal lighting that I can easily pull codes from with photoshop.

It gives me something to do while I wait and helps me solidify the colours that I want to run. Red is probably out of consideration now.
Is the 7V on the front part of the weight? or is it a separate piece?Haven't fully decided yet but that may be case. At the moment, I'm thinking about funding the run myself rather than as a GB so I'd just order set combinations.
Are the color combo's of your renders the only combo's available (black/black weight, blue/SS weight) or will it be available in other/any combination? Will the 7V colors be tied to the same color as the weight?
I posted previously but I'm really interested in this board now.

If there are going to be set combos, personally would prefer black with silver weight vs. black-on-black, just for the contrast (but that's just me!).I get you. When doing the renders, I've found that the raw steel looked better than black PVD in some cases and it would be nice to offer a choice. This will be confirmed later.
There is also a dampening layer that gets cut up by any stabs. I've already lost quite a lot of materials for the enter and the left shift because of it.Will you offer a second option for an ISO PCB?There won't be an ISO pcb.

I'm not an ISO user, but I hope the PCB at least will have ISO support. Even if the plate is fixed and ISO users have to make their own plates, taking it out of the PCB seems like an unfair and arbitrary restriction.

As far as reasons to not include ISO go, this is one of the most arbitrary I've seen so far. You could include the switch footprints on the PCB and we'll cut our own plates and adjust the dampener, we're used to it.Vote no on ISO

If you have a fixed plate and having ISO on the PCB bothers you, then you need some help.
There are practical reasons to not include ISO in the plate and foam. Not supporting it in the PCB is outright hostile IMO.
Surely users can just cut this themselves if they want ISO? It's ultimately your keyboard, but not even putting ISO footprints on the PCB seems needlessly exclusionary.

Yea. Not an ISO user myself, but I do agree straight up not supporting ISO even on the PCB is a bit too extreme. That being said, I can see why a fix plate is beneficial tho, so totally agree if gok wants to do a fix plate with no ISO support.
In that note I think there should just be one single layout supported.I should say for my girlfriend and me.

As stated from the beginning, this is a keyboard that is tailored for me first and foremost. This means that I will be min-maxing towards my preferences which I know is selfish but designing things that I want is pretty much the only thing keeping me in this hobby.

Feel free to veto this but I'd love to see a render of GMK Space Cadet on blue. Not sure if the difference in the shade of blue between the mods and the case would be distracting.Do you know what the colour codes are? I can't find them on the IC or the GB pages.

Will you be able to put together a price tag for the board after the prototype is good to go? I’m stoked for this but there are just so many others things to look at that are coming to us latelyDon't worry, it couldn't possibly cost more than your first born son and a packet of oreos.

LOL my opinion is irrelevant, I'm just the trace monkey. The PCB is navy, though...
Deep red case with GMK Burgundy :eek:After doing one render with red, I've sort of convinced myself that I won't be offering it since it doesn't work with enough sets and it didn't look as good as I thought it would on the one set that I thought would be perfect for it.

Any plans on having silver?I'd only do either silver or grey, not both so I'll probably hold a poll for a couple of colour options. The only 2 colours that I'm definitely doing are the black and blue.

Would most like to see a blue/grey case if that's still being considered. :DI'll try doing some test renders. If I like them, I'd consider it as a possible option along with grey and silver.

Were you able to find out if the vendor that you ordered the current prototype from offers a white/e-white option? That would be my first choice if available (and I want to believe there are others of the same opinion).
Very interested in this! Need to replace my Keycool 84...Yes, it will be an unbuilt kit. Maybe some things like the weight would be screwed on already but that would be about it.
Excuse the newbie question but these would be kits, right?
Yes, the manufacturer can make e-white.

Renders are looking great, but GMK Black Lotus has black alphas with purple mods, not the other way around.Oops :-X
Is split spacebar support thinkable for the pcb?Even though I use split spacebar for my work keyboard and I find it very useful for CAD, I don't want to support it for this keyboard because I think that the spacebar mounting and footprint is the most important when it comes to designing the mounting system so I don't want to complicate things by needing to add 2 more switch and stabiliser footprints.
would be awesome if there was hotswap
What are the color options for PVD weight?Just raw polished and black PVD for the weight and logos.
Also, do you have an estimated price range yet?

Black board + black weight look really classy. Love it. But still interested in the blue color as well.
Could you please add a picture of blue board + black weight? I'm trying to imaging that in my head for a while..

Everyday I drop in just to see if there is any update. Super, super interested in this!Other than me doing more Renders, there won't be a proper update for another week or so until I get pics from the manufacturer of the prototypes.
Everyday I check in to see if SA Bliss has been rendered :(Soon, I've been in contact with Minterly because Bliss has some custom legends for the mods which I didn't want to draw from scratch.

Hi gok,
How does the Dampened plate over wilba.tech leaf-spring PCB-mount affect typing experience? I.e. feel and sound?

Hi gok,
How does the Dampened plate over wilba.tech leaf-spring PCB-mount affect typing experience? I.e. feel and sound?
Well, nobody knows how Thermals leaf-spring mount feels, or how the dampened plate of the 7v feels, as neither of them actually exist yet. So, based on pure speculation, the dampened plate will probably feel... like a keyboard, but dampened?

RedSuns GMK Red Samurai on black or red plsss. I just realized today is the last day to order the keycap set from drop :confused:I'll try to get to this today. Red is out of the equation now but I can do black.
Definitely interested. I'm really liking this layout, except maybe the size of the right side Alt and Ctrl. Though those sizes are represented in most keysets I guess. If the 1.25/1.5 mismatch is your issue, you can do a 1.5/1/1.5/6/1.5/1.5 bottom row.

I don't think any of the Red Samurai sets will fit the 7v? I'm gonna wait for the full re-drop.

kuro/shiro and handarbeit renders have been added requested.
I've asked Oblotzky for the colour codes for Oblivion and I'd need to ask Zambumon for the Jamon so I'm not sure whether I'll end up doing these 2.

It was nice to be able to see various renderings. As soon as I am satisfied with the product. It might require more than one round of prototyping because the mounting is quite experimental.
When will GB begin?
I'm not sure if you're still doing render requests, but GMK Peaches n Cream on a white 7V would be amazing! That's probably the colour combo I'll go with.Added to the queue.

GMK First Love on black, perhaps? As much as I like that set, I think people already have a good enough idea of how that would look based on the Black Lotus render.
Nautilus Nightmares on white?I'm having trouble getting colour codes from Zambumon and Nautilus Nightmares is pretty particular so I might not be able to do this one.
I’d like to see how the green pops against the white.
But you already did Handarbeit for me, so this is more of a suggestion than a request. Maybe others would like to see it too?
I just wanted to say props to Gok for being so incredibly accommodating to everyone's render requests.

I've added a whole raft of renders but I've removed Space Cadet from the queue as it would take far too long to make the legends.
I would truly like to see E-white on Stainless weight with Gok Kuro Shiro keyset if you are able to get this in the queue, as I feel it may look better than the E-white & blank combination. My intention is using these together if possible :thumb:This is already done.

Are we going to be able to mix and match PVD finishes and case color as we please? Or will there be specific combo to choose from. 100% in on this no matters what though. Great board you’ve got going on there.I think the easiest way would be to have the raw polished weight and logo in the base kit and then have options for black PVD or extra weights and badges but it is something I'll need to discuss with the vendor.

Hi Gok. Is there a story behind the name 7V?
7 is a special number for me & my partner. And V is the first letter of her initials... So I'll be buying two (one each!). This will probably be my last keyboard purchase (I just have too many and got to stop somewhere... For now at least).
Hopefully we get grey as an option as it matches quite well with keycap sets from your renders.

My SO also has V for a first initial. As for the significance of "7" I guess I'll just make some story up to justify getting this board "for her". ;D

The way I understand it is that this is a 75% board, and V is the roman numeral for 5. So 7V = 75. Just my guess though.
Army green or olive green would look super nice too with the black PVD weight

As lame as it is, that is correct. I wanted something short and that I could work with graphically to create a logo and it just happens that my first name starts with V also.

Would it be possible to get GMK Phantom and Deep Space renders? :DI've stopped taking render requests, sorry. Phantom is also notoriously hard to capture properly.
When can I buy? Can't say for sure yet but I'll be sure to update that information as soon as it is confirmed.
What platform will you buy on that time?
Can't tell whether or not this has been answered but when is GB projected to begin?Difficult to say because it might take a few goes to get the mounting design to a stage that I'm happy with.
Is it possible to get a render of Dracula on white? There's one with black already so if not I guess I'll just use my imagination hahaSince I've already made the keycap assets for this, I can do this for you since it wouldn't take much time. I think dracula would look much better on black or grey though.

