RGB Kits
« on: Wed, 02 January 2013, 23:52:52 »
I recently ordered a set of WASD RGB mods and was unhappy with them. Looking for another set.

Regarding the Hashbaz's RGBY Kit - Does it fit properly on a Filco board?

Also, what is a ballpark estimate of a fair second-hand price on a set?

I haven't run across another white text on rgb mods - if another exists that I'm overlooking I'd appreciate a link :). (PBT, or ABS)

Thanks!

There was an earlier white text RGB set from a group buy run by aggiejy.  They use the standard SP font though, as opposed to the Cherry replica font used by mbc's and my sets.

The aggiejy sets are typically $20 or $25, though they don't come up for sale very often any more.  I imagine posting a WTB thread would turn some up.

The Cherry replica RGBYs are usually more.  $30-$35 or even $40 is typical, I'd say.

If you're using the original Filco caps, they will be shorter in height. Aggiejy also had a white on RGB set. His blue was lighter. I think hashbaz had winkey and winkeyless sets. You'd need a winkey set. Someone else might help better with price, but roughly around $25-35 or so.

Thanks for the quick replies.

So the Hashbaz is cherry profile and sits a bit lower? That would probably bug me!

I guess I'd probably be after the aggiejy set to fit the profile of the stock Filco keycaps.

Appreciate the help.

They're both SP profile, which is similar to Cherry profile but with some differences. Either way, both will be shorter than Filco caps. For OEM profile RGB, the only I can think of would be NIQMODS and those won't have legends and will cost you more if you can find.them.

If you need to match the profile of your stock Filco caps, wasdkeyboards.com might be an option.  But the legends won't be white.

Yeah :(. Unfortunately I wasn't really happy with the WASD keycaps. Really looking for white legends and something that matches the profile. Oi!

I might end up having to replace the keycaps, and then add some RGB later, haha.

Doubleshot, no. Auto painted, yes they're called NIWMODS, but they won't come cheap.

I very much doubt it. I am not sure where they would come from.

You folks are probably better off buying a cherry/sp profile keyset first.

I was surprised how much I liked how these looked on keyboards. I would buy another for sure!

Thanks for the tip. I am looking for white legends though. Another member on the forum actually saw this post and is selling me an SP set.

Thanks for all of the help everyone!
