You should try it you might like it, and while your at it take your spacebar spring and put it under the backspace. Just be careful you don't break your space bar stabilizers removing it.

what i propose is this, a selection of cutom titles for owners of happy hacking keyboards, no i am not merely suggesting one title, there is a pecking order, but anyone who gets a title, will be easily identifiable to other forum members as the best of the best
the titles i suggest are these
HHKB Master (your leader)
HHKB Overlord (the real leader)
HHKB ELITE (Type S users)
HHKB Pro (Pro users)
HHKB Jp (jp users)
HHKB Scrub (lite users, yes i didnt forget you)
the way the forum currently stands, it takes a lot of research to find out these god tier keyboard users, and we are hindering ourselves as a community

The D-Squad gave me an HHKB Pro (Charcoal) for Christmas which completely blew me away and came as a complete shock. I need to write it up, but I haven't really been able to dig deep into the board given the form factor and the the fact that the black-on-black keys make the adjustment a bit daunting.
My work load has been quite heavy so I've only be able to use the board for an hour here and and hour there on Sundays. I love the feel of the board, but I can't say that I've become a complete convert just yet.
So does that quality me as "Pro-curious?" :p
Amazing gift and amazing board. You just need to dive in, I took mine straight to work and just had no choice but to use it, first day or two was a little frustrating but since then it's been all glory. I found the adjustment to the backspace position really easy and even the arrows adjustment was not that difficult. Took me a little while to get used to the ctrl position especially with many key combination shortcuts (use ctrl a lot in photoshop, in conjunction with other keys).
Amazing gift and amazing board. You just need to dive in, I took mine straight to work and just had no choice but to use it, first day or two was a little frustrating but since then it's been all glory. I don't know that the layout is the issue as much as the black-on-black key caps. Again, I don't look at the keys much, but I do use them for punctuation and numerals and since I keep my office dimly lit, I find that there's too much "friction" in getting used to the board.

If you know someone going to Japan, or you don't mind proxing using tenso, amazon.co.jp are selling the key caps for just $45. I bought BOTH blanks and printed white-grey thinking that hey, I could buy two sets compare to if I bought from EK.

I am curious why you have so many HHKB? I mean... it's not like one is different from the other. Even if you went and own each of them, it would just be 4: white and white type-S, black and black type-S. I can understand if they have various switches or colour or something like the RF.. but 10 HHKBs!? You, sir, are the new HHKB God!

This isn't the case. you can contact the mod team or myself for title changes (it's the only mod power I'm allowed to execute on my own). But if you're contacting me, I demand bribes in the form of ice cream :P
