"Ten Key" Leos...

Me personally, I'm going to wait on the full size models to come out from EK, per Brian's announcement.  Does anyone have any inside info on when that day will arrive?

Because at least I misunderstood the topic. I thought you were talking about some separate numpads that Leopold will be releasing.

Yes, I was actually asking if anyone knew when the full  size Leo boards would be released.  I only have my info from EK, that they are being produced/tested right now.
There would be a release announcement down the road.
I'm going to wait for them before considering a purchase.  The full sized units are prefered around here(home).

Actually, that would be cool if Leo would offer "matching" tenkey numpads as optional equipment.  I'd consider getting that set.

Maybe it's hype but I'm actually poised for the Leo now and the full version but if it's going to take the next generation to come out, then I may just bite it and get the Leo tenkeyless for $99 now.  That may make sense, since I would like to test out that format anyway and what a price to do it.
Oh, and do you think the difference between the Blue and Brown is big enough to try both?  I'm new to Cherry switches and know a little about both but haven't tried either.  I've looked at all the youtube vids I could find.  Seems little difference in sound but feel?
Don't these two variants kind of cover the middle of the spectrum?

I'm excited to get my 10keyless with browns.  We'll see how I like that particular switch and then pickup a full size afterward.  I have a RK-9000 with blues right now but could use another full size at work.

The general algorithm is:

Announced in Asia
Geekhack ZOMG posts begin
Available in Asia 3 months later
MORE Geekhack ZOMG posts
Available on US ebay 6 months later
LOTS of Geekhack ZOMG posts
Reviews appear - like all keyboards some are good, some are bad
LOTS of Geekhack WTF posts as keys wear
25% chance of hitting Amazon/Newegg/OCN branded/Elitekeyboards in a 9 month later timeframe with a Poisson statistical distribution.
Nobody at Geekhack cares any more

We are at stage ONE when it comes to the Leopold Fullsize Keyboards

It's definitely worth getting both especially if you don't already have a keyboard with either blues or browns.

Are the Browns like the Blues, lacking the "clack"?  Otherwise the same "bump"?

Why are "Browns" refered to as "ergonomic"?  Is it because they, at least to me, appear to be in the happy middle at 45g weight?

I would refer to them as "tactile, non-clicky".  I suppose all keys that provide some sort of feedback could be considered "ergonomic"...depending on how loosely you define the term.

Ergonomic in the sense that as the Wiki implies, because of that feedback halfway through the "press", you have opportunity to release the key and not bottom out, which would create less pressure on your hands?  Sorry, I'm kind of slow with this.

I say that because I swear that my wrists/hands don't hurt quite so much and less cramping with my Unicomp vs my old rubber dome.  I mean, an immediate difference.
I'm asking because I'm looking for a Cherry switch board for my Mom and so far the Leo tenkeyless Brown is one of two top contenders.  The other is a Magestouch Brown from Amazon.
I want her to have a mechy board but not too overwhelming.  Would the Brown be a good candidate?  It appears to me at least, to be a sort if nice balance.  Not too light or heavy, OR loud but some click.
Am I on the right thought here?

Well it's Cherry, so the definitions are somewhat curious!

They use the 'ergonomic' tag to distinguish browns from clears.

@ripster:  I've heard the network performance in Korea is a lot like a LAN: hopelessly fast inside the country, but a relatively low capacity in and out-- so kbdmania may be very fast to their own audience, but crawl for us.

Ripster,
I read your "older" review of your Filco Brown board(tenkeyless).  How's it working for your "carpal"?  I'm apparently dealing w/the same problem.
That's why all my questions on ergo and "variable" keys and Browns and especially "tenkeyless".
