That yellow enter goes perfectly with the set, I will definitely be using it

Here's the TKL Base Kit with centered legends.  Let me know if you see any errors.

This one also features the "final" custom legend design for the DZ Wing logo.

MUCH, much better buddy.

This what we're talking about, large legends, just like in any Cockpit and the Yellow stands out nicely.

Keep us informed when this baby is going to PMK for a buy up.

Thanks guys.

If you have Nuclear Data Green, the legends will closely mirror that set.  In other words, they'll be a little wider (stretched horizontally) than what I'm able to do in Illustrator, but about the same height.

Edit: I'm mainly talking about the alphas here.

The biggest difference is the numbers, which I just realized today are totally different in the SP font than the original Gorton.  All but the 2, 5, and 0 numeral glyphs are different in SP's font.

Here are the updated NumPad, Wingman, and AeroDox packs.

And here's a sample of what's possible with the ErgoDox using only the base kit and the AeroDox pack.

I'll make other samples like this once I have the remaining packs updated.

Here are the remaining packs updated with centered legends.

It's hard to see in this image but the HUNT alphas are "bump" homing keys.

If these are error-free I'll update the OP with the new images.

I've got more sample layouts coming.  :)

Here's an ANSI 104 "Plane Jane's" layout.

And one with novelties from the Wingman and Dogfighter packs.

Here's a sample Atomic layout...

^ I think it would look a lot cooler with the yellow arrow keys from the Arrow Pack, but I wanted to just use base kit + Atomic/Planck Pack.

And my attempt at a JD40 layout using the keys JD recommended.  I think this is fairly close to what some people are using.

The only way you could improve this set is to include a USB-powered glitter bomb that fires every time you press the chaff key.

Tempting.

Here's an Octagon 75% layout using only the base kit and Maverick Pack.

Similarly, the Duck Lightsaver can be populated using a combination of Base Kit, Maverick Pack, and NumPad Pack.

Love everything you've done so far, just thought I would  make a request for all same coloured F1 to F12 keys, would that be at all possible?

Great if you could get options for all Dark Blue F1 to F12 keys and another option for all Grey F1 to F12 keys.

I vote for full sculpt, Rows 1-1-2-3-4-4 (and Row 3 Shifts until SP has made the Row molds) like DCS, Cherry, OEM, etc. with centred Gorton legends.
There was already a vote and Row 3 SA won greatly

The vote only had 2 options, DSA or SA Row 3 and it was a big win for SA. AFAIK, Data was still open to discussing various SA profile options. Anyhow, just making my preference known.

Here's the TKL Base Kit with centered legends.  Let me know if you see any errors.

ISO is the RAF Pack (UK).  That's the only ISO I'm comfortable doing.  If there's broad support for another language pack then they need to speak up, in here, and tell me exactly which keys need to be in it.  But I'm not doing DE, Nordic, or whatever for 2 or 3 guys because it won't tip, and there's no point.

Look at the last 7 group buys run on PMK.
Symbiosis - NO TIP
1976 - German TIP; UK NO TIP
Evergreen - NO TIP
Think Different - NO TIP
Deep Space - NO TIP
EVE - NO TIP
Green Tea - NO TIP

ISO kits don't tip.  If Euros want their special keys then they need to start supporting more GBs.  I don't know what else to say.

I've submitted the formal Interest Check for approval on PMK.  I'll run the images/legends by Melissa one more time tomorrow, and we should hopefully see the IC appear on the web site in the next 24 hours.  Fingers crossed.  If we get the votes I'm in position to move forward on this closely following Matt3o's SA Retro.

With the new Larger legends, can we increase the size of the legends on the F row to match? Obviously keys with shift characters will have a to be a bit smaller, but I think it would look more even if we increased the size of the F row legends as well.

I considered it earlier, but I think they're as big as they can get given the limits of SP's fonts.  Look at some of the user photos from Pulse, Nuclear Data, Hacked by Geeks, or any other recent SA group buy.  The next font size up is the HUGE font used on the alphas and the mono-legend numpad set.  You can't fit 2 characters on a cap at that size, so doing the F-row that way is out of the question.

