Ellipse:
For the Round 2 Beam Spring boards, I wanted to put a production status update all in one post for those reading the forums.  Generally everyone should feel free to email me if they have any questions not shown on the web site.

B104 - first batch in stock (Off-White/Beige, Red, Regular Gray cases).  Second and final batch arriving later this year (the remaining Black and Industrial Gray cases).  Expected completion by end of this month (August).

BSSK and B62 - expected completion in 6 weeks from now (mid-September)

B122 - expected completion by late October

Remember we have 2 months on a container ship after the factory completes them.  I expect the next container shipment once the BSSK and B62 are completed so that every board except the B122 arrives to me in November, and then a separate container shipment arriving in December for the B122s.  Thanks once again to everyone for their continued patience with this project.

Beam Spring Project Update:

B104: The factory is finishing up final assembly this month; I am arranging a container shipment with the remaining B104's around the end of this month. The inner assemblies were completed some time ago but the cases needed a little more time for the issue described below.

B62 and BSSK: all inner assemblies have been fully assembled. Case production is ongoing. The factory has had difficulty meeting the project's welding, deburring, and powdercoating quality standards. I asked them to redo these parts even if it meant a delay and the additional time requirement was longer than expected, which is why it is later than what was noted in July. They need several weeks more than planned and expect to be done by the end of next month (October). I'll probably have another container shipment for this one unless the B104's end up needing a few more weeks (then they'd be finishing up around the same time in October and then they would travel together).

B122: The factory is focused on the other boards so for now they are still making the top and bottom inner assembly plates for the B122's; then they will assemble the inner assemblies, make the cases, and put the inner assemblies in the cases. They expect to be done by the end of November.

In summary, all boards except the B122 are still expected to be in hand by the end of the year; the B122 is now expected to arrive to me in January. As mentioned before, the factory understands the quality requirements and they are working as best as they can to meet them and complete the project as soon as possible. There are no issues with the actual beam spring mechanisms; the only issue at this point is with ensuring quality output with standard manufacturing operations related to the cases.


blackbit if the same key is causing issues, it may be better to replace the module with a spare instead of taking apart the board to fix it each time.

Beam Spring Project Update:

B104: The factory reports completing everything except for 85 B104 cases which needed to be redone due to not meeting surface finishing quality standards. These remaining cases are currently being worked on but need a few more weeks. The remaining ~200 keyboards in this batch are now completed. Inner assemblies were all completed a while back as noted before. Reminder: please pick the Off-White/Beige B104 option as they are in stock.

B104/BSSK/B62: Given the above, the factory is planning for one container shipment at the end of October for these three models, instead of two separate shipments initially proposed.

B122: no change from two weeks ago (end of November completion)

Same summary conclusion as my prior post above.