7V- designed by gok
This is a keyboard that has incorporated some of the theories that I've wanted to test based on my experience in architecture and experiments with my previous design (Chiwi60 with Doyu Studio) into my version of the 75% layout.
The aim of this interest check is to find how many people are interested and to find vendors that may be interested in fulfilling this project as logistics would be difficult since I am based in New Zealand.
In the worst case, I would be turning this into a private Group Buy and would be fulfilling the keyboards myself.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/5xc1r1j.jpg)

FAQ
Why this layout?
I wanted to provide a similar amount of functionality that a TKL would bring but in a more compact form. Everything apart from the main alpha cluster has been separated to be able to navigate it easier but still be within easy reach. The top right corner has been blocked because I found that you had to move your hand a lot to be able to reach it (I would be using my index finger for this key). All separations are 0.25u for consistency.
Will there be a WKL blocker version?
I probably won't be adding this option for a few reasons. First is that the design is catered towards my personal preferences and I am a WK user and I don't want to deal with an SKU for the machining and lastly, I don't like the look of uneven blockers (Dixie did good with the Bauer layout).
Will there be a WKL 7u layout or 2x3u splitspace?
The layout below was considered but I opted not to include it because it messed up the footprints on the PCB due to the overlaps and I only want to provide one plate.
Likewise for splitspace - the 2 inner stab holes overlap the centre switch mount area on the PCB.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/yGM3PDV.png)
How about ISO?
As with the above, I've opted not to include ISO support because of how it messes with the footprints for ANSI and as selfish as it sounds, this a design that is tailored to my personal preferences and is optimised for that.
Will hotswap be available?
Sorry, only one type of PCB will be available due to its complexity and it would also split quantities which would affect pricing.
Why the gap between the top and bottom?
It is to avoid a standard butt-seam. In architecture, if there is a change in material, there is usually something to mediate between it which we call a negative detail or we'd use a trim. Also, I was aiming for a detail where the shadow line merges into the cutout for the USB port as per the below.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/45KaRjg.jpg)Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/91qADlj.png)
What colour options will there be?
I don't want to have too many options since it complicates an already reasonably complicated board so I am thinking of 2-3, maybe 4 max unless a vendor steps in.
I am currently thinking of a navy or blue/grey and off-black. The third colour is a bit of a toss-up and depends on whether the manufacturer can do e-white + PVD. Some sort of grey is also being considered.

I'm in for grey. Already ordered Oblivion 6u kit special for this boardHave you gotten closer to choosing the colors for the cases? or is it still up in the air?Black, blue, white and grey are confirmed, silver and blue/grey are tentative. I'm still trying to get the manufacturer to confirm the number of colour variations that we can have.
I just noticed that it seems like some of the e-white renders have silver badging and some have black? Is this still undecided or will it be an option or something? Really hoping to get an e-white case with the black weight and badging to match. This will need to be confirmed with the vendor but I'd like plain polished stainless steel to be the base option and the black PVD is an optional upgrade + the option to purchase additional weight/logos.
Something else I've been wondering. I've never used a 6u spacebar, and I've also never seen a 6u stab for sale anywhere. What is the solution for 6u stabs?6u wires are a thing. Doyu Studio sold official cherry ones and you can get some 6u wire from KBDfans.
Stainless steel would look super clean with a matching logo :DI just noticed that it seems like some of the e-white renders have silver badging and some have black? Is this still undecided or will it be an option or something? Really hoping to get an e-white case with the black weight and badging to match. This will need to be confirmed with the vendor but I'd like plain polished stainless steel to be the base option and the black PVD is an optional upgrade + the option to purchase additional weight/logos.
Can't tell whether or not this has been answered but when is GB projected to begin?Difficult to say because it might take a few goes to get the mounting design to a stage that I'm happy with.
gok, thanks for taking your time and effort to make this possible. I just had a few questions.
Will we be able to choose the color of the logo? That black on black looks fantastic, but I'd like a similar option like white on white. Especially on the white, the black logo may clash with particular keycaps like the upcoming peaches n cream. Would be absolutely amazing to see a brass option as well, but I'm not sure how feasible this is.
Any chance that the grey will be a dark grey? I apologize if it's rude to mention other keyboard designs, but omega60 has a dark grey version that's missing in a lot of our collections. I think it would look fabulous with a black logo.
Ofc, these are just suggestions. I wish you the best. Thanks!

Have you gotten closer to choosing the colors for the cases? or is it still up in the air?Black, blue, white and grey are confirmed, silver and blue/grey are tentative. I'm still trying to get the manufacturer to confirm the number of colour variations that we can have.
I know you previously described that the plate on the back will probably be silver SS as default; will that remain the same with the 7V logo?Yes, both the logo and weight would be plain polished stainless steel by default.
Any ETA for prototype pics? So excited for this 🙄I've been communicating with the factory and the prototypes have only started being worked on as of yesterday due to them finishing up prior obligations. Shouldn't be long before they have some quick snaps for me.

A lot of influx of new users just posting what they can/want when they see what they like. That's all.
Just entered the keyboard community and I love 75% keyboards, and this one caught my eye sooooooooo frikkin quickly. Hoping I can afford this!

Start saving up now! Seems like the GB will run within the next couple months, and they usually last about a month as well, so you'll have some time to afford it :)

Is the mounting style the same as the U80 by RAMA?Similar array of components but this is more of a PCB mounted board and is overall quite different.
I commented earlier in the thread about how much I love this layout. It's so perfect! And it's a beautiful board. Been wanting a 75 percent like this forever. But I just noticed that the plate is polycarbonate - that might be a deal breaker. Polycarbonate just sounds and looks so awful to my ears and eyes. Any plans to give an aluminum or brass plate option? Or, release a CAD file so we could take it to local machine shop and have an aluminum one made?I've ordered both aluminium and polycarbonate plates to test. I'll see which I like better. I might even try a half plate.
Number of Units? The way negotiations are going, it will be an unlimited GB.
This still looks to be the case.Number of Units? The way negotiations are going, it will be an unlimited GB.
Does this still look to be the case? Very interested in joining this one, and digging that it will be VIA-configurable. I'm fairly new to the community, and I don't have much time outside of my professional life to pick up QMK right away.
Also, could you clarify your "aims" with the case (testing PC plate, mounting system, etc.)? I'm curious if they align with my own preferences, such as sound and feel. Tried combing through the thread because I thought I read about them somewhere.
Very curious on an estimated price point (sub $300 the dream...)I don't know what the final price will be but I can say that it won't be sub $300.

Regarding your second query, I am after a soft bottom out without having crazy flex in the middle rows and a deep, muted sound.
I think this has become a grail board for me already, i hope the price tag is small because i am not winning the lottery any time soon...

Been keeping an eye on this one for a bit! Any update on the arrival of the prototype. My apologies if it was already asked! It looks like I'll be replacing stainless steel with silver pvd brass because there have been issues with warping.
Sorry if I missed the info in the previous posts.TBD for both queries. Everything is a moving target at the moment.
Is there a rough estimate on when the GB will start and how long afterwards to deliver?
I am planning my future purchases based on this :)
It looks like I'll be replacing stainless steel with silver pvd brass because there have been issues with warping.wait, so you're saying that currently the manufacturer is Matrix?
I could change manufacturers but I like the finish and anodising of Matrix boards.
I've been posting some teasers on my Instagram but the gist is that the top, bottom and logos have been machined (I guess you could say the stainless weight has been as well even though it's failed) and they are doing the brass weight now.
The PCBs have arrived and they look gorgeous.

Will do. Work has been hectic so I was waiting for the weekend before I took some better photos of the PCB under natural lighting.Been keeping an eye on this one for a bit! Any chance you could post the teasers somewhere as well? It seems like you only posted them on your story. I've been spam refreshing this thread for weeks checking for updates, so I'd love to see the teasers. I just started following you on instagram, but can't see any stories you may have posted...

I really like it!
So many people are expecting to buy this keyboard.
Of course I am also waiting for this keyboard every day.
And I have some questions about this keyboard.
1. Is there one color for logo and bottom plate?
2. Can I purchase more than one person?
3. Can anyone participate and succeed in the group buy period?
4. Can I buy multiple PCB boards in case they fail?
5. If the logo and bottom plate have different colors, can you purchase more colors?
6. Is E-coat suitable for electrophoretic coating?
7. If you look at the PCB board, you can connect the switch to the position where the logo is inserted. Why?
8. Does the PCB board come with both quick swap and general version? Or is it only one of them?
9. Do the bumpons and screws used for assembly provide additional allowance? Or can I buy separately?
10. Do you plan to do r2, r3 after the first group buy? Or do you plan to put the remaining stock on the market?
So far I have been wondering.
I will ask you if you have any further questions.
Thank you.
I really like it!Answers above in red.

