Until all the kiddies agree to stop throwing tantrums in it.

So...timeout forever.  Gotcha. :))

QFT, unfortunately.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I too want the What's Bothering You thread back ASAP. We should not all have to suffer.

Please, Hoff.....

I know this is ruining the fun for everyone.  :(  I even was about to post something in it last night but couldn't because it's locked.  :'(  (I actually could post in it, but that's not fair)

So how much longer are we all in time out? Infinitely?

Also...

I think these three gifs sum up the last couple of pages of that thread:

Yeah, well, this is what happens when you encourage people to host their profit ventures on your community platform.

Yea, have to agree here, that seems like the root of it all.

Add on top of that problem, this one: Treat the symptom, not the illness; then, you have a happy family.

Well, the general illness seems like greed and mindless consumerism for needless items, so if we can get rid or that, then we'll all get along without an issue!

Something tells me the general public would consider anything mechanical keyboard related 'needless items'.

So lets all use $5 rubber dome boards and just shut this place down.
This, plus the fact that this whole hobby is basically about acquiring something and then acquiring more somethings to fix it/pimp it/upgrade it. So separating the community from those who provide said services is easier said than done. And possibly counterproductive. And you better get rid of the Classifieds section too, since people often make money there.

just for the sake of visibility, no, not really, not for all of us. sure i enjoy having some colorful keycaps but i'm a lot more interested in making boards and supporting projects like tmk than i am in 'acquiring' and 'pimping'. i know i'm not the only one.

+1 for getting rid of the classifieds section  :thumb:

Well he claimed he recently 'moved' to mexico so that's entirely possible.

There are a few accounts I swear more than one person uses. (Unless people are bipolar and/or multiple personalities, which if so is totally fine.)

While I'm thinking of it, is it against TOS to have multiple people using a singular account?

It depends on the region and city you live in, where I live is a very well developed urban area with over 1.4 million population, not dusty at all.

It's really not something that could be tracked, and I don't see a huge issue with it.  If someone wants to share their account, they accept liability for the actions.

While I'm thinking of it, is it against TOS to have multiple people using a singular account?

It's really not something that could be tracked, and I don't see a huge issue with it.  If someone wants to share their account, they accept liability for the actions.

You sure about that?
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.

Right right blame the wife

For gender fairness I blame my husband for **** all the time. Only I'm usually right, of course.  ;)

I agree. I know I haven't been here long, but I think it is important for everyone to know what they're in for up front rather than finding out the hard way later on.  :p

When I hear about the GeekHack exclusivity I knew this post was going to happen. Hopefully it gets people actively engaged in the forums.

From time to time, I have seen surges on threads alluding demik and I wonder who he was, now, after these few years I have been around I am glad I finally met one of the iconic members of the board.
I can almost taste the sarcasm in this post.

If there is some, it is interlaced with the fact that you are well know around here, a sort of local celebrity.
You know how sometimes you're having an okay day and then you get kicked in the **** to remind you your life is ****?

I'm a local gh celebrity is that kick in the ****.
