Best Palm grip oriented mouse?
« on: Sun, 10 May 2015, 11:09:04 »
Hello everybody, I'm in the market for a mouse that is oriented for a comfortable palm grip, I have medium sized hands. I'm playing a lot of FPS such as Counter strike and I need a mouse that has a very good sensor and build quality. I've heard good things of the Deathadder 2013, but I have also heard of build quality issues.

What about the Zowie EC2-A?

My budget is at a max of $70.

Hi,

For a palm grip with a good sensor, I'd recommend:
Steelseries Rival, Zowie EC1/2-a, or a FK1/FK2
The FK is not really palm-grip, your palm will just touch the end of the mouse.

I want to say Rival is the most fitting of an ergonomic palm-grip mouse description.
I plan to purchase one myself in the near future.

About the EC-A series, I haven't used them in person but I got the impression they're decent. The reason I recommend these mice is for the 3310 sensor, it's one of the most commonly used sensors right now for CS:GO for its great tracking.
You can compare the minute differences of the Zowie mice here.

One thing you should note about Zowies is that they use Huano switches instead of Omrons. I would choose a mouse  option with different switches if I had the choice, I think.
It feels natural after some time but it can still wear you out.

I think Deathadder '13 is OK. Sensor's a little bad compared to the 3310 though, and when I recommended my friend the FK1 he hasn't gone back since.
There's also the G400s which is decent but I wouldn't recommend it over the options up there.

Comparison of Rival vs. FK1

Here's the thing..

You probably shouldn't Palm grip..

Even if it's a palm grip mouse you're using.

Hold it as if it's a vertical mouse,   the pinsor to grip the mouse will be between your opponens-pollicis and your pinky.

This. I personally drifted away from palm and ergonomic mice for gaming.
Symmetric mice that doesn't force you to grip a certain way is best, I feel. Mine is a fingertip + claw hybrid.
It helped me with muscle memory a whole lot and I jumped 5 ranks since.

I'm looking out for the same thing, I haven't tested them but I have the Mionix Naos 7000, the Roccat Xone XTD and the Logitech G502 in sight.