1. Is there one color for logo and bottom plate?
The options so far are PVD black or silver. Whether you can choose the colours for those separately will need to be discussed with the vendor since it would double the number of order combinations.
2. Can I purchase more than one person?
The vendor intends to run this as an unlimited GB so yes.
3. Can anyone participate and succeed in the group buy period?
Yes, as per the above.
4. Can I buy multiple PCB boards in case they fail?
Specific details still need to locked in but because this is a bespoke PCB, I'd really like to offer the option to purchase addtional PCBs.
5. If the logo and bottom plate have different colors, can you purchase more colors?
I've answered this question before but I've held back on putting it in the FAQ because it hasn't be confirmed but that is what I'd be aiming for.
6. Is E-coat suitable for electrophoretic coating?
I don't understand this question but the white is an electrophoretic coating
7. If you look at the PCB board, you can connect the switch to the position where the logo is inserted. Why?
There was room for a footprint there and I was tossing up whether to offer a top without the top right blocker/logo but I've decided against that (at least for this buy).
8. Does the PCB board come with both quick swap and general version? Or is it only one of them?
Only soldered
9. Do the bumpons and screws used for assembly provide additional allowance? Or can I buy separately?
Do you mean extra screws in case you lose one? I'd imagine there may be a couple of extras
10. Do you plan to do r2, r3 after the first group buy? Or do you plan to put the remaining stock on the market?
I'd like to focus on this round before I think about the possibility of future rounds. Regarding extras, that would be up to the vendor

Possibility of a carbon one? Or maybe share the files for people wanting to cut it?
I assume that there will be a daughterboard, and I have a couple questions about it.1. Pcb. I tried modelling it parallel with the table and it looked awkward because the cable head housing was getting close to the edge of the weight.
1. Will it be parallel to the pcb or to the table top?
2. Can we buy extras?

I wish we could have more of an idea of how effective that dampening pad is going to be like..With the way the keyboard comes together, you won't really be able to remove the dampening unless you cut the middle section out because the PCB would rattle around but you can go completely plateless.
Im assuming we will get a typing test with the prototype? We be cool to hear it with and without the pad in there. Thinking of going with tealios so thats why im overly cautious lol.
In and excited! My favorite board under IC right now. The layout is a perfect balance of aesthetic and functional. Will there be foam for in between PCB and plate? If you have not arranged something, could I suggest working with MKUltra to source plate foam for the 7V?I'll be testing both silicone and foam and I've already ordered the prototypes for it.
Hotswap would be godsent, but it ruins compatibility for many alternative builds
I'm definitely in, how do I receive notification email when GB goes live?
Is there a discord server to keep up to date with the progress of this board?
I'm definitely purchasing it if the price is reasonable.
Almost perfect.. I wish it wouldn't have to sacrifice a key to have del, home, and page up/down.

Split spacebar is great for that.
Definitely interested in the blue with silver weight/logo at the top of the IC. Looks gorgeous.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. How would one have a split space bar when the provided PCB has only one switch for it?
Will there be a WKL 7u layout or 2x3u splitspace?
The layout below was considered but I opted not to include it because it messed up the footprints on the PCB due to the overlaps and I only want to provide one plate.
Likewise for splitspace - the 2 inner stab holes overlap the centre switch mount area on the PCB.

Damn, man. I've been a lurker on geekhack for years now, but this baby made me create an account. Love the design and the layout. Will definitely participate in the group buy once it's announced. You can check @gok101 on Instagram, but I think he said no more renders
The blue ano looks gorgeous, but I'm looking for a board to pair with GMK 8008 and the dark grey version would probably look better with these caps. If it's not a hassle, I'd love to see this board rendered with 8008 caps.
Cheers, man.
What's the latest on timeframe and vendor for GB? Also, has the prototype arrived now? Considering how long it's been, I'd imagine it has but perhaps there was a holdup. ThanksThere has been a lot of unfortunate developments with regards to the manufacturer.
but as this board looks so good its best that you aim for just the best quality.

I've since dropped usin Matrix lab for the manufacturing because they aren't able to process either stainless steel or PVD brass to an acceptable standard so that has put a 6 week delay on things.
I've already paid for prototypes with a different factory and the lead time is estimated to be between 2 to 3 weeks.
One positive from this is that the new factory is very professional and has good communication. I've used them before for manufacturing some brass Chiwi60 bottom pieces and the quality was top notch but I wanted to give Matrix lab a try because of their reputation.

So I guess this is an early 2020 GB?
Pretty much, or slightly later I would guess. If GB starts September (very optimistic) or October, I'd assume production + shipping to take at least 4 months (realistically more like 6). Which would put it around Spring 2020 (this is all just guessing on my part).

GBs take a while to deliver so it would be pretty safe to assume that you should set your delivery address to your Canadian one. Even then, you should be able to update your details if you email the vendor if the situation changes. There has been a lot of unfortunate developments with regards to the manufacturer.

Too bad to hear about things not working out. Hopefully things work out with the new/pld factory.
Tough to watch other IC's going into GB's and resisting them cause I love this board.
This puts me in a tight spot though cause I'm moving back to Canada from Japan near the end of this year so depending on when the GB happens and how production goes, I may have to change my shipping address or something. Any ideas if this will be problem gok?
Anyway, I think it's awesome that you're taking time and being picky to the point that you're moving manufacturers. That tells us you aren't willing to take chances. That attitude helps us feel better about taking a chance on your board. Looking forward to updates. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
Could we get a render with 8008 before the gb ends?

gok mentioned earlier that there will be no more keycap renders. There are a lot on the OP already.
Indeed a lot of renders, but not that much love for SA keyset :/ .. I’m not fan of GMK feeling while typingThere's a render with SA Bliss FWIW.

Ahah I saw, one for how many gmk ;)? The ratio is quite hard :p !Yeah, it's mostly GMK - probably because all the hottest releases are GMK. There is an SA Laser render too, tho.
Just making sure, this GB hasn't been started yet right? I'm interested in this but not sure if its already ended or just haven't start.
Do we have a price estimate? No, but it's been hinted that this will be on the premium side. Make of it what you want.

Well considering the word 'PREMIUM' now often means $500' this one is gonna hurt.
damnn i am in for this. btw, is there any more website where you post updates or Geekhack is the only one? Thanks! Most probably here: https://www.instagram.com/gok101/
Hi there,It's 18mm high on the short side, 35mm on the tall side, 143mm deep and 322mm long.
could you please send us dimensions of 7V?
One clacker requested sleeve for this keyboard
Thanks a lot!
Perhaps I missed it, but I didn't see it addressed:Probably not.
Will there be a limited edition/special edition offered as well.. maybe along the lines of a stainless steel version?

this looks so damn gud, if this doesn't get 1/person limited I'll get three! even if it turns out private, I'm in no matter what price :thumb:Just a question. Im new to groupbuys, looking at 3 atm. Can you explain how a private groupbuy typically works? I understand public where they go live and it's FCFS but I don't really understand the process for private ones as I haven't really seen them yet. Thanks!

Private group buy typically means friends only. You will not have a chance to buy it unless you are personal friends with the designer/runner.

I understand public where they go live and it's FCFS but I don't really understand the process for private ones as I haven't really seen them yet. Thanks!

Private group buy typically means friends only. You will not have a chance to buy it unless you are personal friends with the designer/runner.

Why would there be a public IC if he planned on running a private GB...? I'm not sure where this private GB idea came from but it doesn't make any sense.
I really don't want to miss out on this one.here or goks instragram account
When and where would I be able to purchase this when its ready?
What's the best place to get notifications for this?

What's even going on with this keyboard, seen it on here for awhile but hasn't been updated for awhile now. Just wonderingOnly a small amount of boards have shipped. Rose Gold parts have been been delayed, but no updates on why the other colors are taking so long to ship or why small batches are being sent to Zeal.

But to answer the initial question, Gok has been posting some updates on his instagram.
What stabilizers does this board use?PCB mounted stabs
The board is fantastic  Congratulations!yeah I also think the same about that logo; the onl way to avoid it is use black on black or white on white
One thing keeping me off is that "7V" logo (sorry, forgive me).
I must say, will never understand that kind of "design decision", but fortunately, this is only my perception ;) if people love it - I respect that! ;)

Still haven't seen anything coming down the pipe that looks as good as this board. Needs to come faster!!Manufacturing has finished and they will be sending me the package this morning. I guess I'll receive it sometime next week.
Ah, the blue in the renders was what caught my eye with this design.Still haven't seen anything coming down the pipe that looks as good as this board. Needs to come faster!!Manufacturing has finished and they will be sending me the package this morning. I guess I'll receive it sometime next week.
One thing to note is that they weren't able to produce the blue I want for the prototype since the colour mixing produced a lot of defects so they have substituted it with a very navy instead that they use for another production run. I'll be asking for a preproduction check after the gb closes as well colour swatches for the GB.
Ah, unfortunate with the blue. How do you think you'll proceed with the blue? wow nice update, the plate look a little bit off since it doesn't have any extend part to mount on the housing, right?Correct. It needs the switches and PCB to locate it.
Mmmm that black looks hot. Will you be getting in swatches for the white color too? Or is it not offered by this new factory?White is pretty straightforward and people know what to expect but I'll see if they are willing to provide swatches for all the colours.

