Ever since I saw the poly color ring come out from SP, I have been intrigued with the idea of doing a backlit set (very similar to the orange and white cherry legend currently in GB).

My proposed set would be this:  green poly on white alphas and clear poly on green mods.  Tree would be white on poly red.  Not sure if it is feasible to have 3 different custom keys, but wanted to get some feedback from the community.   Profile is undecided.

I know that this is similar to ccng, but still wanted to see if it was doable.

Timing is your problem, you won't be able to get it in time for Chritmas. Otherwise, it looks really good and interesting idea.

Yeah, I know, but at least it would be purchased around the holidays.

I think the green text on red may be a problem for visibility.  We've seen similar problems in things like the Miami contrast, and this would likely be much worse.  Poly or not, I think it would still be an issue to consider.

Yeah, especially since some people have bad eyes and can't distinguish between red and green.

Besides that I don't think this is the right time for a new GB with poly keys. Even the orange and white Cherry font GB is kinda struggling, because either people spend all their keyboard budget of the year already or are simply not the biggest fan of translucent sets.

Maybe you should aim at doing this GB next June so it would be ready for christmas?

Yeah, the green on red would def be a problem for contrast.  So would the clear on green i believe.  As far as timing, I know I am way off, but just wanted to get some feedback for the future.

Red legend on green keys would probably be okay, but for my money I'm quite certain that green legends on red keys would be horrendous.

Also, not really that bad of a time for an IC ... for Christmas 2014.

Be sure to make some sub-sets, like a lang-dvorak kit, and a tk addition to the tk set, and maybe a wk/wkl set of options, and ....

I was thinking of a setup similar to the Toxic set where the Tsangan is incorporated into the base price.  If there was enough interest, those other sets could easily be added as well as ergodox or any other setups people wanted (31 key pad?)
