Not quite new, but hey.
« on: Sun, 04 November 2012, 21:56:29 »
Been lurking for a while now, just somewhat recently made an account(really wanted to get in on a poker group buy! :D). Prior to my purchase of a mechanical keyboard I used a Razer Lycosa, thinking it was the best thing since sliced bread, then I had some problems, my specific board was recalled but I didn't learn of this until years later and when I attempted to claim the replacement I got no response. Built my second computer and got a keyboard to go along with it. Currently my collection consists of a Corsair Vengeance which was my first foray into the realm of mechanical keyboards, a CM Quickfire Rapid with Blues, and a Poker with browns. Couldn't be happier with the poker, The Vengeance is nice and I love the reds but the design does not particularly suit my tastes, I also love the 10 key less layout but the blues on the Quickfire leave more to be desired. Anyway, I enjoy lurking and will most likely continue to do so for some time, occasionally chiming in when I see fit.

Thanks to everyone for entertaining me thus far!
And please, post pictures of your own keyboards. here if that is permitted. I would love my own personal stash of board porn to view at my leisure! xD

Welcome to Geekhack!

There is an entire forum for Geekhack Media wherein are threads intended for the posting of keyboard and keycap pictures.  Better to leave them there for everyone to enjoy :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Thanks, glad to be here! Hah. I've been reading as much as possible about everything keyboard in the past few days. This forum is such a fountain of knowledge!
