You could even just take pre-payment for the keys and then charge shipping at the time you ship.

From my **very** limited experience this seems to be a fairly common way of going about things and seems to keep everyone moderately happy.

If someone pays for the keys and then doesn't come through with the shipping costs then, in my opinion, after a reasonable period (3 months? 6 months?) you get to consider the keys as defaulting back to you and can either keep them or auction them off on GH or whatever seems right.

I don't think you should be shy of rounding things up a bit and getting a little bit of rounding error as your reward for your time being the organiser of the GB. I very much doubt you could ever make what your hours are worth at work and only the most childish of people really think people should work for free (or lose money as you seemed to have before).

If you are really squeamish about keeping the rounding-up errors then donate it to iMav for site upkeep or a charity of your choice or buy your partner or kid or whoever a little present to compensate for the time you spend on this you could have spent with them.

Extra key caps are total luxury items for those with spare cash and I am confident that most of us are very happy to pay a bit over the minimum to those who enable our habits in this regard.

Don't burn yourself out being so fair to others that you are unfair on yourself.

Anyway, peace and love and heaps of kudos for be a Group Buy organiser lysol

It looks like we are going to make it to the next price tier since we are pushing 50 per style, I need to doublecheck with SP and make sure I have the right pricing. No payments accept until I know for certain.

I've also pushed the order end date out a couple more days, so I have time to make sure everything is in order.

Just realized that I didn't put my order down:

spade - 1
heart - 1
diamond -1
club - 1

Not sure if I'm suppose to send a PM to accompany this. Seems like you're just counting through the posts and PMs will come later when it's time to pay?

Diamond - 2

I'll trust you on your numbers. It's not very transparent. But I feel if you've made additional keys cost less than the first one + shipping, then we're at least alright. The thing was Ordering more than a couple felt like I was being overcharged on shipping. Plus if we're breaking a price break, The price doesn't make me feel bad for my wallet. Hitting 50 is big...almost 50% discount on the keys themselves (obv excluding shipping + legending fee). I reckon we can hit 75.

I'm sorry but I'm still not clear on what colors the legends will be since it was discussed at one point but I don't see a  final decision mentioned in the thread.

Wow looks like we passed the minimum order quantity of 25 per key by quite a large margin (nearly double). Looks like prices are still the same though, so what quantity tier do we have to reach for it to be cheaper per key?

EDIT: oops, I didn't even noticed we already hit the next quantity tier so price already dropped :D

lysol, a suggestion: you should put payment instructions in the OP, so whoever wants it can just automatically order/pay, instead of PM'ing you for every payment and you giving instructions via PM to everyone. It would be easier for all buyers to pay via paypal, then in the paypal note section, put your forum name and what was ordered. That's how I did my group buy.

I'm ready to pay, I'm sure several others are too.

Just because it wasn't really asked before, how do people feel about the pure white vs off-white/beige for the background color? I kind of like the pure white myself but apparently there are other sets which better match the off-white/beige.

I'm guessing these would be the stock caps on Filco and Leopold white keyboards, since the PBT caps from KBC seem to be pretty white. Would just be curious to see how many people are trying to match to an off-white set.

I'm fine with off-white but I like the pure white that was used in the Nyancat and novelty key (white lotus) group buys as well.

I'd rather a more pure white myself, to match the KBC white poker keycaps from iMav's group buy that are oh so nearly here.  Still ok with an off white though..

Yes they have a very white white, use it for legends at least on black keys etc... but I don't think it will match with as much sets out there as the off white/light beige color.

Right, but that's why I'm asking. What sets are we trying to match to that are this same off white? Filco and Leopold white stock sets are pretty much not white at all, so it wouldn't match them that great either and considering that they're stock sets they might even be replaced. WASD's white is even more pure than SP's pure white.

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 40862 [ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 40863

Here's a PBT KBC white, which is not as pure white as SP's pure white. Is that Portal key the off white from SP? Looks a bit darker than the KBC, so it's a question of being lighter or darker.

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 40864

In any case, I was just wondering what exactly SP's off white is trying to match and how many people that are ordering are actually trying to match. I'm fine either way in the end, but all the whites that I have personally are pure white, so I have a little preference in that direction of course.

I have no preference personally, so it is up to the general consensus. My thoughts were for the off white SP color WCK to be specific, as you say Filco, Leopold, and of course all of those vintage sets out there.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to vote for off white since I have a Cherry doubleshot set coming in and I think it will be a better match.

How about grey then, it won't match anything but the upcoming retro set! I'm not serious. They are going to be on some white or another. All these nice people have paid for their keys expecting white.
If all of those PAID people would sound off on off white or pure white especially TaeYoung  (has nearly half the order), that would be the way to go.
