Since some folks were talking about badging and branding...

I'm a NASA freak. Since the theme is "Lunar," mebbe an Apollo 11 Eagle badge? Or. something similar? Perhaps more of a grey theme, to go with the colors of the lunar surface?

Just ideas.

Thanks for  listening.

Great curves! The new renders looks great. But I've been wondering, where is the cutout for the cable, is it around the back where the moon logo is?
Love almost everything about the design, except I think the two-tone is a little too much on the back around the moon logo. If that's the final design I might go with one color :)

The "new renders" you speak of have a caption that says "prototype: not a render."   But good observation, Not sure where the USB connection is

They're still figuring out where to put the usb port cutout, the prototypes don't have any cutouts

I don't remember the post but I think the designer mentioned the usb port would be on the right hand side, though don't recall if meant below the numpad, or bottom right when facing the logo.

Updated link to album of the moon prototype: http://imgur.com/a/d9dTS
Stupid question: where is the usb hole?  And what about pcb?
No such thing as stupid question, and sharp eyes!
There’s no USB hole on this prototype.. as we were still debating where to put this USB hole.
At this moment we agree to put the USB hole at the bottom right of the back of the keyboard (where the two stripes and the logo are)
Edit: PCB will probably be from the designer of ZZ96

I think a few people missed him saying that the USB port will be on the bottom right, so I quoted it here! :)

I like this spot. Might be worth doing a render/photoshop to get a general idea of how it looks in different areas.

He said it would be on the bottom right. I just hope the plate is compatible with other PCB's, just in case!

The way I interpreted what was said is that they are considering the bottom right, but nothing is finalized at the moment.

Can stop looking at those photos.  Such an amazing profile!  Those lines and curves are truly a work of art.  I think it looks amazing as two tone brings out the lines better.

I didn't see any sort of timeline.  Do you think this will go to Group Buy status any time soon?

I think some combination of gold, silver, and black would look cool since it would resemble the Apollo LEM. I'm not an artisan person, but one of those astronaut caps would be fitting too.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

Would it be better if we change the design of the brass weight a little bit?

Like instead of 4 just  show one Big moon or something on the bottom of the case

We might be offering steel plates, but then it's just gonna be steel color and it has to hit MOQ (tbd)

Is there any way where I could have a split backspace layout? where the backspace is right above the enter key, and there are two keys where the backspace used to be?

That would require new PCB and plate design. Idk much about the PCBs but if you can get them by yourself, I can check with EVE see if he's willing to make a plate for you.

The slim profile at the front and unique curves really make me want this. Especially if I can get one in that HF color combo.

Yes we are still discussing the color options, trying to cover as many popular color scheme as possible

The plate shown in the prototype allows for split backspace, so the PCB is likely to support it as well. Of course it has to be confirmed, but the plate definitely supports split backspace.

The Company in Portal is actually called Aperture Laboratories, only in the early 50's did they refer to themselves as Aperture Science Innovators, however, I didnt like the look of Aperture_Labs :P

Also, in the end credit song of portal one, the song says "Aperture Science: we do what we want, because, we can." I really liked that quote :)
