[IC]The Peach - Full Size Custom Keyboard
« on: Wed, 26 April 2017, 12:38:47 »
Render: http://imgur.com/a/ERCmx

Hi Everyone, I'm here to introducing you The Peach by Revotech.

So the idea is a minimalist aluminium full size keyboard machining to perfection, these images post above is a un-finalized render but only small details will be changed, just tell me what you want to change. And here's the process right now:
+ Making prototype: the prototype keyboard will ready in 2 or 3 days.
 + Making PCB
+ There will be a lot of colors option for anodizing from the manufacturer but maybe we will make it 4 or 5.
They will come with few options:
+ Standard kit: Case and Aluminium plate.
+ Full kit: Case, plate and PCB.
We are working on the price but it will be around 350$ for the case.
FAQs:

1. Who's Revotech and why Triviumtek involved in this project?
 - Revotech is a new team in Vietnam, the team was founded by a group of Vietnamese pro-gamer and have a quite close relationship with Triviumtek. So The Peach will be manufactured in the same facility that making Triviumtek products and the GB will be hosted by us.

2. Do you have a PCB yet?
 - Yes, the PCB was developed and currently in testing phase now.

3. What would the MOQ be?
 - 10 and we're good to go. But if we can reach 20, it will be easier for your wallet :D :D :D

Though I personally am not a big fan of full size keyboards, I can't name a single full size board that is a Kustom that doesn't have something strange to it (no f-keys, 96key layout, etc.). Thus, I am a huge fan of this!

Case looks great, too.

Glad to see a fullsize finally getting a chance at glory. Any chance this will fit a B.87 EX PCB and any chance of an acrylic mid layer or cutouts on the bottom layer for underglow?

I too am excited to see a full size custom board. Personally, I like more exotic layouts but these definitely have their place and deserve to not be forgotten.

Finally! A full size custom! 60% is cool but can't use them at work and still be efficient

Unfortunate name choice as now we have Revotech and Revoteam. Otherwise I think many people will be open to the idea of a full sized custom.

So with the "full kit", I would have to source my own switches and solder them to the PCB myself, and then attach a controller myself as well, is that correct?

What makes you think you'd have to solder the controller?

They've said the PCB development  is being finished, the controller should be integrated as that's pretty standard nowadays.

But typically when buying any kit you have to source and solder your own switches as well as stabilizers.

What makes me think I have to attach the controller? Utter ignorance, to be honest. I've never built out a board.

And frankly, I don't really want to. My soldering skills aren't strong enough to put 108 switches at risk.

But I love the idea of a Peach 108 with a white case and Kailh copper switches. I just don't have what it takes to install the switches myself.

But just out of curiosity:

1. Will one of the case colors be powder-coated white?

2. What functions will the controller assign to the four keys above the numpad by default?

With the full kit, you only need to solder the switch and LEDs and we are good to go. If you want we to assemble it for you, it will cost you a little bit but you don't need to worry abt anything :D

It support the Wkl B.87 EX layout and the angle of the case is 10.5 degree

1. There's an option for paint it in Pearl White but since it's too expensive we think we will skip this idea until we can make it easier for everyone.
2. It will be volume up/down, mute or you can map it whatever you wanted to.

Pictures update: This's the prototype without polishing or any surface treatment process, I will update more pictures after everything's done!

I will definitely keep that in mind!

Okay, I'll wait for a future round where white becomes an option.

Thanks!

It support the Wkl B.87 EX layout and the angle of the case is 10.5 degree

It looks like the B.87 EX2 supports pretty much all the layouts one might want!

Please consider a lower angle (6-8) for the future one day!
