Title: [IC] Out of the Vault - Series II: Vault 101 + 13, Nuka Cola (GB over)

Now that Vault 13 SA Group Buy has exceeded my expectations, I have decided to run a second installment in the Fallout-inspired series.

This set will be introducing two new legends for the Fallout 3 fans: Vault 101, New and Improved Vault 13, and Nuka Cola (for all fans, :D)

Ah, I see, so this will be another vault 13 key? Red probably doesn't work well with the vault 13 logo. If it was a nuka cola logo then it could work but I guess that may be copyrighted. Glow in the dark legend sounds better.

Definitely interested in that. Don't forget to add JD40 to that list...

Well, if I were to create possibilities for spacebars, I would likely coordinate my own GB for them. PMK now has that pesky IC vote restriction before something can even make it to Group Buy status.

I was just curious about the Nuka Cola one. Not sure what the 'official' logo looks like. I am also not sure when to strike with the next GB either. People are just now getting their Vault 13 and Nuclear Data sets...

Don't know what you think for the "rusted" cap, there are so many colors of rust that you could choose from, but I went with a reddish (iron oxide) dull color and a dull gold to contrast pleasantly. Browns and beiges kinda look really boring with the red.

What about nuka cola quantum with gid on bdh and nuka cola classic? I haven't played fallout... Ever, but I would buy them anyway if they were done

I think if we could find a Burnt Sienna color for the keycap but have the legend be like the Petina color of the statue of Liberty, that would look neat. Mogo, can you see about that? I have flexibility with this single legend now that it is a mold. I want to see us take these colors to the next level.

I am mindful of doing something like a Vault 21 or Vault 101, and even Brotherhood of Steel (though of my own vague design) but they would incur that dern $45 new legend fee each.

I think I could do something NukaCola'esque without violating copyright or trademark law.

Yes...all of keypop's keycaps are made by SP. The ones in the picture of the portal keycaps were also made by SP. Thanks Frosty, I actually own those.

Anyways, what if we could get a GLID legend with that blue polycarb over it in SA fashion. Can you say empty glowing bottle? Amiright?

Each in their own series. This one builds upon the last one. The next one will build upon this one and so on.

Concerning faction logos, a lot of detail and risk of trademark infringement is what is keeping me away from them. These are ABS doubleshots with simple legends. Who knows what will be available in series III?

As for the vault 'gears,' I suppose 12 teeth would look great and thanks for the idea. I like the overall simplicity of the vault symbols as they are now. Besides the Series I Vault 13 keycap sold over 200 and tipped twice, so I must have done something right in the initial design.

Thanks for the ideas, future sets will likely feature some elements of what has been suggested so far.

Yeah, I figured that was part of it. No biggie. The caps are so small that the minor differences won't be visible and it's still instantly recognizable.

Trust me everyone, Mogo and I had a time tweaking this legend to get it to specs. IMHO it is better than good enough. Mogo single-handedly saved this legend from being completely lost. I thought there was no hope for it and would have given it up completely. And I have to admit my patience with the tweakage ran extremely thin, if you can't tell, haha. Thanks again, Mogo!

I just hit them with the hard question...it is the only thing that would make any kind of sense. I ~~don't think~~ pretty sure they don't want to extort shipping money from customers.

Much easier to tack on the actual shipping amount to that. I think what they've done in the GB is put a base shipping price on each parent & child deal so that if people opt to buy only 1 kit (like just the irradiated vaults, for instance) they still get a minimum shipping price on their order so they don't get a shockingly higher invoice after it closes.

Basically what I'm saying is that the money PMK reserves when you place your order is rarely what you're actually invoiced/billed for after the GB closes.

My next GB will be the first in a completely new original series. After that one becomes the next hit (hopefully), then Fallout Series III will follow...

...but I am not in any hurry at the moment. Suffering just a little burn-out for now.

Hot dang! It's time to dust off the Pip-Boy again.

I think the Danger Zone set can take on new meaning with a couple of caps from the next round of this on it.... Ah yeah.. From the vault, into the Danger Zone. And of course the Jukebox set suits the period theme perfectly, too. Perhaps some caps to tie that set in, too, please?

Great news! I was actually trying to hunt down some of your Series II keycaps because I think that they'd go great with the upcoming SA Jukebox set (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=71508.0). Perhaps you can include keycaps that would match the SA Jukebox set when you do the Series III :)

Hack'd by Geeks might be another set/colorway that's worth considering, I say worth considering, as it's a limited run, otherwise it's definitely worth it
