been waiting for this.

though price will be higher than (say) a cherry 3700, its because of the excellent case. I am basing estimated price on the price listed on kbd4u.

The price will be around $145 depending on quantity.

Viper is nice.  I think it will come in either a full 60% and a HHKB style layout case..

But quick question, why do they look so damn similar to the fmj case?..

I don't have any details on the Viper.  FMJ design might have inspired duck to make a similar case with LEDs on the bottom? Who knows. :D

The finger holes on the back to lift the case is hardly a new design, I like how both designers are using it. You can also see a similar idea on the pokerII cases as well as KB cases from team redline and OTD

Yeah, as soon as he posted the viper, I liked it as well. Not sure why he went with the top panel like the saver, as opposed to the "tub" design of the lightsaver, but I will admit it does lent itself nicely to a partially covered top case to cover the unused switch positions of the hhkb layout, etc.

Duck's designs are so good!  Love all of them, and the new Viper is definitely very nice.  If you get ahold of those acrylic side inserts, could you let us know, please?  I'd like a couple for my upcoming LightSaver.

Would this come with switches and everything already assembled, or would it be a kit I'd have to put together?

it's pretty easy to find folks to do the soldering , assembly, and programming if they're not things you're into. Most people post asking about assembly in the group buy thread but I'd suggest finding another local geekhacker. then you can either learn with them or at least save the double shipping costs

I really like this! Depending on timing, I'd be interested in two or maybe even three. It would be especially nice if the colors matched or complimented some of the more recent metal cases.

A nice handful of interest here. :)

Switches are not included with the set.

If there are enough interest in the US, I'd like to find a US proxy to have these delivered to save on shipping if anyone is interested in helping out.

EDIT: Viper is not ready yet. I think they recently made that prototype.

I can help with the shipping in the US since it should be a pretty small GB, but at that pricing, I doubt I can justify buying one.  So if anyone who is buying one wants to volunteer and they're reliable, go for them over me obviously.

I doubt it will be able for us to get into the first round, the group buy ends at the middle of January if not mistaken.
For the 2nd round, not sure if the production of aluminum casing is still available or not too.

Why is the viper so cool? Besides the case of course.  :p

Actually, I'm not sure, but the angle is 11 degrees.
