So I kind of want this Poker X but I wouldn't have the money until the end of the month. Also the plate is notched right so you could switch out the springs and stems if need be?

The poker is still available, for now, sir  :D
The plate is normal style, so u have to desolder the switch to swap the springs and stems.

I suppose this will bump the thread :)

Anyway, I received one of these boards yesterday, and I thought I would write a few words about it as feedback!

This is the first TKL board that I've ever actually purchased, having only owned 60%, 40% and full size boards before. I have to say, this is a very impressive board for the price. It's full aluminum, and the fit and finish are really nice. The Anodizing is very consistent, and the blue (the color I asked for) is a very deep, rich blue. Just like the photos in the OP. I can't comment on the Quality of the PCB, since I learned that it isn't programmable. For myself, I wanted a fully programmable board, since that's what I'm used to at this point, with all of my 60% and 40% boards.

Anyway, I used a GON NerD TKL PCB with this, and I have to say, I'm rather impressed with the outcome here. This has to be the stiffest aluminum plated board that I've ever used, and I totally love it. The top, bottom, and plate are all incredibly close to being the same color that you don't even notice a difference until you really, really look for it in good light. The only negative as far as color is that the feet don't match quite as well as the rest of the board. It doesn't bother me, since I won't really ever see them, so there's that. (Note: They do match pretty well, just not as well as the rest of the components of the board.

The build process went smoothly (despite my forgetting to put stabs on the PCB at first...) and the whole board turned out well. I don't think that the OP says anything about the brand of switches that will be sent to you, but for my order, I was sent genuine Cherry MX Blues, which is pretty cool. The fit and finish is very good. The right side of my board sticks out ever so slightly from the bottom, but we're really nitpicking at this point, since it's easily less than .5mm... On the rest of the edges, the fitment is exceptionally good. For those of you looking to use a separate PCB, keep in mind that Winkeyless has the USB port in the wrong spot, so you can't use those without some trickery of your own that I think would be rather difficult to pull off. Also, you will want a PCB that has the USB port on the top of the PCB, not the bottom.

I can't really comment on ping, because I installed one of the pads of dampening foam that GON sells, so in my board, there isn't any ping to speak of. I also didn't end up using the stickers on this board, since I wasn't sure if I would like it or not, and I was just too darn impatient. (note to self: start modding the switches BEFORE the board gets here XD)

Really, if there was one thing that I had to change on this board, it would probably be to have removable switch tops. However, I also realize and accept that that would add a significant cost to the board, so at the price that I paid, I think it's an utterly fantastic deal for the quality of board that you are getting.

For anyone that wants to see the potato photos I took with my phone, those are here: https://imgur.com/a/Wtlfu (also posted on /r/MK, and I will also probably be posting these photos elsewhere.

Edit: It doesn't really matter to me, but it is something that I noticed; On my desk, I have a Vinyl Surface on my desk, and when I go to slide the board, there is very little resistance, but once the board sits for a little while, it sticks well enough that it won't move during normal use. I actually quite like that property about the feet, but I'm not sure if that's consistent with other surfaces, or just a function of the surface that I have on my desk.

Im so glad that you like the board, KaminKevCrew :D
Hope u satisfied with my service, too  :)
And thank u so much again for ur order and feedback. I`m sure will improve the color of the feet in the next version  :thumb:

Those are shipping from Vietnam, doesn't it?

I live in Thailand and it's must be good for the shipping cost.

is it would have other choices of switches in the near future or not, like a MX Clear or something.

Thanks you for answer  :D

This PCB is programmed wrong and does not work on Windows 10. I have a few other problems with this case too.

The seller has stopped responding as I have problems; be aware when buying this.

Well, don't forget that you can get the case for $50 off without pcb and you can use your own instead! (that's what I did, which is why I never had any issues on Windows 10.)

Ahh, I see that you used the GON pcb. Were there any issues with fitment into the case? Also, I haven't used any GON stuff before, how easy is it to create the mapping for it?

Pcb fitment was super easy. The way the case is made, the plate mounts to the case, not the pcb, so as long as your pcb is a standard-ish size, you won't have any issues with fitment.

Creating and flashing maps with the GON software is incredibly easy. It's amazing! It took me all of 15 seconds without the video guides to figure out how the software worked, and maybe another 3 minutes to get the map working the way I wanted it. Also, flashing the board is instant, no need up unplug it and reboot into a bootloader mode or anything. You just press save in the software and your board is ready to go.

I was thinking of doing a Filco baord with the red Tex case once they came back in stock on mechanicalkeyboards.com, but this is looking like a much nicer option.

Perfect. Thank you so much! Did you get your GON board with the diodes and resistors pre-soldered? I'm wondering about lead time for that. It'd be nice to cut down on some of the soldering that I'd have to do myself.

When I ordered, I actually ordered a blank board, but he emailed me saying that he only had pre soldered boards in Stock (with the USB port on the top of the board). So basically, he took the diodes and resistors out of my cart, and sent me a fully soldered board.

If you want a lower lead time, I could solder it for you, if you're uncomfortable doing smd stuff!

Honestly I'm not too worried about the lead time. I'll be waiting on Jukebox round 2 anyway, and that seems pretty far off =/ Guess I'll just have to contact GON and find out.

The screws are **** along with the top plate being completely out, results in the worst alignment I've ever seen. Scratches were a bonus :)

Man I am tempted, but the shipping and Gon PCB kills it for me.

$250+$75+$40+Paypal fees = $376

The alternative I'm considering is
Tex aluminum case $148
Plate $49
phantom PCB $32
Teensy $24
switches Already have some gat browns, but I can also get them on Amazon for $38
Stabilizers: iono, $15

So, that's $306 shipped, plus I can use the Phantom PCB which I prefer.

The only thing that is still tempting me in this thread is that purple case. DAT PURP, hmmmmmm

The GON pcb isn't required. You could grab just the case and build it with the Phantom pcb.

Just to clarify: if the Gon fits perfectly in this case then the Phantom won't fit at all. Please refer to this threa (https://deskthority.net/group-buys-f50/ansi-iso-jd40-styled-plate-case-t11302-240.html#p273704)t before you decide to go with Phantom. Gons F-Row is slightly further north of the Alphas than the phantom.

Would a Winkeyless.kr PCB or this PCB (http://h5.m.taobao.com/awp/core/detail.htm?id=44253018064&toSite=main) fit?

Also are you on Taobao?

EDIT: It'd be a winkey version that I'd be putting in the case.

I have changed to GON`s PCB for better compatibility, the drawback is the increased price and waiting time.
I will update a google sheet file for Color/Type checking later  :thumb:

I've only had a Pok3r case, and compared to that it's better in some cases and worse in others.

The screw holes probably need looking at - I'm able to move the two parts around by a couple of millimeters every way.

I do not believe so. The Filco has a larger space between the number row and the F row (0.5u vs 0.25u)

i.e. black case with red plate.

Also are any of the cases available compatible with 1.75x + 1x keys instead of long right shift?

Yes, the case does support both Shift key length (to be more clearly, the plate does support it)