SP doesn't have unlimited font sizes.  If we go up a step for the F-row then we're looking at all new custom legends for the whole row, and I don't think this set justifies the huge increase in price.

It was a good idea, though.  :)

Just voted for it  8) .

Really love the way the Yellow Legends POP out at you like it will in any cockpit.  It's particularly useful in dark situations late at night, the keyboard becomes even easier to see and use.

PLUS it's a unique Colour-way, yet to be used here on Geekhack  :thumb: .

Thanks dude.  Yeah, we're in good shape right now.  Hopefully the timing on the actual GB lines up well.  I'd prefer if we don't overlap SA Retro at all, or run concurrently with Jukebox.

Yeah, I'm pretty confident the BFU and GSM combination is going to rock a lot of faces, after having stared at the color chips for hours.  Then when you add the YY legends it really pops like Mike Tyson.  I'm going to see if I can't get some better photos of the chips this weekend.

Based on earlier numbers from Melissa, I estimate this is about a $52 kit @ 25 MOQ.

I made an account on http://www.pimpmykeyboard.com/ just to vote for this. I like it a lot.

Of course it depends on the price point it comes in at (depending on which keyboard I pick for a makeover), but at a reasonable price, I will definitely get this.

(It would be nice to see on Massdrop, actually. It's more detailed and nicer to look at than 90% of the keysets offered, though that's just a personal opinion. Then again,I bought Miami, and I am still not sure if I drank a bit too much wine before I did that. :D ).

Hey don't worry about any previous choices you made whilst under the influence because sunshine, you should see the ones I went to bed with the previous night and woke up the next day, definitely nothing to be proud of there.  You just sneak away quietly but quickly so that no one else can see what you did.

For those looking to fill out a keyboard with these key-caps, well you can't go wrong with buying a WASD V2 barebone TKL or 104 because they offer them with a variety of authentic CherryMX switches, from Clears to Greens  8) .

The times they are a-changin' over at Signature Plastics.  You may have noticed that Melissa announced a new web site and interest check format for PMK over the weekend.  There are some pretty big changes ahead.  It looks like the entire "group buy" format we've grown accustomed to (if not necessarily loved) will be going away in favor of a more customer-centric storefront.  Here's the full quote for the motivationally challenged:

As most of you are aware, we have experienced many functional problems with the PMK website over the past year. This has not only been frustrating for you users but it has been equally frustrating for us as well. It’s time to make a change.

Over the next couple months we will be moving the site to a new platform. Hopefully this change will address the many frustrations you have experienced from lack of mobile access to simply checking out without any problems.

We also plan to make one major change to the site. The Interest Check and Group Buy format has been very successful, making some very creative designs available to a lot of people. Unfortunately we are seeing more and more of these great designs, many receiving hundreds of “like” votes, die during the 30-day Group Buy period. Under the new format we plan to still display designs in the Interest Check, but once they receive a certain number of “like” votes we will move the design into our production cue. Once produced, the sets will become available in our Key Shop where they can be purchased and shipped within days of ordering. This way you decide when to buy the keysets, minimizing the competition we are now seeing with so many new designs being launched at the same time. We would like to have at least 20 different custom designs available through our Key Shop.

And one more change. We plan to pay a 5% royalty on the net sales of each keyset design that is up for sale to the creator of the design. We feel the creative efforts that go into these keysets should be rewarded!

We thank you for your patience and support while we incorporate these changes. We also welcome any and all suggestions you may have on how to further improve the site.

Overall I think it sounds like an improvement.  So what does this mean for Danger Zone?

Well the way I'm reading it, the formal Interest Check that we have up now is going away, probably within the next 24 hours, as is the entire IC system.  They'll restructure it and put it back up in "the next month or two".  And from the wording Melissa used in her email it sounds like we'll be asked to resubmit our designs at that time... and basically start over.  From that point it gets easier, and presumably Danger Zone will be much easier to purchase once the new format is up and running.  I don't know much more than that.  I have a few questions of my own and I've already asked Melissa to clarify a few things for me.  I'll update the thread when I know more.

So... YAY!  New web site and format that hopefully doesn't suck, but also... BOO!  Starting over sucks huge donkey balls.
