Author Topic: [GB] Krytox 103 Lube (Domestic shipped/International shipped) (Read 22915 times)

So as mentioned, I shipped out everything Domestic Monday evening, but it looks like four of the packages are not showing tracking info (Typical usps BS).

International people, I'm waiting on slightly larger mailers, so I'm able to affix the clear customs form envelope (2976-E) and I do apologize for the delay.
In the meantime, if anyone who has experience wants to weigh in on how to mark these I'd really appreciate it. My guess is to mark them as merchandise ($16/oz or $8/half oz), but I don't want to mess anything up and figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Is there any possibility that you can mark mine a bit lower? $13 would be nice, since I have to pay $29 dollars fee on everything higher than 80DKK (just under $14)

I don't really think it matters as what you mark it as, since customs is usually only applied to much higher valued packages.

Fill the customs form out and mark it as "gift". Mark the value really low, something like $3. Customs people won't actually know how much they're worth. Low value marked on there means low import/VAT tax for the guys receiving it.

No problem Mashby and it looks like most of you should be receiving your 103 today. Two quick things to note.
First, the bottle is ~1.33 fl Oz. not 1 fl Oz. The Krytox 103 has a density of ~1.9, meaning your 1 Oz.of Krytox 103 in weight is equal to ~0.5 fl Oz.
Lastly, I forgot to use extra bubble wrap for the two half ounce orders. I put them in baggies like the others and they should arrive safely, but I will hold myself responsible if anything went wrong.

how small was the package for the lube (lol trying not to laugh out loud)

it wasn't on my doorstep and i haven't went to the mailbox center at my complex yet to see if its there.

Now that we're all getting the 103 in, I'm curious what your ratios are in terms of mixture with the 205? 50/50?

Also, how are you mixing it and what are you mixing it and storing it in?

I'd use a dram or vial for mixing and a dropper for adding 103. As WFD mentioned, it's probably best to mix them with something like a toothpick rather than a paint brush.

I'm sure 105 would be fine, but I believe WFD recommends 103 due to its viscosity at room temperature. Also, the 105 on ebay is ~$30/ounce or ~$20 per half ounce.

GPL 105 is a little more viscous than 103. Probably too thick for a nice mixture of grease and oil. And at that point, you might as well just use victorinox for $5. It's probably less forgiving if you use too much, because it might make your switch sluggish or sticky, especially with light springs.

But I haven't personally used 105, so I can't really comment on the mixture. My decision was between 102 and 103, and I was guessing 102 might be too runny.

Also I was curious, wouldn't the Victorinox mix well with the 205 grease?

one more thing, I know the Victorinox is good for the springs, also read that some peeps used the Super Lube for lubing inside the switch housing and it does well, I suppose then the Super Lube should be fine for lubing the stabilizers right? BTW Super lube price cant be beat....

Also I guess there is a way for lubing clicky and linear switches, seems like if you have clicky switches you don't want to lube the tactile leave only the side rails, while linear switches you can lube everything but in very small amounts.