The plate looks very interesting - really curious how it will work in the end.I'll need to talk to the vendor about having an EU proxy. May be possible because we will have a Chinese proxy since it didn't make sense shipping to the US and back to China.
Any updates on prices / vendors ? Really really hope on a EU vendor / proxys - as i‘m tired of high shipping / taxes.

So the plate mount will work similar to the mount on Wilba's Thermal? The theory is similar but execution is very different. The thing I'm worried about the most is whether it works out as intended because if it requires rework, I'd require both a new pcb and bottom piece.

Black color + black weight are so gorgeous. If only I could get black screws as well :pStainless steel will be the default but I think there are some stores that sell black screws online.
Anyone here who thinks that blue case, black accents is the way to go? ;DEven though the proto blue is totally off, I can take a pic of this.

Any idea about the pricing or what vendor is running this? Hope this thing is around $350 or less.
would it be possible to see a render with dsa or kat milkshake on a white board?Milkshake has special legends that Biip made so no.
Is there any latest pricing estimates so far from OP himself? I gotta save my money early before going into this, and im going all in.No pricing yet. I try not to give estimates because there are costs that still need to be worked out such as packaging + handling. I will be leaving this up to the vendor.

Would we be able to get the silver blocker badge even if we are planning to go with the black pvd weight? Or are do we have to go with the black badge?I think the way I want to do it is that the raw polished steel weight will be the default and the PVD is an optional upgrade.
The blue doesn't look too bad imo, though its not as similar to the render version. I'll wait till the finalised version of the blue is shown before I pick a color I guess.I agree that the blue doesn't look bad at all but it's not the type of blue that I want. With grey and black as options, the prototype blue isn't different enough to be warranted as an option.

Nooooooo. I like the blue, render or prototype.. :(
But color won't deter me from joining this GB.
Excited for the proper built board.
Build stream when?
How customizable are the options? Can I choose polished logo with matte black weight? :DHmmm maybe. It will be up to how options can be handled under shopify. There should be provisions for purchasing additional logos and weights though but I'm unsure whether you can mix and match to the degree that you are thinking of.

It will be more of a build album rather than build steam since I don't have a particularly good PC nor camera.

I hastily assembled that one and the plate/pcb isn't seated properly. I have another photo somewhere of the black with GMK caps where although it also hasn't been soldered in, the plate is aligned with the blockers.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/5U36Zif.jpg)
hi, i was really looking forward to this GB, 1 sample from Matrix was cool
on the second sample with keycaps, I noticed very large gaps
will it be so? I understand they are without stabilizers on a space .. but could take good photos not from the side

Its funny that you mention this. I recently purchased a E7-V1 from another user on mechmarket and what you outlined is the same thing I notice right now. Perhaps its this specific layout?Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/5U36Zif.jpg)

I'd say that this layout makes any misalignment more obvious because the separator around the arrow keys steps around.

So I have both keycap sets you used and just put them both on. I see what you mean. The hammerworks caps make it extremely noticeable. The WOB made it better. The space between the enter key and up arrow is the only place where that gap area was unchanged when switching between keycaps. Im not sure you if your prototypes show that. Its like only my enter key is lifted, weird.yeah I agree. Still my favorite layout =D. Just dont look down at an angle lmaoIts funny that you mention this. Using EPBT exacerbates the issue because of how the caps sit higher than GMK. You can get around the issue by designing taller walls but it will make GMK look sunken in if the walls are too high.
In my photo of the blue, the right side of the whole PCB/plate is actually lifted so it is incredibly wonky around that area which means that the PCB probably wasn't sitting in the mounting recess because i screwed the top and bottom together.
Yes, please have an AU/NZ vendor! Show Oceania some love
Added some new photos.Looking good, thanks for the update!
I'll need to check with the vendor about proxies but I want to have the design confirmed first. I am looking to make some adjustments to the design over the next couple of weeks.

I know this has been brought up before, do you think it would be possible to tighten the gaps around the edges at this stage? I think it would really highlight the premium lookShow Image(https://i.imgur.com/zUewsbO.jpg)
I think the photo you sent has it a bit too tight and the gap is even smaller that the gap between keys.
It's already very hard to remove keycaps from the 1u escape and f13 keys but I could possibly tighten it up like 0.1mm which you may not notice. Something else I can do is raise the walls and reduce the inner chamfer size marginally.
One thing to keep in mind is that the photos are shown with epbt keycaps which sit higher and are also slightly smaller than GMK caps.

What are the measurements of the board?
Any idea when this might kick off?
Even that prototype blue does it for me.That plus the silver or maybe even a rose gold for the bae
Really look forward to the GB soon!

There is time to save though because I'm in the middle of tweaking the design to tighten tolerances in certain areas and to make it easier to build.

Is e white still on the table as a colour option? And will it be possible to buy multiple weights?Yes to both questions and I'll probably be doing E-white for the next proto.
If this already been answered, I apologize but there are 700 comments and I might have missed it. Is there a time frame when this is expected to run? Approximately how long do we have to save up for it?No timeframe. Gok is still ordering prototypes, so it might still be a while before this runs.

Great, another 75%! 👏
not a fan of the logo though, smh it reminds me of the Louis Vuitton logo, which I think downgrades the design a little bit 🤔
Hi. I'm super new to the keyboard scene but this is a dream build from what i can tell! I have a few questions (apologies if they have been answered in the prev 15 pages of thread haha)
1. Will the PCB allow for QMK customization or something like it? I have a mac and want to be able to utilize it to the fullest
2. Is there any plan to make a polycarbonate version?
3. Will the group buy be unlimited, or will there be a limited amount sold?
4. Will the sale be announced on this thread or through a separate website?
Hoping for a sub $300 price tag lol, maybe with an unlimited gb the price could get that low. Cheers

1. see pg 1: PCB is QMK compatible. I doubt that will change at this point
2. see pg 12: probably won't be any special editions in other materials, although there might be PC plates
3. see pg 10: plans were to have an unlimited GB but that could have changed by now
4. sale will almost definitely be announced here and on gok's instagram https://www.instagram.com/gok101/ (https://www.instagram.com/gok101/)
pg 10: price won't be sub-300.

Interesting, so it looks like the leaf spring is on the pcb instead of the plate. In general how does the leaf spring feel on the board? There is a huge difference between the 2 builds I've done.
Pretty sure this is the closer fit you can get if you want to use these keys. If you mean an higher wall, well that would be great, if you just mean closer, believe me this is already too tightI won't

Is there a specific name for this type of layout? Or is it completely unique? Asking so that I can look up other keyboards that may look similar, with the staggered arrow keys. Thanks! It's a 75% but with separators and an offset arrow cluster.
Made an account on here just for this...absolutely stunning board!
How do I get in on this group buy? I'm a total noob... not sure how this all works.Right now it's still in Interest Check. Once everything has been tweaked and finalized, it will go into the Group Buy phase where you can join in.

So how long does this stuff generally take from interest checks to group buys to having it in your hand? I'm feeling impatient and might need to pick up something while I wait for this. (I feel like this is how it all starts haha)
Okay I red Model "F" and my ears perked up. I must know more!https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=79141.0;topicseen
I love the dark blue one but it says that it wont be produced... how come?

Too close to black and not the proper blue that Gok wanted.
Could you throw up a render of the black one with GMK Taro? Asking for a friend. Also, A Special Edition Black 7V with either Rose Gold/Gold/Chrome Finish/Polished Brass would be insane. Badging included of course. Just throwin it out there. Can't wait for this.

