split out numpad...ok, fine, I get it. I'm a numpad user but most people would never and there's 1/4 of sales that dont actually care about kitting and treat the base kits as a futures market.

The numpad kits: If you can make MOQ 100 for each numpad, you probably wouldve made MOQ 250 for the one numpad kit (and that, btw, means you better have MOQ 1000 on your base kit as your IC rates must be saying your set is a monster given the current attach rates). Which means you coulda saved 15$ per numpad kit for everyone. Double numpad kits aren't gonna be the answer for MOQ 250 base on the 4th page of Kono, and still aren't for the headline set for Omni or NK which are very different kitting decisions.

Two seperate numpad kits which at least one is required for basic ISO? With GMK MOQs, may as well take ISO users outback and leave them in the snow.

-alphas on the alternate base are illegible, they might as well be blanks
-Please turn on/use a denoiser node
-The novelties look like they might be cool, but between all of that noise in the render I can't see them.
-kitting could be cleaner

It's not illegible, it's meant to simulate the hypoxia when you're at the summit without enough O2.

Jokes aside, this doesn't really make me think of mountains at first glance, though I get the inspiration pictures and stuff.

Kitting needs work:
- mod tilde on r4
- f13
- would also like to see 2.25 shift for 660 layout support, or since you have 1u alt/ctrl/etc potentially a 2u shift for gk64 support (though this isn't super important)

Please change the fact that all of your boards are floating, also consider changing your kit renders as they are essentially stock KRK, it's easy to tell by the shadows going off the left of the caps. The concept has promise, but the IC needs to be developed more. The novelties stand out as more fleshed out than the rest of this IC, though, so good job on that! I wish you luck.

Really, really loving this theme but it could definitely use some more variety, less it becomes a vaguely-Orange Creamscicle looking from a distance. Even if making the Alpha legends a nice Navy for contrast. Maybe one more color, contrasted or soft for accent, as well.

I'm late, but i seem to have missed this. This seems extremely badly presented, even though the idea is good. The renders are below average at best, and that title image kills me. I can't do anything about it, but i just had to vent about this.

Summit is a reference to being at the summit of a mountain and you will experience things such as low contrast, heavy snow and wind. GMK Mountaineering has a very themed design philosophy and will make sacrifices as such to achieve the look. I will continue to look into different shades however, perhaps a slightly darker one for the alpha color.

sorry, gonna be honest - the first deskmat is awful, really not up to standard of something you should be trying to sell. That is not how topographical maps work (overlaps), and the jagged edges and broken loops are a clear giveaway that the designer is not totally experienced with the vector software

edit: wanted to also add that I like the set itself but the deskmats just aren't up to par to me

I absolutely love this idea and think the colors work wonderfully together. It's also fantastic to see you working on this so diligently despite some of the negativity I'm seeing in this thread--that's awesome!

I would like to echo the sentiment that this needs some more work, though. Firstly, the renders need clarity (grainy, can't see legends on Summit Alternative Kit).

Most importantly though, in my opinion, those deskmat designs have solid ideas behind them, but the execution is absolutely inexcusable for something you want people to spend money on. The darker one doesn't resemble anything nearing a topographical map, and the lines are very clearly clumsy and choppy. The linework on the lighter one is a bit better, but still highly inconsistent in terms of centering and line spacing, not to mention the red dots are off in a few places. The boxes that say "MOUNTAINEERING" and "RISE TO THE CLIMB" are entirely unnecessary and do not echo educated design choicest--they actively cheapen the rest of the design. It doesn't help that the icons on the darker one look a bit like clip-art. The font on the lighter one is overbearing.

In summary: I highly advise reworking the linework and using real topographical reference photos when working with the darker deskmat. You could get away with keeping the "MOUNTAINEERING" boxes, but I really think the designs would speak for themselves much more effectively if you left it to just the coordinates and maybe some small flag squares, and getting rid of the huge "RISE TO THE CLIMB" box is an absolute must imo (it does nothing for the design).

All of this said, I'm really excited to see where you take this, and I'm sure that it can be a stellar set with some extra elbow grease put into it. I love those novelty keys.

With renders the contrast is indeed low, visibility can vary from screen to screen. For me, I identify the legends with ease. Another thing to note, the Summit alphas are inspired by what the name suggest, the summit! Typically, when you've summited, the scene is primarily cooler colors that differ slightly from each other (hence low contrast), I wanted to capture this inspiration in this kit.

I'm sure IRL the legends will be very much visible.

You've changed the set's profile/manufacturer and updated the kit renders, but you haven't addressed any of the issues present in the kits (most notably the alpha-colored “accent” keys).

Speaking of which, there's one additional issue in the new base kit: the R3 '@, #~ keys you added don't fit in since there's no ISO-UK support. They should either be removed, leaving only R3 \|, R4 <> like in the previous iteration (I recommend this approach); or they should be supplemented with the remaining ISO-UK keys (in which case R3 \|, R4 <> should be removed). Having only two out of the six ISO-UK keys and mixing them with terminal ISO doesn't make sense.

I'll do some research regarding ISO support. You can expect changes will be applied within this week, likely.

where is second b? some keys are rendered in the wrong profile ex.pipe key. your caps are floating. your renders are blurry, have tons of noise, weird shadows and low quality. in fact i've already given you some advice on how you can improve you render, but you don't seem to care. post an update in an update section (1 post), i know you did this because it bumps up the thread so more people see it and hopefully they will get interested, but this makes you looks bad. i don't wanna be rude or anything, but don't run this if there isn't enough interest. ;-;
