Kaypro 10 to USB converter? Help?
« on: Thu, 13 September 2018, 10:11:32 »
I'm not sure where to start to be honest. If you guys could help me out that would be great!I do know that it uses a proprietary plug/cable. It's been a while since I found out but I remember that it had something to do with flipping particular leads somewhere within the cable. Meaning that normally you would be able to plug, into the original unit, a standard telephone cable. But users found that if you did this it fried the keyboard. I don't know if this is useful information at all, however.

I'm looking to make a converter so that I can theoretically still use the original keyboard into the original unit, if I get around to restoring it in the future. I can post pictures of the PCB later if anyone is interested?

I really do like the switches and the layout, I feel kinda bad just letting it sit. I'd much rather bring it to work and show off my keyboard a bit.