Unfortunately he's not taking anymore render requests
Crossing fingers for a sub 400 price tagHope so too!
is there going to be a sound test video any time soon?I don't have a microphone so any recordings would be so far from reality that it wouldn't really tell you much.
Expect at least 6 to 12 mos after GB closes. Checkout some old threads to get a general pattern. Unlimited GB is great news! Very excited for this board and can't wait for it to drop.I won't be ordering a prototype in grey but there are renders of it already under the requested renders section in the 2nd post.
Looking forward to color options (a render/prototype of gray would be awesome if that's happening)
Hey, gok. Thanks for putting up the model showing the mounting method. So if I'm looking at this correctly, the thing that's usually the mounting plate won't actually be attached to the chassis in any way. It will be held by the switches, which will be soldered to the PCB (with a foam layer in between) and the PCB will be isolation mounted with protruding "tabs" connected by leaf springs? Is this correct?
If so, are there any worries about the durability of this kind of setup? The whole weight of the assembly and the force from the key press will be distributed to the chassis through thin leafsprings made out of fiberglass (or any other PCB substrate).
I've never seen this kind of mount anywhere else. What sort of feel is it supposed to provide? How much give do the leaf springs have? Are they going to be hard-limited when pressed down by some sort of bottom element? What sort of switches would best benefit from this kind of setup?
Sorry for bombarding you with questions, but this is very intriguing.
What exactly does the plate do, when the pcb is mounted ?
Still struggling to understand the mechanism ;)
thanksWhat exactly does the plate do, when the pcb is mounted ?
Still struggling to understand the mechanism ;)
Using a plate will increase stiffness significantly. This is similar to how flimsy a cardboard box is when open compared to how stiff the same box is when closed and taped.
With this mounting method for 7V, you can plateless for a very soft feel (PCB is soft, mount is soft) or with a plate for a more solid but cushioned feel (PCB+plate is rigid, mount is soft). The softness of the mounting method and PCB+plate is hence independent of one another.
Anodized Black looks amazing so does the white, even the blue isnt bad! Love the design and branding....im usually not one for branding but love this logo.
Any chance hotswap with LEDs/RGB possible? I would spend a pretty penny. Look forward to the final renders.
Am I the only one who sees the arrow keys not aligning right in the prototype pictures? Seems like the right/bottom side has more of a gap.On the blue one, yes. The PCB was bowing in the middle which was lifting the right side and is part of the reason why I've added mounts with a stronger clamping force for the revised design. Shifting mounts closer to the edge also helps.
You are correct that the plate isn't mounted directly to the chassis.(https://i.imgur.com/04FIWSg.gif)
The PCB isn't isolation mounted, there are poron pads on the top side of the mounting leaves to take up any tolerances when clamping down.

OK, I think I get it now. Very intriguing indeed. Thanks for the explanation. This actually sounds very cool and I hope you're planning on putting up an exploded view or maybe even an animation of the mounting method when the GB starts, because it's very unique and might catch a lot of people off guard. Maybe some cross-sections would help explaining it, too. Just a thought. Can't wait to get this, still.
1 vendor, Unlimited GB
is it safe to assume at this point that he is working with Rama foundry for this one?
#1 Using same leaf spring technology as Thermal
#2 Unlimited GB
#3 Mute kit-ish as u80 and m65b?
But I don't remember Rama using SS in their previous GBs, that can be the first time the manu offer this kind of service
Otherwise,
the only unlimited vendor that came to my mind could be Kbdfans, but I doubt it
#1 I heard they are moving to in-stock cases rather than unlimited Gbs
#2 SS is not a cheap product to manufacture
#3 This looks more like a high-end board rather than a solid low to mid-tier as they usually do
Or third option is an already established vendor who is someone that looked at the increasing number of purchases and wants to offer a new service with unlimited Gbs to go along that way

Are there any plans to release this in a polycarb or acrylic version?? And if not, are you planning on making the files to the pieces public in the future? Thanks!! Looks amazing btwNo plans for polycarbonate or acrylic versions. The only parts that I'd consider releasing are the plates and the logo.

Idk if its asked before, but have you ever considered for alu or brass plates?I've considered aluminium but not brass because that is way too stiff. I've got aluminium plates but I like the sound of polycarbonate more.

Would you consider offering them, regardless of stiffness? I think that is one point of a keyboard people differ a ton in preference :thumb:
(...) people should just let a keyboard designer design their keyboard to meet the aesthetics, sound and feel that they prefer.Such a statement seems a bit counter-intuitive to the nature of interest checks, depending on how absolute you are. I get it, cater to the masses and it's generic. Cater to yourself and it's niche. At the end of the day people vote with their money.
Furthermore, this case construction is unique, so asserting that brass would sound/feel better than any other material is pure conjecture. If I did assert such a thing then obviously it's conjecture. I have no clue, that's why I'm asking. Every case is unique to some degree, yet some offer a multitude of options. However, reading through the conversation again leads me to believe that there are some technical issues rather than aesthetic, that leads the author to dismiss brass. So I'll leave it at that, and carry on looking forward to future updates.

Heck, I'd much rather prefer a groupbuy with as little options as possible, than one where everyone gets their personal preference fullfilled. Much less variables for **** to go wrong.This. I’m trusting Gok to pick the best for himself and I’m sure that regardless of what his decisions may be, I’d enjoy it.
That said, I do hope the white color happens, I've still got SA By The Sea waiting to go on a white keeb and this would be perfect.
If I were to purchase a GMK keycap set for this board, would the base kit suffice? Or would I need to add on any extra caps? I'm asking due to the unique layout of the board. Thanks!

Do we have an estimate as to when this will go live?It depends on whether I am happy with the new prototype or not so I'd prefer not to say at this stage.

Any ETA when the GB will start? late Dec? Early Jan? Next week? lol

not sure if this was asked/answered before but can you run this plateless (just the leaf spring pcb)?

yea i was pursuing to design a plateless leafspring pcb on poron gaskets for a bit then kinda just scrapped the idea but the very idea gets me NUTTT
I'm so hyped for this board I can hardly wait!! Any news on the e-white? I'm not sure if render requests are still available, but if so would it be possible to get GMK Mizu on e-white, as well as GMK moondust on black? The E-white prototype will be arriving on Monday. I'm not accepting any more render requests sorry.
Would there be a limit on how many a person can purchase?I don't think there will be.
Can't believe the finish line is in sight for the GB ;D

Have there been any further confirmations on colors that will be available? Any gold? Grey/dark grey? Not officially but black, E-white, grey, blue. I don't think I'll want any more than that.

From my understanding (asked this on Instagram) it will be a little lighter than the blue shown with GMK striker if that helps.Damn; thanks though for clarifying. All the color options are nice and safe bets, but I would've really liked something unique for this board. It's gonna be hard deciding.
Apologies if this has been asked many times before, any idea of when the possible release date might be?

I really like the board but is this mounting design really robust enough? I get that people want flex but leaf springs on a PCB...The leafsprings bottom out at 1.5mm so it shouldn't really deform easily.
For those who haven't seen the new pictures. They have actually been added to the second post in the thread as well. The resolution should be better than instagram's.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B6FHAC4n8bD/
Not sure this has been asked, but will this be an unlimited GB?The aim is for it to be unlimited.
Is the PCB for the board addressable so that you can change the keymap layout?Nowadays I don't think any kit that costs more than $200 is even allowed to NOT have QMK or similar.
I really like the board but is this mounting design really robust enough? I get that people want flex but leaf springs on a PCB...Can someone explain this to me? Why is there flex when it's mounted on a poly-carb plate?
That's not how it works. I mean even if it did, then polycarb flexes a lot, so there would still be flex. But this board is mounted on leafsprings that are part of the PCB. The polycarb plate is then mounted on top of the PCB, but it doesn't even contact the chassis. All the flex comes from how flexible fiberglass is (that's what PCBs are usually made of) and how much the leafsprings on the PCB give way, when pressure is being applied. There's also some poron strips between the leafsprings and the case.I really like the board but is this mounting design really robust enough? Flex is desired by some because it can make typing less fatiguing a lot of the shock is absorbed when bottoming out. That's not how it works. Thanks for the explanation. I guess I'm confused because I'm at a loss for why someone would want that.
I didn't realize this was how it was mounted at first, so I'm a bit less excited now. I guess I should read more carefully.
Hi,Hi. Get ready to feel the pain. I haven't yet built any keyboard, but I've already spent hundreds of euros on keycaps, lube, switches, stabilizers... And I'm still missing some stuff to build my first board (switch opener and soldering station). So yeah, make sure you're ready to spend a lot more than you first anticipate (also the shipping costs rack up a hefty sum).
just registered to the forum as I am getting ready to start with this hobby, if I can afford it I guess this will be my first build it looks gorgeous!
Don't forget about soldering irons and all the other stuff that doesn't immediately come to mind when starting. Will GMK screw in stabilizers work for this PCB? Also, how many and what sizes of stabilizers will I need for this board? Thanks!!Yes, any pcb mounted stabilisers for cherry style switches will work. You will need 2 or 3 x 2u stabilisers depending on whether you use split backspace or not, plus either a 6u or 6.25u stabiliser for the spacebar depending on the bottom row configuration.

