5+ hour travel time? Would be well worth it. But I better stay away from the M and focus on the F. Way better for my wallet. Anyway, this one will sell for a ridiculous price for sure!

Will still be fun to watch this crazy auction!

It doesn't really matter whether item gets posted here.
I think everyone can go ebay and search "Model M".

I did not think that Lexmark made any detachable Model M's and what seems like free space on the edges is throwing me off.

To be fair, an ebay search for "Model M" turns up over five thousand results.

But yeah, when I saw this pop up in my followed searches for Model M SSK part numbers, I knew it was going to go for a Pythonesquely quite silly amount a fair sum, and I'm sure more than a few people around here follow a similar search.

Get out the popcorn indeed.

What has it been, a year (or 2?) since one of these turned up on ebay?

I bet $650

I dunno man, normal SSK's have been going for $400 recently, would be surprised if this gets double that.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I asked him for some less obscure photos - and this was his reply:

'I'm sorry I do not have any other means other than a camera phone. There are no deep scratches or cracks. It's just a little dirty. Sorry and thanks for interest.'

there are no DEEP scratches? does that mean that there are scratches?
can this guy be any more vague? He could easily just take it out into the sun where, even with a crappy camera, you could still get a much clearer view of the board.
what this tells us - it has scratches, basically, and he wants to take the most obscure photo to hide these defects.

Scarcity is one thing, and pure lust is another. The industrial boards are certainly way scarce, if that is driving it.

Look at the regular Model Ms - if the industrials are going for 10x the price of the standards, this one going at double or triple would be entirely plausible.

Well, it's up to $100 and we have another person doing the "bid every two seconds until I'm on top" just like with the recent fullsize industrial listing.

What you are seeing is automatic bidding from the person setting their 'max bid'. So if you bid and it's less than that persons max bid, it will automatically outbid you. It's not the person literally sitting there doing that.

I thought it was determined the last time that it literally WAS a person sitting there doing that. My understanding is that automatic incremental bids don't show up in the history. Only the final automatic bid, or in this case, manual bids.

"Keyboard pulled from a working machine". Where the hell was this "working" - in a cow shed? Not only is the winning bidder going to be losing a lot of cash, but he'll be cleaning for quite a while.

You know some Canadians.....just bypass ebay, slip the guy some poutine and get a deal at the same time.

You must not know many Canadians. Why do Americans always assume Canadians are eating poutine all the time? In my entire life, I've never eaten poutine, none of my family has and I've never actually seen another Canadian eat it. That's one of those myths, like Canada is covered in snow in summer, polar bears walk through major Canadian cities and everybody is calling each other a "hoser".

Maybe it was working in an industrial environment.

Either way, these clean up easy.

That bidding history is already fun to watch.

Someone bidding 400 over the 105 previous bid. That's like saying: time to get serious and scare the low bidders.

Then he gets outbid a few min later. Still 9 days to go.

This will get bloody.

The seller will never post a decent photo now.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

This is a pretty unique industrial SSK because it has the blue caps.  Too bad you can't really tell the condition of it with the crappy pictures.  With better pictures to prove that it is indeed in good condition, it could fetch even more money for the seller.
