Howdy, how yall doin?
I been buildin up a gentoo gaming/coding/workstation rig and it's time for me to choose a good keyboard.
i5 - 3570k
240gb vertex 3
8gb 2400mhz ripjaws
asus 24qe 144hz monitor
tachyon platinum 550w modular psu
a totally crappy dell keyboard i got for 1.99 at goodwill
(it seriously hurts my hands to use this for long durations!)
I'm currently leaning towards a ducky shining II with RED switches.
Is that a good choice? Well, of course it is - but - I'm interested in the /best/ choice (for me.)
I could see maybe going with an ergo keybord instead of the shining II...
Currently, while gaming, I have my keyboard tilted about 15 degrees. Works fine but only when using the keyboard one handed.
Anywho, I'm going to go lurk about some review threads.
Thanks for reading, I'll be around and popping by IRC from time to time.
There are some peripheral hardware projects I want to work on in the future, also, that I could use some feedback on. Including haptic feedback for linear switches using an Arm Cortex to drive a piezo/terfenol-d element.. More on that later.
Cheers,