I'll be talking to the vendors about the possibility of including the 6u wire into the kits since it seems a bit harder to source.I like the 6u space bar option, but seems like good 6u stabs will be a challenge, you have any good idea where to find good 6u stabs? Will GMK screw in stabilizers work for this PCB? No, it’s mentioned in the OP that hotswap won’t be an option.
If you do include a 6U stab wire, something that works with the zeal/everglide/durock stabs would be ideal. Certainly would push me into the 6U layout camp.A 6u stab wire works just like a 6.25u/7u in any cherry/MX stab. It's just of a different length.
Hey,
I will most likely get one cuz its one sexy keeb.
Is it still unconfirmed that it will be an unlimited GB?
will the pcb be hotswap?
Im very interested! Where is this in the process now? Where do we sign up?
Will you consider supplying dimensions for the pcb, and plate files, so that those of us who want 7u wkl are able to get it?If they became public an someone decided to get a 7u going for this I'd 100% be in on that... That's really the only thing that this board is missing.. The logo I can deal, but being a wkl7u boi, I was really going to miss my wkl + long spacebar haha
Either way, definitely interested! Beautiful board

Not Sure if you're still taking suggestions but I've seen this come up a couple times in this thread and I also wanna throw my vote in for a rose gold logo and bottom plate option. Awesome looking keyboard

Been looking into this keyboard more, and I was wondering if there will be an option to purchase an extra PCB, as I think I'll be using this keyboard for a looooong time (until my wallet recovers at least).Yep. I think it would be good for switching builds and I hate desoldering.
do we still not have a date for the GB? its been quite some time now?I'm still in the middle of making some changes and I won't be back from my holiday till the 6th of Jan.

Is the anodization color and the metal finish going to be separate options from one another? (Will I be able to choose black anodization with polished stainless steel finish for the accents?)
Just bought GMK Dark to put on an all black 7V.

Imma copy your idea ;D
This will be my first big buy for a keyboard. Looking forward to it! Checking in everyday for when to buy.
Sometime in Q1 is the expected date.
That’s a long range, but as it’s technically Q1 now you could get excited and hope every day that today is the day it comes for the next 11 weeks or so.
Personally I’m thinking later in the quarter rather than earlier, assuming no issues with prototypes etc.
How about ISO?
As with the above, I've opted not to include ISO support because of how it messes with the footprints for ANSI and as selfish as it sounds, this a design that is tailored to my personal preferences and is optimised for that.
Just bought GMK Dark to put on an all black 7V.
Imma copy your idea ;D

Good. Gooood. Let this aesthetic flow through you.
i want this!!!!!
maybe some hot-swap action? :D
Not Sure if you're still taking suggestions but I've seen this come up a couple times in this thread and I also wanna throw my vote in for a rose gold logo and bottom plate option. Awesome looking keyboard
I'll be placing the order for the final prototype today but it probably won't arrive until March due to the factories shutting winding down for the Chinese New Year break.
In the meantime, I'll be getting quotes for everything so that we can tally up final costs.

Oooooooo much excited!
This is literally the only 75% I've ever been interested in.
Custom orders can be a nightmare to deal with from a logistics perspective and I want to keep this group buy free of complications.Oooooooo much excited!

Can you make a custom backplate for this with Tony Tony Chopper on it?

Are different logo colours available? White with Gold 7V logo looks mint.PVD has a high failure rate so I'd like to keep the options down on it. Silver will be the default because its raw stainless steel.
Apologies if this has been noted somewhere, but what's the pricing going to be for the board? Is there a limit to the numbers in the GB?

Did you buy multiple sets or what?
I think I've officially jumped down the rabbit hole for this keeb :-[Same here, brother. I was pretty happy with my VA85 prebuilt keyboard, but once I saw this, I knew I just had to build it. This group buy is taking so long, though, that I've already bought the FoxLabs Key65 and a lot of keycaps, switches, stabs, lube and other stuff in the meanwhile.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but will this support RGB at all, and per-key, or general back-light? Thanks!
Also love the look of this board, really looking forward to it.

Will there be per key RGB or backlighting?
There won't be any RGB or backlighting provided. The only way to get backlighting would be to solder your own in-switch LEDS.
Sorry if this has been answered already, but will this support RGB at all, and per-key, or general back-light? Thanks! Not a lot of these bespoke custom boards support RGB per-key lighting. I don't think the community cares for it too much and to achieve it, you need to pre-solder SMD RGB lights into every switch position. Also, this can significantly limit the layout options for the boards. If you really need RGB backlighting, you should try some of the more mainstream boards, that are in constant production (you'll find more at kono.store and kbdfans.com for example).
Looking forward to the GB! New to the community and this looks absolutely stunning! Are there any socials/discord I could follow along for the 7V?Gok has an instagram account (http://"https://www.instagram.com/gok101/") where he seldom posts updates. But this thread has been updated consistently, whenever new info popped up.
It won’t be much less than $400 if it manages to get that low, though my guess is it’ll be more. That’s fair. Still really excited for this!
@gok101 - will the polycarb plate be an okay match with holy pandas?I don't know what your preferences are and I don't have holy pandas but I personally liked using zealios in a polycarb plate more than in brass.
I don't know what your preferences are and I don't have holy pandas but I personally liked using zealios in a polycarb plate more than in brass.
If that's what you are concerned about then it shouldn't be an issue since this is a PCB mounted board so there is less stress on the plate. If you still concerned, there will be aluminium plates available as an extra.I don't know what your preferences are and I don't have holy pandas but I personally liked using zealios in a polycarb plate more than in brass.
I was talking more to the strength of polycarbonate, which I think is stronger than acrylic, correct? Asking because TX Keyboards warns against using Pandas with their acrylic plates:
Since the switch size is non-standard, the acrylic plate can be broken due to the pressure.
Hey gok, I'm eyeing a protective case for this board, any chance you've got any rough numbers for length, width, height, etc I don't want to buy a case too small...Earlier in the thread, I posted measurements of the case so that Mech Fashion could make sleeves for it. I don't have time to sift through the thread right this minute though, sorry.
The case I'm looking at buying (It's the TaehaTypes case ;D) has these measurements:
L: 16"/40.65cm
W: 7.5"/19cm
H: 2.36"/6cm
If you end up responding, thanks! Also good luck on finishing strong :thumb:
Hi there,It's 18mm high on the short side, 35mm on the tall side, 143mm deep and 322mm long.
could you please send us dimensions of 7V?
One clacker requested sleeve for this keyboard
Thanks a lot!Perhaps I missed it, but I didn't see it addressed:Probably not.
Will there be a limited edition/special edition offered as well.. maybe along the lines of a stainless steel version?

Do we have any sense of timing on this?I'm waiting for the final pre-production samples and final quotes. Fingers crossed for an end of March GB.

Sorry if this has been asked previously (were already at 21 pages) is this going to be a limited qty run?
Sorry if this has been asked previously (were already at 21 pages) is this going to be a limited qty run?
Just curious, baring and manufacturing issues, how long does the typical GB take from the moment it opens to shipments? 6 months?Highly depends on the GB. Some run for longer than a year. For this, I would hope between 6 months and a year. Seeing how popular it's becoming and it supposedly being an unlimited GB, I'm hoping the boards will be produced and shipped in batches, rather than just producing everything first and then shipping everything.
Sorry if this has been asked previously (were already at 21 pages) is this going to be a limited qty run?
If you use the search while you're in a specific thread, I believe it searches for your keywords within that thread.
But as badboy731 mentioned, gok said that things are pointing towards an unlimited GB. On page 7 (I did a little searching to confirm lol).
Are you still hopeful we could have the GB for this in march? Super excited. This is one of the best looking 75 percents I've ever seen, and I'm 100 percent in.A lot will depend on delays caused by Coronavirus, I've seen multiple things being produced in China get delayed. I'd rather wait 6 months now to get smooth production, than wait a year while things are being sent back and forth to get fixed (Kira80 ptsd).
Is it possible to get a render of GMK Modern Dolch Light on the E-Coat White?Gok has said he won't be doing any more renders.
I would personally not mind more time to save up for this.

Gok should start a discord group for this. This would be really appreciated.
Would we be able to put some Mill Max sockets in these to make them hot swappable by any chance?
Or just keep the information here instead of launching yet another discord channel resulting in no info here anymore... no thx.I agree. I dare say discord is only for those with spare time and humor for banter. As an information source it hasn't brought anything positive to the community.
Gotta agree on that one, checking discord channels every few days for relevant information is pretty annoying.Or just keep the information here instead of launching yet another discord channel resulting in no info here anymore... no thx.I agree. He’s already mentioned he won’t be taking more render requests. There is a decent amount in the OP already.
Is it possible to get a render of GMK Modern Dolch Light on the E-Coat White?I'm not doing anymore renders sorry. Janglad asked me for the render files of the 7V though so maybe he will be doing one.
Does the black pvd mirror scale well with quantity? Not sure if it does but all I can say is that one offs in PVD are very expensive.
I really hope the grey color is finalized. It looks gorgeous!Grey will be on eof the colour options along with the rest of the colours listed under the details section of the main post.
(just saw my question about unlimited gb was answered. Very happy about that! :D)
Gok should start a discord group for this.I don't have time to maintain a discord. There is an unofficial channel on the dailyclack server though where people discuss things about the keyboard and meme.
Wait, where is the link to the IC form? I'm completely missing it.There isn't an IC form. This is the interest check and after nearly a year of development, we are just waiting for the final prototype and costings to come in before we start the group buy.
Are you still hopeful we could have the GB for this in march? Super excited. This is one of the best looking 75 percents I've ever seen, and I'm 100 percent in.It's a bit touch and go due to the coronavirus but I am HOPEFUL.
Are there any sounds tests available for this board?I have a proper mic now so I should be able to get something recorded within a couple of weeks. I just need to figure out how to configure it so that it doesn't capture too much ambient sound since it's a condenser mic. I also need to figure out how to boost the volume without adding noise.
What type of mounting system will be used for this board? Please read through the main post because it has the answer as well answers to other queries you may possibly have.
Hey Gok, I know you said that you put in an order for the final prototype before the Chinese New Year celebrations started, but I was wondering if you've been able to get it even now, with the coronavirus and all going on.
Good luck with the rest of the project!

