Repairing stem for a custom HotKeysProject keycap
« on: Mon, 11 June 2018, 16:42:38 »
Recently broke a stem to one of my custom keycaps from HotKeysProject that I purchased a few months ago.  They are out of stock so I can't order another one.

Has anyone ever repaired one of these?

Is there a replacement stem I could order?

Recommendations are appreciated.

Can you post a picture of it?

Nice try, Zuckerberg. If it's a custom one then of course it's going to be out of stock.

Can't you pay $5k for martin to make another?

I was gentle removing it with the puller, it  came out smooth but when I looked down I saw part of the lobe still inside the keycap plunger.

Anyone know how to fix?

Do they make keycap stem innards that I could perhaps fuse to the keycap shell if I get the other one out?

Also, I am not affiliated with any Zuck's or social media websites.  Any perceived similarities are purely coincidental.

stem fragment looks like it would just fall out if you turned the board upside down, or with pliers

then you'd have to super carefully superglue it together

if you're lucky, it will fit properly

if not, i think a lot of people own these, probably wouldn't be too hard to find. i even have some myself i'm not using anymore

Thanks all, another enthusiast contacted me offering an extra cap.  Waiting for that.
