This is going to be my first custom build :)
Can I change the colour, after you post pictures? I think I'm going with a silver / white build, but if other colours look real nice I might want to change it.

Does the PCB and plate support a short right shift, so I can put a function key next to it?

Look at those sexy boards!  ;) Yes, SPRiT's PCBs support a short right shift.

Order placed! Not sure that I really need a 3rd SPRiT board, but I can't pass up the purple plate option. I may have to sell one once this comes in...

28 plates ordered! thanks.
To those who just ordered a PCB, i would appericate if you could order a plate too. This was meant to be a comboprice, but since i forgot to mention, i'll let it go.

Anyway, keep orders coming, tell everyone!

Samples are being sent firday this week!

I also have some color samples!

I start it off with purple:

The picture has nothing to do with the actual plate and is just to give a picture of how it may look.

It was meant that the price of the PCB should be 45$ only if you bought the plate, but its just a few orders so I'll let it go. You bought a plate from me last time didn't you?

Any updates on the deadline? And when will the invoicing be done? I'd really like to join, but I have to check my economy :)

Is it possible to run TMK-firmware on these boards? (not a deal breaker, but I use it for everything else)

In addition to the PCB, plate, and case, you would need around 63 switches and a set of PCB mount stabilizers to build a complete keyboard. Well, keycaps also, but I assumed you know that. :)

I contacted the seller of the case that was suggested and he confirmed that he has the clear version of that as well even though it is not listed.

It's a $20 case so expectations are low, but these seem like a good cheap option that can be used until something nicer comes along!

Awesome do you think it is possible to sand it down to get an acrylic led thingy?

Okay, for this case.

Ways to customize it the way you want:

Buy the transparent version, sand it down to get the forsted acrylic look. Face the leds down and get an awesome look.

Vinyl wrap it in any pattern, texture and color you want.

I just want to add that my plate design should be compatible with any 60% PCB available. From a Poker to the GH60 to the GON NerD 60 to the Sprit 60% PCB, et cetera.

No need to worry if this plate will work with your PCB...it will! Just order!!

Yes, just because I have it in the order form doesn't mean that the SPRiT PCBs are the only alternative, they're just really cheap :)

I've never purchased from Aliexpress before, anyone mind informing me how to go about it? Particularly ordering a part that isn't technically listed? Do I buy the case then add a note to the effect of wanting the clear version?

For sure it's not as nice and tidy as Amazon. It sometimes even feels a little sketchy, but so far I have not yet been burned. You'll have an opportunity to add notes to your order, be as specific as possible and don't hesitate to message the seller directly before, or after to make sure they got and understand your order. Pay with a credit card or something that offers a bit of protection. Also remember to be patient, these things are shipping super slow from China.

I've never purchased from Aliexpress before, anyone mind informing me how to go about it?
I bought electronics there once. Air shipping, perfect packaging and no customs fee as the reseller declared the goods as a gift (which, mind you, as far as I know is illegal in most countries).

I'd say 7bit over at deskthority is a great source: http://deskthority.net/group-buys-f50/cherry-mx-taking-pre-orders-t2760.html
Or here in the classifieds. And welcome out into the light ;)

I'm fairly new to this as well, just finished building on a GON 60% PCB (which is similar to this one), and I ended up ordering my switches from mechanicalkeyboards.com. I like MX Green switches, and they were one of the few places I could find them in stock at the time. I also really liked the orange aluminum TEX case they had....