In the reply he made 3 posts above yours he mentioned he was still waiting on the prototype (and final costings).
i noticed that the asian vendor is "deskeys". A Google Search indicates that the only product they sell are topre silencing rings.Deskeys is run by kevinplus who has worked with Ai03 on projects such as the Polaris and the KBD8X. He is based in China and has the advantage of being able to do QC at the factory.
Has anyone used them before and are familiar with them? Where are they based?
I started this hobby in mid dec and I have been dying for a layout like this. I will buy this the moment it becomes available. Just please make it happen because I see this project was started almost a year ago

Oh sweet summer child.... Realise that developing something from scratch just takes time. I get it, you're new to the hobby and you're eager. But group buys take time. You're gonna be doing a lot of waiting if you're sticking around.
is it out yet?No, still waiting on the final prototypes to arrive.
Did they mention if this was going to limited or unlimited run?Somewhere in thread, gok said gb will be unlimited.

I'm saying this assuming your comment was tongue-in-cheek... Not really competition since the 7V is probably going to be more top-shelf quality. KBD Fans is definitely strong with budget/value keyboards, but I have yet to see them put out a top-tier product. That being said, the KBD Fans board looks pretty cool and I'm sure it will be sold at a very compelling price!

Oh I definitely wasn't meaning to be disrespectful in any way, I think both boards will be great in their own right! However, it is nice to see this layout being offered in more places (esp if KBD will be more affordable).
But that being said, you sound pretty confident that 7V will be much higher quality than whatever KBD comes up with. Is it a general consensus that one-off group buys are much better quality than something a keyboard company can offer?
Keep checking back on this everyday for updates lol. Can't miss out on this one! It's gorgeous and causing serious internal turmoil about which case/weight color combo to go for
Is there any news regarding the final color options? I remember last it was mentioned that the blue in the proto won't be the finalized color.
Do we already have confirmation on how the GB is going to run? (fcfs, raffle, auction, mix)None of those. Unlimited GB through vendors.
Is this keyboard designed as having Poly plate originally in mind?Switches play a large part so if you are after a deeper sound, I'd go for something like cherry black with poly plate.
I am trying to decide to see which plate will give a slight deeper sound.

And any idea what date to mark in calendar? :)
The blue case is my favorite. I love dark blue, it is probably my favorite color.
It's been so long that I'm actually tempted to fly down to NZ to Gok and see what's taking so long. 😅
Coronavirus probably ****ing up a lot of timelines. I'm in a Kickstarter that closed just before the outbreak as well and it's just delays after delays because the product needs to be produced in China as well.
Fairly new to the keyboard scene. If I were to install my own RBG LEDs into this keyboard, would that customization/configuration also be controlled by QMK? Or is there a set function key and commands for lighting settings? Thanks!

Any chance you can share pictures and/or a video of the construction, since you have a prototype. I’m curious to see how the pcb and plate mounting works but the render you shared doesn’t make it all that clear to me.It is held in place by the switches and held up to prevent unclipping by the damping layer so you can build this completely plateless.
The pcb has wilba leaf spring (that I can see) and rests on some sort of gaskets. But what the us the way the plate contributes here? Can’t really figure that out.
Edit; oversaw the link to the build album. Question regarding plate remains though. Is it only there to support the switches? Is it in contact with the case as well?

Switches have a nub which holds it tight to the switch plate and because the plate doesn't have any fixing points to the chassis, it is possible for it to unclip from the switches if you somehow push down on the plate really hard. The plate doesn't shift due to being held in place by the switches and the switches are locked in place from soldering them into the PCB.Switches have a nub which holds it tight to the switch plate and because the plate doesn't have any fixing points to the chassis, it is possible for it to unclip from the switches if you somehow push down on the plate really hard. I get your meaning, so the plate is held against the top part of the case by pressure from the dampening layer. I assume, looking at the build album, that plate will sit inside the machined out part of the top case to prevent it shifting at all?
@gok101 Is there any chance of a brass plate option being added? Would really like to pair some Holy Pandas with a brass plate on this!I won't be adding this as an option but I will eventually be releasing the plate files so you can get it cut in the material that you desire.

What is the material used for the dampening layer? It's poron. I prototyped silicone, rubber and poron and I chose the latter because it allowed for the most flex and was also the most forgiving in terms of tolerance and fit. Plus it doesn't smell.
Unlimited GB through vendors.
Crossing fingers for a sub 400 price tag

According to the discord group, he should be announcing the group buy date and price hopefully this weekend some time. Fingers crossed.
That’s be just great. Jules is coming out and while I like it and even want it, 7V is a priority. Announcing early will make it easier to plan :)
- Timeline: Group-buy starting 10th of April 2020
- Price: $450 USD plus shipping for default kit (polycarbonate plate and polished stainless logo and weight)
Is the EU proxy confirmed to be 450euros?Europe is always a bit different because of their tax laws. I'll need to get that confirmed with Mykeyboard.eu

Roughly how long would it take from the end of group buy phase to the shipping phase? When could we expect to receive the 7V? Thanks !No one can answer that really. Any estimate could be wrong, so expecting 6-8 months at the very least would be reasonable.

Awesome, and when will EPBT SAV come out ?
I am hyped, but the price tag might sway me away, gotta work harder now lol.Same here...450....still might get it though.
Do we have max # of units per each color or overall? It’s open GB, so no limits
Definitely getting one, but guess I'll have to proxy it from NK, because every package from them to Canada gets hit with duties and customs and costs like 25-50% of the package, especially if it's UPS that's shipping it.Would to hear others experience on this because if that's the case I may go through Asia then have my friend from Japan ship it to me.
I don't think the price is that high, the OLED screen itself is like $4-5 and I'm not sure what the pricing on brass is but this is going to have PVD coated stainless steel. On top of that the machining and QC needed for the 7v logo can't be ignored either.I am hyped, but the price tag might sway me away, gotta work harder now lol.Same here...450....still might get it though.
Satisfaction GB was 399.99 with brass plate, brass weight, rotary encoder and OLED screen though. Just sayin....
Is Deskeys a reliable vendor? They don't seem to be all that active, their latest update was from December.Very valid point, I would love to hear some info on Deskeys.

Any pictures of the final dark blue color that will be sold?
I plan to buy a black chassis with a black weight, so I wanna know: what are the benefits of PVD coating compared to mere polishing?
What's the difference between polished SS and PVD coated?Raw polished steel is silver. The PVD coating adds colour to the surface which is black in this case.

Hey Gok, any reason only the PC plate is default? IMO PC plates don't really work well with tactile switches as it's really flexy. We will need to figure exactly how this will be structured as there are limitations with shopify. We will see whether we can have it as an option but if we can't polycarbonate will be the default.
Can ofcourse buy it as an add-on but was curious.

Oh I see. So the silver that's on the white 7V is polished steel and the black with the black 7V is PVD?
Can we order extra PCBs AND daughterboards?

Will it be possible to get the logo and weight in different colors? As in a black logo with the polished weightWe are still working through what will be an extra, what will be an option and how things are broken down.
Love the board gok, any chance for a canadian proxy? Those duties hit us hard :(All vendors have been announced and are final. Ordering from Deskeys might be the best option.

The weight has a lot of exposed edges rather than just 1 face that they need to prioritise to have a good finish.
I had a rough estimate for a sandblasted brass weight with clear-coat for cost comparisons and it came out a fair bit cheaper. This is correct.450 is the base price. I assume it would have the polished stainless steel weight and not the PVD coated option.Definitely getting one, but guess I'll have to proxy it from NK, because every package from them to Canada gets hit with duties and customs and costs like 25-50% of the package, especially if it's UPS that's shipping it.Would to hear others experience on this because if that's the case I may go through Asia then have my friend from Japan ship it to me.I don't think the price is that high, the OLED screen itself is like $4-5 and I'm not sure what the pricing on brass is but this is going to have PVD coated stainless steel.
My opinion might be skewed a little since I just bought a $500+ board though....Is Deskeys a reliable vendor? They don't seem to be all that active, their latest update was from December.Very valid point, I would love to hear some info on Deskeys.
Regarding the Deskeys query, kevinplus who worked with Ai03 on the KBD8X Mkii and the Polaris is the one behind Deskeys.
I trust him to do a good job as he did great work QCing all the Polaris units himself and that GB sold like a thousand units I believe.
Are there going to be any video of the build or a build stream?
Do you know if the $450 base price only for blue chassis or does that include the other colors as well?450 is for the case, polycarb plate, pcb, poron form, polished stainless steel weight and badge.
Any pictures of the final dark blue color that will be sold?

