BTW, how is a 4mm plate different from a 1.5mm one? Particularly in brass. How are the acoustics and/or feel different?

they sound crisper, in the sense that the tap sound on the plate doesn't linger, and goes away quicker. and a bit deeper. really sounds good.

Yeah - seams like 5mm is doable (Zephyr for example is using that).

Yeah - seams like 5mm is doable (Zephyr for example is using that).
5mm worked with the Zephyr since the PCB was designed with that in mind. A 5mm plate used with a common 60% PCB like the DZ60 could result in issues since, depending on tolerances and layout, the plate could make contact with various pads. But I imagine there are workarounds to prevent something like that being an issue.

I think the Zephyr "only" was 4.5mm it's gonna be dangerous making the plate 5mm... It would be nice with 1mm tolerance on dif switches and pcbs

Also the typing feel will be quite different. The top-out clack will be very firm, and the bottom-out feel will be very hard.

Concerning comments on DZ60 above.  Will this not work with a DZ60?  I would be using it with a V 3.0 of a DZ 60.  Thanks

Cool, I'd be interested in a rose gold one with that layout.

Interested in the first plate shown on the imgur album "64 keys layout, included arrow keys,stepped/normal caps lock" for the new DZ60RGB, as long as plate isn't an issue with that PCB.

Just made an account to express how interested I am in this. I'd consider buying two just to help with MOQ. 60% ansi pok3r layout in either classic brass or rose gold would be perfect for me, but I'd be thrilled with whatever gets made.

During long working/ typing sessions. I am feeling a bit of fatigue with my current boards with 1.5mm brass plate. 63.5g springs, so not too heavy. I was wondering will 4mm brass plate feel different?

I am starting to see the appeal of half plate, but I'm not too comfortable with exposed pcb. Will try out the poly and carbon fibre plates I have hidden somewhere.

Someone earlier on this thread mentioned this plate would be great with a sandwiched case - maybe something like the acrylic cases Qlavier does.  I second that opinion.

I say it again... FIXED layouts please. Swiss cheese plates can be had from every single vendor, we don't need more of that crap. Make this premium grade stuff for people who knows what they want.

If you can handle it, add more layouts but as different plates.

I think having a universal layout would do the modifiers a bit of disservice with the 4mm. Honestly i think you should do a poll and collect interest in layouts, unless the batch # does not effect price on quantities this low and made-to-order is fine. Unless you are partnering with a vendor, i imagine the GB participation will be small.

Noticed any issues so far? Are the sharp corners an issue for case fitment?

I'm really looking forward to this.  Are you going to offer different finishes?  I'd like a glossy, polished finish if you offer it.
