No. This is getting to a point where some layouts would be used by one or two people.

No. This is getting to a point where some layouts would be used by one or two people.

For rare layouts, WASD might be a solution.  They support TKL and 104 sets in ANSI and ISO and will custom-print a one-off set of your design.  But they only have OEM profile ABS, and the weight/thickness is similar to stock keycaps - nowhere near the quality of GMK or SP.  Sets for ortholinear boards might still be possible; they used to take orders for custom sets built from their stock sizes.

Not ideal, but better than nothing for some.

I wasn't joking about Dvorak support FWIW

Btw, a R2 @' key would make it work for UK ISO boards.

Oh yeah this is missing a bit too often, was pleasantly surprised to find that key in SP sets.

I agree that this set is even better. Always wanted to try MT3 profile as I heard they were the bee's knees. Only bummer is no Micon modifiers this go around.

I heard from a friend, who heard from a friend, who heard from a very reliable source that you’ll be adding that R1 1.5u backspace to the 40’s kit after all. This brings joy to my heart.

Just received a second round of dyesub samples. Overall I'm happy with the results, I'll be tweaking some stuff and the final kits and renders will be posted this week. I might not be posting pics of these second samples as the yellow used for them is not the one we'll be using.

Here are some pics of the colors I've picked for MT3 Serika:

Can you post pictures of dye-sub samples even if the yellow is not correct or just white and black excluding yellow? Pretty please? 🙄

Hi folks,
I’m a newcomer to this stuff and want to buy keycaps for my birthday. Symbiosis is already sold out but this set also supports Colemak(DH). Yay ヽ(*^▽^)/
Could you tell me whether it will be easy to order it? Like do I have a week after announcement for that or are we talking about a day, hours or even minutes only?

Whenever I find an interesting set (especially with Colevrak/Typist variants) I only see ‘Sold Out’. Is that a usual situation?

It's going to be sold on Drop (formerly known as Massdrop).  They generally run one designer keycap set each month.  I believe they tend to start on the first Tuesday of the month (I'd go looking for this one on 8/6/19), and are available for almost a month.  You're going to have several weeks to place your order after it's made available for sale.  When the sale ends, they'll charge your card for it.  Do not use Paypal when you place your order; Drop tends to have payment problems with Paypal at the end of the drop, which can lead to a cancelled order if you're not paying attention.  A credit card is safer.  After the group buy period finishes, Drop places an order with the manufacturer, and we get our sets a few months later.  It'll be easy to buy if you order during the drop, and harder if you go looking for it in the future.  Drop will sell off their extras at a later date (in a "keycap recap" drop), but anything popular sells out very quickly.  Vote in this poll, and Drop will send you an email when it goes on sale:

https://drop.com/vote/MT3-Serika?mode=guest_open

It's normal for there to be lots of interesting sets out there that are sold out.  Those are group buys that already happened.

Hopefully with a yellow space bar option instead of offwhite since that's already in the base kit

Replying without quoting since I dont want to break that flow between Oblotzky and Zambumon...
This made me smile today, and I thank you for that... :)

Quick question for Zambumon though - Is the Serika Mt3 typeface different than GodSpeed MT3 ? lookin at the "Not final colors" prototypes you have seems to indicate so.
Is the beige key color same as the godspeed ?

MT3 Serika, not Serika MT3 [BRAND/PROFILE] then [NAME OF THE PRODUCT]. We don't say iPhone Apple or HD 6XX SENNHEISER.

Anyways, from the OP:

Custom font by me. I think there are over 150 custom legends, but it's probably more. Anyways, who cares.

Colemak DHm here. Finding matching legends for sculpted profile has been problematic, but so far all MT3 kits, SA Laser and now GMK Pulse have all offered full compatibility. The last one is live right now on drop.com, so you could jump on that as well.

What kind of homing keys are you using, scooped or nippled?  I would assume scooped, but the kit pictures don't actually specify (I only ask because /dev/tty had both, so there's a choice of homing molds in MT3).

Scooped. There are no nippled MT3 molds and the renders don't show nipples, so scoop is implied.