Upping this so Gok can see as well. I'm really leaning towards blue if its a decent shade.

Is there a limit to the GB or is it unlimited?
Thanks for the fast reply!Wait, is there going to be a second run of the satisfaction 75? Bruh
Exactly what I wanted to hear.
So Jules and this ahead...and then building bank for satisfaction r2. My wallet is crying.

are the boards just made to the numbers ordered, or will the vendors be ordering extra?
i'm keen but given the economy (as a contractor) i'm hesitant to pull the trigger on something like this when I know money is going to be tight down the line..

There won't be a proto of the final blue but I will have a Pantone colour. Keep in mind that anodised colours can only get to a certain level of accuracy and won't match the Pantone 100%.+1 on this.Any pictures of the final dark blue color that will be sold?

Just wondering if someone was able to answer this question. If I were to get this board and solder on in-switch LEDs, are the LEDs toggleable? or are they on all the time? Thanks
Sat75 will be more expensive, Upas has mentioned in the CannonKeys Discord. Increased taxes are primarily a reason.
I wouldn't expect the Sat75 R2 to run until much closer to the end of the year as well, if that impacts your ability to choose between the 7V and Sat75.

Isn't the Satisfaction 75 limited to 100 units like the last round?
The white is an extra cost?I would be expect the black pvd weight alone would cost at least a set of GMK keycaps.
Will it be the usual $20-30?
Also, is it likely that getting a black weight for a blackout 7V will be about that same cost?
Gok mentioned the black PVD was significantly more expensive than the SS, so I am guessing that it will be much more than $20 for the black weight.
Hot swap for this?Only solderable pcb.
Apologies if this was already asked or mentioned - are there/will there be any photos of a prototype for the grey version of the case? The last prototype Gok is waiting for is grey.

So does this board have a 7u, 6.25u, or 6u spacebar? Looking at the first post, I am still confused.Looks, at least to me, that it can support either 6.25u or 6u depending on modifiers.

Thanks. I hope that is the case. I was just in the groupbuy for GMK Apollo and I didn't get the spacebar kit. It would make me sad if this board needed a 7u spacebar.
It does.
This board layout supports 6 or 6.25u.
Apollo comes with 6.25u and 7u.
Ah I see. Thank you for answering me. :DApologies if this was already asked or mentioned - are there/will there be any photos of a prototype for the grey version of the case? The last prototype Gok is waiting for is grey.
Im just wondering, how are you coating the stainless steel to make sure it doesnt scratch? There will be a PVD coated option for the weight, at additional cost.
Thanks
Heavy WK user here too. Thank you for focusing on functionality a wee bit more than pure aesthetics. After all we don't want the 7V to be just a mantle queen, we need to type on it once in a while.
Sent from my smartphone which I have. Cable, charger, everything.
As someone who is very interested in this board and potentially will join the group buy, what is the difference between the 1.5mm Polycarbonate and aluminium plate? I've been doing research to understand the difference as this would be my first custom board. Poly is softer, less harsh, while aluminum is harder. I've been lurking around this forum and the r/mechanicalkeyboards subreddit and it seems like most people do customs with brass plates. So why does this not have it? What are the advantages/disadvantages to Poly and Aluminum?
I've never been apart of a keyboard GB before, only cap GBs.This can highly, highly vary. Some group buys go up to a year or longer, though that's rare. For a GB this size, I'd rather think 8 to 10 months realistically. Delays almost always happen...
What's the turn around time after GB ends for production? Is it usually 6 months or so like GMK caps?

Usually, turnaround time is longer for keyboard GBs when compared to keycaps. With the current outbreak and semi-functional production, most, if not all production were probably delayed and pushed back a few months. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a year.
Is there any updates on pvd pricing?
I need to clarify something. If I want two sets 7V PCBs (each with different switches and caps) for easy swapping, I only need an extra plate and dampener right? I don't need an extra top?

Correct. You can see in the second picture on the first page of this thread how it all fits together - the top part sits on top of the plate and PCB, so it's not permanently attached.
I really like this keyboard. I’m getting the GMK ashes keycaps (https://store.projectkeyboard.com/products/gb-gmk-ashes) and was wondering if anyone had a good 7V color recommendation for this keycap set. I’m not too good at envisioning these things.I think it would look clean on the gray case for a monochrome look. Next choices would be black, then white.
I’m relatively new to these group buy thingies. Is the kind of thing where I need to log on at midnight to claim a board or will they decide how many boards to make after the GB period? For this specific GB, you place the order and the vendor makes the board after the GB concludes, given the total number of orders meet Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ). Other group buys may or may not follow this format.

Bit of a shame, PVD steel looked quite nice from the pics

What do you guys think about trying to polish the aluminum plate to match the logo and weight? Do you think that's a bad idea?Yes because anodising makes the surface harder-wearing and prevents the aluminium from oxidising. The plate files will be released so you can get stainless steel cut if you wanted it to match.
The black PVD weight and logo, only available as extras? Took a look around deskeys site, seems like this is the case. Just want to check if its a mistake.

I actually expected this. But that price though.. $160 for an extra weight... You can buy a decent kit with that price.
For those getting the e-white options. are yall getting the pvd black logo or weight?
I was thinking there will be a different kit for black PVD weight and logo from the start. Having extras are for those that want more options.
Gok has confirmed that all boards come with SS. The black PVD will only be available as an extra.
So Gok, you prefer PC plate or aluminum plate? Or does that really just depend on what switches you plan on using?
For those who have participated in group buys before, is it generally okay to NOT get a spare PCB? Or is it recommended to get a spare with your purchase?

Generally it is recommended in case anything goes wrong down the line. Without a spare, you risk the board becoming a paper weight if you spill anything on it etc.

February 2021 estimate shipping😭😭
Just to confirm, does the GB conclude on May 1st, 11:59 pm ET?Not sure if things are automated because the launch wasn't really.
Any news on when will this show up on mykeyboard.eu?They should've been live already but they had a bit of a misunderstanding. I'll check up on them again.

Does the poron plate go on top of the switches or below? I want to order 2 PCBs and plates but I noticed you cant order an extra poron on NovelKeys.
It's really annoying how on mykeyboard.eu you can't select the colour of the keyboard that you want similarly to how you can on NovelKeys.
When you go to pay & shipping you can put instructions - "Tell us anything we should know when delivering your order."
It's worrisome but I'm hoping they don't f*** up the order since it's not an automated process on keyboard colour selections.

Gok,
Could you please clarify if the blue case will be what you had originally shown in renders? The prototype blue that you had received, you had said was too dark and would not be accurate for production run, yet the latest renders and photos of blue case on the vendor websites all show a navy blue case close to the prototype you had received and not the brighter blue that is closer to Striker.
Thank you and great work! Glad we are finally here :thumb:
Gok,Should be around the same as thr latest renders included in the gb pages which is darker than the render with striker but lighter and more saturated than the prototype.

Which color would you choose if you had only one choice, Gok?
Is there a typing test of the keyboard by any chance? Not yet. Hopefully the final protos will arrive soon and we can get them out to some streamers. I find it kind of pointless if there isn't a point of reference for the test and somebody like Taeha who has done a lot of different builds and tests would be able to provide a better idea.
Man, that cost to get the black PVD weight...Yeah, it's pretty steep but it was hard enough to even have a PVD option after they found that they had to rework the proto weight 3x before it was to an acceptable standard.
I'm going to have to sleep on it.
What's the weight if we use PVD one?Do you mean how heavy or what the material is?

does anyone know if there will be typing or building demo? I am really curious about the new PCB design. How springy it will be.The prototypes have been delayed, gok has mentioned he's hoping they'll arrive at the streamer's place for the typing test by the last week of the gb.

Hey, gok. Are you making a Group Buy thread for this? I was puzzled to see we're still having this discussion in the IC thread, while the GB is already running.I didn't want to myself because I'm not administering the group buy but I guess I should. I'll do it tomorrow because I'm heading to bed.

Hey guys, gonna pick this keyb up but, what colour would match Modern Dolch Light well? I can't really picture it in my head but I am thinking white would be best.I think Modern Dolch Light will match pretty well with the white considering how neutral the color will be (in reference to the board) it will complete the keyset well but black is pretty neutral as well and I think that will go with anything
Thanks
