Modifying LEDs versus Swapping Switches
« on: Thu, 02 May 2013, 08:42:22 »
I'm looking at options for getting a full-size back-lit keyboard with green LEDs and Cherry MX Green or MX White switches.  This particular combination doesn't seem to be available, modifying a keyboard looks to be the best option at the moment.

In terms of difficulty/complexity, would it be easier to find a keyboard with green LEDs, and swap the switches, or find a board with Green or White switches, and swap LEDs?

I have a CM Trigger with Green switches, but red LEDs.  From what I've read on the forums, green LEDs will have different (higher) voltage requirements.  Conversely, if I get a keyboard with green LEDs, like the Ducky Shine 2, replacing switches may mean that all the LEDs have to be de-soldered and re-soldered too.

Any advice from the community?
