As standard it is backspace on my board....
Dipswitch allows you to quickly change that.

hhkb is basically a reduced size Sun/Unix keyboard and was modeled after that.

okay, but the HHKB is based on the Type 3 keyboard, so the Type 5 is completely irrelevant.
