I would prefer it without the red on black alphas featured in the base kit. Making the alphas the same as the mod keys, would look better to me.

It doesn't pop quite like red dragon, and yes, it is a bit lighter, but it's still really flippin close.

I was super excited when I saw the banner.
But the colors ended up very different.

Personally I would have much prefered the colors of the banner, with that very deep blood red / wine color on the alphas instead of just the plain CR black that it is.
The alt alphas/accent color is also way too bright for my liking.

I also want to suggest using some black-red for alphas instead of pure black CR. Also, accent is too bright, maybe a less bright red. The alt alphas won't go well since it's too bright, from what I've seen, bright red is not community's favorite.

Red is super popular: GMK Classic Red, gmk red devils, gmk crimson cadet.

Superpopular in idea or in sale numbers? Because for sure it's not in the latter. The only red set I saw with good sale numbers is red dragon which use black alphas and dark red mods, bright red only as legend, I don't think bright red are prefered by the majority. Due to red not being a versatile color,  it'd better to dim it down a bit to fit in alphas or mods color or keep it as legends color.

Actially, classic red and red devils hit the moc twice, each was sold in amount of 500+ bases, which is very good for the time when they were sold.

I'd like to thank everyone for showing their support for GMK Blood Moon, it means a lot to me and I'll continue to work hard to make it a reality ;D!

I do want to address that there have been plenty of people saying that they would want to see the alphas in the banner image offered in the base kit so I'm going to be updating the IC form soon to see if we should change the stock GMK CR to a very deep red as I have been looking it over the past few days and believe that it has the potential to be very appealing. I'm in the process of evaluating which color to potentially change to right now but I will let you all know once I land on a color that I'm satisfied with that also doesn't change the vision of GMK Blood Moon too far from where it currently stands.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and continue to show your support and give feedback for GMK Blood Moon in the future, cya :thumb:

I've talked with Rensuya about the similarities the sets have and we came to the conclusion that the sets are in fact different enough to stand alone. While on-screen GMK Red Dragon and GMK Blood Moon look very similar, in reality, the colors are distinct but it can be hard to demonstrate that difference digitally, try as we might. I understand people's concerns and have made sure that none of the colors looked too similar to one another so that GMK Blood Moon would have its own identity and to also make sure that I'm not stepping on Rensuya's toes.

I forgot to mention about adding 2 1.5u novelties for R4 as there are plenty of users which have these layouts, you only need to add 2 1.5u versions of your 2 existing 1.25u novelties at the bottom row.

  • GMK Red Dragon's alpha base color is a lighter black color than GMK Blood Moon's CR which is the darkest black GMK stock colors offer.
  • GMK Red Dragon's accent/alpha text color leans more towards an orange hue than GMK Blood Moon's accent which leans towards a redder hue.
  • GMK Red Dragon's mod/alt alphas base color is a very dark shade of red in comparison to GMK Blood Moon's shade of red for the mods.

You get kudos from me for doing the maths and checking before proceeding.  I am watching with interest, I have ordered just about every red set to date.

Hello everyone, with enough people saying that they would be interested in a deep dark red color for GMK Blood Moon's alpha base color that after thinking it over and choosing a shade of red that doesn't change the vision for the set, I've decided to ask all of you if you would be interested in the change. All the black that you see in the kits would change to a deep dark red if enough people want it so don't be shy and fill out the IC form :thumb:

(If you previously filled the IC you should be able to edit your response to choose whether we should change the color or not as well. If you run into any problems please let me know.)

The dark red MODS are the selling point for me.  Just make sure they really are dark and almost black.  Renders have a habit of looking darker than real life and red MODS would not be right.  Personally I like the alphas to be black with dark red lettering.

Don't forget, red dragon had to abandon the super bright red legends because of the pigment ban in EU. I don't think the final red dragon will "pop" nearly as much as the renders. Same goes for blood moon if they're looking for a bright red pigment.

EDIT: Oops just realized I replied to a super old post before the pigment ban announcement lol
