Well, I hope you are wrong about that cactux, but it does seem like geekhack.org is becoming more and more mercenaryshill.com. :-(
I still think that sharing ideas openly and working collaboratively is a good idea. I would like to hope that people will stop being selfish with their ideas and creativity, and that we can get back to sharing and building the coolest keyboards on the planet. If that era is truly over here, and everything cool is going to be kept a big secret so the creator can turn a buck, well... that'll be sad.
I actually am working on a keyboard cover idea, and I may even offer some for sale; but I'm certainly not going to refuse to explain how they are made, what little tailoring tricks make them work, where to get the materials, etc.

You just carve a blank keycap, make a mold out of it, and then put the plastic in the mold.

I'm in the process of doing a "How to" but not completed yet and it has very very ****ty pictures. Once I get my camera(t3i) it should be up shortly after that.

For the record, I doubt the tapatalk rule is going anywhere. Also, make a big deal of it when you post your how to so I don't miss it. Then I can make my sister make me keycaps!

Got couple of keys made and then my mold ripped. In the process of creating a new mold. Sorry for the hassle but this was something I didn't expect.
If anyone would like to back out please pm me and I will remove you from the list.
Eta: another 1-2.5 weeks

I would understand if it was a lump of plastic that wasn't made for any special reason, but this is a custom keycap that is made by "hand". Absolutely worth it if you think about the labor it takes to make then, the materials needed to create them and the uniqueness of them. In my opinion, of course ;).

Agreed. Falls into the category of art. Appreciate the process and not just the final product (both of which in this case happen to be dope!).
