[IC] ISO JTK Keycap Set
« on: Mon, 29 April 2019, 10:38:58 »
ISO JTK Keycap Set

Information

This is an interest check for a (currently unamed) JTK Keycap set that, for the first time ever, would support ISO keycaps.
There will only be one kit that will include all of the keys.

Profile: Cherry

Legends: Doubleshot

Base Kit

218212-0

Supported Layouts

ANSI
ISO UK
60%
65%
75%
80%
100%
1800
Winkeyless
HHKB

Colours

The colours have not been confirmed. White and Black were used to acquire pricing and show what that set would include. We are open to hearing which colours you would like to see and appreciate any feedback your provide.

Price

GBP: £70.82(ex VAT), £84.99(inc VAT)
USD: $89.99

Minimum Order Quantity

200 Sets

Notes

This current set would only have two colours as we have been told by JTK that adding a third colour would massively increase the price of the set (the set is already more expensive then standard JTK sets as new moulds are required for the ISO keys).

This set is still in development and nothing has been confirmed.

The price has not been confirmed but is close to the expected price based on information received from JTK.

Seems strange to not add some kind of international kit.

The MOQ will be about 200 just for the international kit as they will need to make new moulds; this is why an international kit has not been included.

Huh, interesting. I might buy just to support the cause here!

There were still some issues with Yolch legends (see attached), notably the "s" on the "Insert" key is too tall and the kerning is weird around "f" and "t" on Shift. Do you know if they are still working on improvements?

Also I'm not sure we need more WoB right now though after Massdrop dumped 1,000 GMK WoB sets on us. Maybe another classic/simple/versatile colorway? Does JTK have "stock" colors like GMK?

I'd be in for a JTK WoB set. Good to include all standards in one kit too  :thumb:

The colours have not been decided yet, which would you like to see? JTK don't have stock colours.

What about something similar to modern dolch or honeywell?

I am interested, not too much ISO love lately...

Haven't owned a JTK set before, but happy to support this - big on ISO UK.

I actually love the idea of JTK Honeywell. What a great idea.

Retro classic (beige) would be cool.

Or dolch.
Or honeywell.

I'm thinking about getting a rose gold Polaris, and it's not like I can afford to pay $600 for Olivia on the aftermarket, so my first thought was something that would go well with rose gold.  Just a personal reaction, of course.  I do tend to prefer sets that aren't too gaudy, but usually prefer something more distinctive than B&W.  Just my two cents.

Ok, how much interest is there in an ISO JTK keycap set?

The layout will probably be the one above, but the colourway still needs to be decided.

Depends on the colourway, but the lack of ISO was pretty much the only thing stopping me from buying JTK before!

I think their Vostok triple shot set will support ISO UK as well ?

Honeywell and Dolch are safe bets.

Seems strange to not add some kind of international kit.

The MOQ will be about 200 just for the international kit as they will need to make new moulds; this is why an international kit has not been included.

This is why I Would expect it to be part of the 'one kit to rule them all' as you've already done with the ISO enter / etc.

I would be in for supporting a JTK kit that breaks new ground like this even if I'm not particularly fussed on the WoB colours.

imagine a one huge set with all layouts and international kit support. I mean, even if price would go up to 120-150 it would still be cheaper than buying every small kit to cover your own needs. MOQ would be met on everything. This is the way of the future :)

Totally in for this one!
For me a classic WoB would be just perfect, at least on a first run so the MOQ gets done easily!
