I think if you went back to 2013 and told people in 2018 we would have 300 people show up to a hotel in Pittsburgh for keycon... you wouldnt believe it.
Definitely in! Is there any limitation on boards/space? I would like to bring in a few iterations of a project I am working on, which might take up a bit of space!
thinking about if i'm gonna drive down or not, i don't really feel like bringing any of my nice keyboards on a plane. i don't have a car though. halvy u wanna give me a ride?
hoping Kudos and I will make an appearance at this one :3
Might see if I can make it, bit of a long drive from Ottawa, and not sure I have much of interest to show.
Let's talk closer to the date of. I might be traveling outside North America at the time, but if I'm not, we can look at renting a nice luxury car (I can get us a corporate rate discount) and pick up a couple of Montreal folks or something and make a weekend out of it.
It's a 9 hour drive, yeah, but alternatively, I'm glad we don't live on the other side of the world. :))
We are driving to Huntsville that weekend to take my son to Space Camp. Yay for him :thumb:, boo for me :(

sounds like a great time for him tbh
i always wanted to go to space camp
there will always be more keycon
When do we have to RSVP by? I am interested but don't know if I can go for sure yet.
Will there be an area for people/vendors bringing things to sell? It'd be nice to buy bulky items in person and be able to bring them home in a carry-on instead of paying for and waiting for shipping.
Is it typical at these events to find a wide variety of keycap sets and boards for sale? And by individual attendees, or only vendors? Not sure what to expect if I make the trip, or how much cash to bring.

i haven't seen too much stuff for sale at meetups, but it's definitely worth bringing some cash (or the paypal app) just in case
Gonna be selling whole collection and leaving this hobby forever.

RSVP'ed. It's official!

The general rule is that people can sell stuff. I've sold stuff in the past and probably will this year too. It's not the main focus, but if you're looking to buy or sell, it doesn't hurt to come prepared.
Hmmm new to the community, much to learn but this is in my backyard...

YAAAAAAAAY so excited to see you there!

you definitely won't be the only noob if you show up, and the vast majority of the veteran people are p friendly

Alright. Newbie will join. Rsvp'd!
Will d_stilgar still be doing posters this year?

Awesome! Will d_stilgar still be doing posters this year?Yes, I will be. I'm also happy to collaborate this year if anyone is interested. I have a few concepts, but I haven't found anything I'm really sold on yet. I know time will run out quickly, so I need to really get started.
will there be any keycaps for sale here?
Serious question, is there a physical limit to boards you can bring? I'm only bringing 40% boards but I'll have like 6, is that too many?

If I wanted to donate some keycaps, who should I send to? I have a ton of Wyse DCS Keycap sets I wouldn't mind giving out.
Crap, guess I'm not going to KeyCon despite living just across the river from it. :/
I wasn't even aware of the RSVP link / Google form or the max capacity for the event, nor has anyone mentioned or talked about it as a prerequisite for showing up.
RIP.

I mean it was in the very first post from the very start you only had to read it to see that there was an RSVP and you were asked to complete it.

Sorry you missed it. It has been pinned in the discord channel, on this thread, and on the reddit post from the beginning. I had originally not anticipated the attendance to be 2.5 times last year, but such as it is, had to make a cutoff somewhere.
Ah crap, I don't even remember if I RSVP'ed or not..
Edit: Never mind. I see my nickname on guest list. YAYYY
Is there a way to check if we added a guest when we RSVP’d? I signed up approximately a month ago, but now I cant recall if I added my fiancé as a guest and now Im worrying over it!
Will we need to check in now with the RSVPs being closed? I know before it was never very strict but since we will more than likely be at Max capacity, I want to make sure I get in if I'm not there early

Thank goodness! Thanks for the hasty reply; I was going to stress over it all night. Is there a way to check if we added a guest when we RSVP’d? I signed up approximately a month ago, but now I cant recall if I added my fiancé as a guest and now Im worrying over it!
You're good.
Do boards I physically attach to my person count towards the limit? ;)
*Opens trenchcoat, sweating profusely* Hey kid, wanna buy some clicks?
Jk but maybe not?
I'm just glad I won't be needing to lug a big ol' box-o-boards onto the bus.
Although, I am thinking about this limit...
I could bring my 2x1800... or my entire collection of awesome 30-40%'s and take up the same amount of space.
Could I bring my 2x1800, and use it as a display stand for other boards???
Haha I'm sorry, my brain is just churning with stupid ideas for loopholes. I won't push it, I promise.
So I literally just found out about KeyCon from Tiny within the last week. I recently got diagnosed with cancer and I haven't been able to go around and look at conventions in my area due to being in and out of the hospital. I live right next to NYC (20 minutes). Is there anyway to be able to come to KeyCon or is it guaranteed that I won't be able to make it in?
Was I supposed to get a confirmation email? I RSVP'ed a while ago. I think I registered as anonymous so I can't really tell if I made it onto the guest list.
Would it be weird if we started a "for sale/trade" thread in this subforum and people could list the stuff they have? That way, people could make some arrangements and complete the sale/trade in person next week.
I know I have some stuff, but with the limited space I wouldn't want to put any of it out.
Was there an entrance fee for the event when it was up?
Have you confirmed with everyone who signed up that they are "still indeed going"? I mean I know that this has been up for a couple of months, what if some peoples status has changed and now the list is closed off. Perhaps there are some cancellations so that others that want to go can still go?Was there an entrance fee for the event when it was up?
No.

I RSVP'd many months ago, but now I can't remember if I had any guests.
What size index cards will be provided?
From what I've seen already it looks like an amazing time.
One request: If anyone knows who was recording the artisan panel and can have them share/post it that would be amazing. I can help with the file, hosting it or whatever if need be. :thumb:

I know for a fact there was one person in the front row who was recording either the entire time, or a huge chunk of the time. Hopefully he chimes in :)
