MAO coating service?
« on: Thu, 10 October 2019, 14:07:50 »
So I know there are plenty of places to get boards cerakoted and some popular places to get them anodized, but does anyone know where to get micro-arc oxidation coating (MAO) done to a board? I asked the guy at Caustic Customs Anodizing about doing it (who does boards for Taehatypes and Keycult) and he responded with "absolutely not, that requires a TON of power."

I guess I'm just confused, where are all these group buy runners getting it done? I know they use Chinese factories, but there must be a place in the U.S. that does it.

Thanks!

I'm sure that there is a place in the US that provides comparable service to China, but the cost for a single (or even handful) of boards would be extremely costly. There is a good reason that most all of the group buys are done in China, their manufacturing capabilities in many areas exceed that of the U.S., let alone at the same price range.
