DSI tends to fly under the radar these days.  Back in the beginning of GH, they were one of the great hopes in mechanical keyboards.  The Modular was supposed to be a coup in keyboarding with customizable attachments, but delays really kept this 'board from taking off.

T'morrow, once they dry, I'm putting my WYSE thick doubleshots on my WASD instead of my WYSE thin ones.

The tenkey, and arrow keys are still thin, as the thick ones are retrobriting now (batch 3!)

Also, DAMN, peroxide does burn! My thumb and forefinger are almost completely white, and get a worrisome tingling, but it was worth it!

Don't think I can hotlink or do attachments since I'm a noob on the forums. This is a tenkeyless Majestouch 2 w/ cherry blues

imgur.com/a/H8Gsx

Crappy cellphone camera. Used all my money on keyboard and accessories.

I liked Ripster's simple white on black theme so I got some white PBT engraved keycaps from qtan's store.

I really like the textured feel of the PBT caps over the stock Filco's  smooth caps. Now I'm just waiting on the Novelty Doubleshot group buy to  go through.

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can get some PBT WASD or Arrow keys in yellow and/or red.

Despite the influx of Starcraft people, geekhackers tend to be programmers and IT professionals.  Such people tend to dislike the Das' shiny finish.

My take on autumn colors -- two Topre kits for the 87/104 placed on my 86 and 103 (that's why the spacebars are still black)

cross-post from "pictures" forum

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 31550[/ATTACH]
boards: Topre 86U black for carrying around (the black axe). Topre 103U white for office (so as not to scare the little children).
Razer Cherry Blue Βacklit / non-Backlit pair for gaming (so as to scare the other children with clacky noise). Soon to have 87U with colors.

Loving the WYSE: They're from the 840358-ish series, right? Thinner than the WYSE 50, but still awesome?

I want to get me a set one of these days. Of course, the case matches everything: excellent all!

yeh they are the thin ones. Still good man. I think Wyse keycaps are one of the best keycaps imo.
I so wanna try thick pbt keycaps tho.
I bought the Wyse kb from ebay, quality was terrible. :( yellowing was bad, all shiny. used sandpaper and now it feels like ABS keycaps. lol
and bought another Wyse kb from a korean guy. pretty good quality.

My keyboard at work. Originally a Compaq MX-11801 with Cherry MX Browns. Numpad and trackball cut off, keys moved and lines rerouted. Then I painted the case white and dressed up with these black Cherry double-shot key caps that I got from BiNiaRiS.
I would have liked to change also the bottom row, but matching 7 unit bars and 1.5 unit and keys are quite rare, existing only on some rare OEM version of the G81-3000, from what I know.
For a while I used flat and key caps from Tipro, but I found that they looked a bit cartoonish.

The bottom row you need also comes from winkeyless G80/G81-1800s

I might be able to get you an entire set or just the bottom row. pm meh!

Hello everyone.  I'm new to this forum, although I've been reading it for awhile.  I'm finally ready to take the plunge and get my first mechanical keyboard.

I plan to get two keyboards eventually.  I would like to get the Ducky Cherry MX Blue that is backlit for home use.  For work, I think I'm going to try the Red MX Cherry switch.  I think I'll get the one made by Rosewill.

For work, I don't need a backlit version so I'm going to customize the keycaps.  I'm trying to decide on some layouts by WASDkeyboards and this is one of my favorite layouts so far:

I hope this will be the start of a long love affair with custom keyboards.

FYI:  I did order my dad a Unicomp keyboard with buckling springs.  He grew up using typewriters, so I figure this would give him that feel and noise since he does a lot of typing.  He absolutely loves it.  I tried it out too, and think the feel is fantastic.
