Tis a thing of beauty!! One of the few red/white boards I truly love!

Dirtied up my ghetto greens today. Only for a quick potato pic, then reverted back to full CCnG

I remember that shocker green poker case :)

I love it Boost! One of my first big keyboard purchases, that wasn't a board. You opened my eyes to the love!

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The Poker of Theseus - how far can you mod a Poker before it's not the same Poker anymore?
step 1 - replace stock keycaps
step 2 - do stem/spring exchange mod
step 3a - replace stock case
step 3b - plate mount
step 4 - replace pcb with GH60 or similar
not a Poker anymore complete.

Anybody have any experience with the Poker with MX blacks? My current board is already a 60% board, but i have 2 tenkeyless boards and i just don't use them as much anymore. Thinking about buying a poker, the only ones on MK are with black switches. Also, where do you guys buy keysets if you want varying keys like 20 white/20 black? Just WASD or is there a cheaper route? Thanks.

Seeing as you currently use Brown switches, I am not sure if you would like Blacks. They are much heavier. However, the great thing about Pokers is that the switches can be very easily changed/modded. So with a little extra cost you could convert that Poker with Blacks into another switch.

There are many different sources for key caps. Look out in the Classifieds for sets you like, or join a group buy. These often have interesting two-tone colour schemes. There is some patience required with finding sets in these ways :) And then there are the many other vendors. What exactly are you looking for?

Also it should be noted that if you are looking for half white half black, that will usually require you to buy two full sets and combine them, unless you go the WASD route.

Yes, was looking for a black and white combo, for some of my tenkeyless, and my poker (possibly). The poker i wont be able to order until 2 weeks or so from now, due to bills and such but im leaning toward ordering one. Here is a sample of the color scheme type i like: (Posted earlier in the thread) http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll41/Dark-Shot666/IMG_0661.jpg

Thanks mate :) At first I was a bit taken aback by the feel since I've been exclusively typing on MX Blues for almost 6 months, but it's feeling nice now. Very quiet which is a change and far more tactile than even Blues. Although one major thing I can feel is the fact that it is PCB mounted. I think they'd feel even better with a solid plate underneath them.

In my experience, plate mounted ergo clears feel MUCH better than PCB mounted ergo clears. The PCB mounted ones felt "wobbly."

Half plates allow the PCB to flex, adding a certain springyness for tactile switches especially.

Just went through the entire thread. So much eye candy. Some of you have AMAZING boards. I was particularly shocked with the KBT Pure a few pages back with the IronMan escape. Very classy looking board. Keep it up, all of you, some seriously cool **** in this thread, definitely  going to drop some money on one of these pokers one day.

Yeah, GMC's mostly metal pure looks amazing!

Get yourself a cherry doubleshot set of some sort, they look amazing on 60% boards.

This was my first custom keycap design for my Poker. Still one of my favorites...

I think there's only one that I haven't got, but it's a one-off rose gold version.

I'll trade you an ironman for a black or silver girldc stormtrooper :P
