Hi everyone, since January '17 I've tried to learn and have been making artisan keycaps since then. My dream is to have great artisan keycaps and share with you all here. This keycap making activity have taken most of my time everyday. I keep learning everyday, from tons of failures, from other senior artisan keycap maker. I love the process of making this keycaps, from how to make a good mold, what is the best way to pour and casting my resin, how to mix color, what color combination is the best, how I share my time for study and make my projects (I am a information technology student ;D ), and many more.

I choose the name, Alpha Keycaps because I have older brother that loves me so much and his name is "Alfa", Bahasa Indonesia of Alpha in English. The other factor is I love to be the first and the best, but that's not the number one priority of me. I just try my best to achieve it without harm other people. I also don't say that my keycaps is the first, the best, and the rest is behind me. Many artisan keycaps are way better than mine for example Navacaps, Clack Factory, Brocaps, Hungerwork, and many more.
Recently I decide to bought pressure pot and air compressor because I can't survive with all the micro bubbles on my keycaps. Those bubbles waste too much resin and it's depressing. I think my decision to save my money to invest in those tools are worth it. Now I have confident to show my keycaps and share with you all.
Honestly, this activity and keyboards community things taught me a lot. Many new things happened in last 4 months of my journey in keycap making world. I appreciate every advice or critic you have for me or my keycaps because I realize, is it still good if only me say it's good but the other say it's bad? And back to my first purpose, I want share great artisan keycaps with you all. Hope I can contribute in this community through my keycaps. Cheers!
ALPHA APE
Hi everyone, I have an update for my artisan keycaps.
This one is inspired by Harambe and KingKong. The idea came to my mind while I was studying for my mid term computer networking test :D. So here is it, Alpha Ape by Alpha Keycaps. With any respect, I don't have any intention to copy other's work. I make it as original as possible and all of the main design idea is come from me with some advice from my friends.
It's start with the head shape. I try to make it rectangular so it looks good on keyboard. It has typical gorilla's face with thick forehead, deep eye, and big holes on their nose. I make some adjustment to the shape and deepness of the face so it will help me in triple-shoting later in casting. The mouth is curved down so it looks like he's between sad and grumpy. The eyebrows are asymmetric to give more emotion and expression. The big ass fang is added after my friend told me and I really like the overall appearance with fang. It just look like more badass.
I got pretty good feedback from my friends and now I decide to post it here so I could have more feedback from you all. Every feedback is important to me because I'm still a new boy here. I always try to improve this apes so I could do the sale of this badass apes as soon as possible. Cheers!

Truly gorgeous... Especially the bubblegum one. I want to start doing this kind of thing (Making keycaps), do you have any tips?
Start with blank because in my opinion it's simpler and good for beginner. First, try to make your mold. Making mold is easier than pouring resin. Try pouring bubble free resin even without pressure pot, because I think that is the best way for beginner. There will be much trials and errors. Enjoy the process :)
They look lovely! Best of luck, I'm sure you'd get plenty of international interest if you were to open up further sales.

Thank you. I think blanks in some way blend more with the keyboard, but I still love artisan too and one day I'll try to make one!
