I got them from widebasket on ebay, although he might be out of yellow:

It's pretty rare that he has Topre key caps in stock, so I sort of went crazy when I saw he had yellow and orange in stock.  After Halloween I think I'll put the stock white caps on my 104 RealForce and just use the yellow or orange for modifier keys or some other slighty less garish combo.

The 23U has pads for a 21U setup, which surprised me. I noticed it when I was disassembling the 23U to paint the plate red. I modified the plate for it and used 2u housings from other boards. The modified positions don't accept the retaining tabs though, the housings need to be glued in place, which isn't a big deal. You could still force them off if you needed, but replacing the housings is hardly ever necessary.

Yeah, of course they don't come in 86u or with HiPro normally haha. That was a fun project.

I've got the old logo one too. Bought it because it came with a JustSystems-branded wrist rest, but I decided to make an ANSI version as well. I still have the internals of both JIS boards though, capped with whatever was leftover and normal caps, put in other TKL cases and stored away.

Case is going to need a little RB love. :)

HHKB Hi-Profile

Cool: I'd love to try that.  Does it require any mod or is it just a matter of putting the caps on the keyboard?  Do you know if it exists for the HHKB JP?

You just put the caps from the 104UG on the HHKB. Without lube they don't feel as good as with the blocky high-pro stems, they rattle a little bit and don't have as smooth of a return. To have all the correct caps and for the JP layout you need the (look at edit) Nissho Hi-Pro I think it's called, it has the smaller spacebar and JP layout. I think it's the same board used to fill out the few missing caps on my layout too like the small right shift, but they are very rare unless you are in Japan so it doesn't bother me enough to spend another $2-300 just for 4 caps that are mislabeled and the wrong profile. The only one that looks and feels bad to me is the right shift and I don't ever use it, as long as all the alphas are correct it types very well.

EDIT: There's also the Realforce 108UG-JS that has the correct hi-pro keycaps to fill out the HHKB JP, it would also be the only other board I need to fill out the few missing keycaps on the top row and the Right Shift and FN.

I really like the Hi-Pro keycaps, I've tried SA briefly and the Hi-Pro cup your fingers more and with the raised edges you have to be a little more precise with typing. Getting my first SA set in December so will have to see how different they really are but I know of a few people who don't like SA and love Hi-Pro. I like the smaller legends than the usual big center font of SA though and it helps with the clean look of the HHKB.

I have noticed without lube they aren't as smooth as on the Realforce Hi-Pro stems that have the square bumper around The Topre stem. With a little lube they don't rattle on return nearly as much though I still think they feel slightly better with a shorter travel on the Realforce. I now use the black HHKB keycaps mainly and leave the Hi-Pro on the Realforce since I need a numberpad for work.
