DEMOCRAT Oligarchs

--- End quote ---

Dropping down to the level of the Evil Ones is not a legitimate response to evil. As Bernie said "For some reason, which I cannot understand, they suffer from addiction to greed."

Each party (aka "Faction" when the Founding Fathers were bemoaning how horrible they are) has 3 components: (1) the mega-wealthy "puppet masters" of that party (2) the elected politicians of that party (3) the persons who voted the politicians representing that party into office.

(1) The politicians - and only the politicians - bear responsibility for the policies and actions of our government.
(2) Puppet masters, on the Right, under Reagan, were able to commandeer a large portion of "the media" and spread their propaganda and outright lies with complete impunity.
(3) Persons who are eligible to vote have a responsibility to keep themselves informed. That is the crucial component to the survival of any sort of democracy. Who could possibly believe that the mega-wealthy have the well-being of the people as a priority? Only an utter moron.

Federalist 63 excerpt
"So there are particular moments in public affairs when the people, stimulated by some irregular passion, or some illicit advantage, or misled by the artful misrepresentations of interested men, may call for measures which they themselves will afterwards be the most ready to lament and condemn. In these critical moments, how salutary will be the interference of some temperate and respectable body of citizens, in order to check the misguided career, and to suspend the blow meditated by the people against themselves, until reason, justice, and truth can regain their authority over the public mind? What bitter anguish would not the people of Athens have often escaped if their government had contained so provident a safeguard against the tyranny of their own passions? Popular liberty might then have escaped the indelible reproach of decreeing to the same citizens the hemlock on one day and statues on the next."

In the 15th minute, Bernie zeroed in on the crux of the issue.

You cannot continue to use your disingenuous both-sides-ism to "explain" evasion of the responsibilites of citizenship.

Trump is just Trump, always has been and always will be.
But anybody who participates in or supports the MAGA movement bears responsibility for what is happening today.

Not often in life you meet people who are very clearly, sensibly, an order of magnitude more intelligent/cerebral.  You follow the conversation, very quickly, you realize, they don't have the answer to existential questions either,  and that deep sinking feeling sets in, this is it,  I am going to go become a drunk, because this is the end why bother.

Can we start using luigi as a verb?
As in: 'I wish someone would luigi Elon'

I think it could catch on, open to interpretation

It's a good thing you're white, or they'd send you to that new fancy 30,000 bed concentration camp.

Existential questions are, by their nature, unanswered.

Is the environment of the planet in grave danger? Of course it is. So why is it still a question? Because large numbers of people refuse to accept a reality that they do not like.

Great idea!
