[WTS] LZ-GH (SOLD)
« on: Sun, 03 November 2013, 17:24:46 »
It is in the hands of alaricljs and ASSEMBLED AND READY TO SHIP.

Original GB:
http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=39571.0

I reported in brackets the price I paid

LZ-GH ($354,48)
86key (1.5/1/1.5/7/1.5/1/1.5)
MetalGrey anodized
100x MX Brown switches + 100x 45g springs (€45 + $8)
LED: red (Caps and Scroll Lock), yellow (wasd and function row), orange-amber for the rest
$35 LZ assembly
$15 LED install
$6.75 LEDs and resistors

The total amount is $480.
I ask for $400 including shipping (CONUS).
If no one wants it on first week of Dec. i'll ask to alaricljs to ship it to me.

That will be a great looking board. If it didn't include so much extra I would throw you an offer, but I'm sure someone here will grab it all soon enough.

Would it perhaps make sense to sell the Alps switches separately, since they can't be used in the LZ-GH board?  Just a suggestion, because the price is already quite high to include something niche with it.

Do you know if this plate allows for solderless spring swapping?
I like the LZ-GH a ton, but dislike tactile switches.

It does :)  As long as you don't attach LEDs (or use something to insert LEDs into)--or if you file switch tops to open up with LEDs inserted.

He doesn't have the kit yet.  You can see what it looks like in the link he posted.

Yes it's brand new.
The leds are already installed on every key, to change them you have to ask to alaricljs or someone else who can do this.

How can I contact the guy who has the keyboard for more information?

Do you all consider this a really good board? What are the stabilizers like? I really like the idea of having the LEDS and an aluminum case. I could return the filco and go with this one if its worth it.

EDIT: Actually maybe not. Seems like this Alarac guy is MIA. Not only that I think I'll just keep the Filco for now and maybe buy a redline later on :)

Just FYI alaricljs is not MIA because lately he answered my PMs about this kb, and, also FYI, "this Alarac guy" is a GH's Administrator.

By the way Keytrun, 400 for a LZ-GH + switches + custom springs + LEDs + assembly is a pretty good deal.  I got my KMAC months ago and it's still not assembled because I don't have all the stuff I need yet, so if you are really sure you want a custom this is as good as it gets.

Its not that I want a CUSTOM per se, its that I really like the filco and I'd love LED's and an aluminum case. My concern is standard cherry stabilizers.

My impression is that these customs are basically filcos, + a few things minus costar stabilizers. I'm really curious how those stabilizers are. I was told that the ducky cherry stabilizers were altered and worked well.

I go back and forth. I may just be better off keeping the Filco for now and getting a newer custom later on.

What I mean is it has most of the same features as a Filco.

I honestly haven't figured out the differences between certain keyboards. I chose the Filco over the QFR because reviews said that it was just overall better built. I just get the impression that the pcb really doesn't do anything other than allow for certain features (leds ect) and that the feel of the board has more to do with the case, the plate, and the switch - right?

It looks surprisingly good with that retro dsa set you have in your avatar, too.

I think LZ-GHs are like the step-child of Korean Customs.

I only know that Daniel sold his beautiful beast.

I guess people with $500 to spend on keyboards have other gems in their collection that they don't feel the need to keep them like you or I would.

There was a group buy for the LZ-GH, if that's what you meant by 'them'.

I mean that I was told that, after the group buy, there were a lot of LZ-GH's sold. My supposition is that people decided they didn't want them.

Also, just curious - what's the difference between the GH and the SE? I can't tell really, but the impression I get is that all korean custom keyboards are essentially the same minus the aesthetics. I don't understand what all of these different PCB's / controllers do. They all seem to have similar features, and for someone who wouldn't be modifying / building it themselves (like me) a lot of those features don't seem to really matter.

Keytrun, you should really discuss this elsewhere.  A lot of your posts seem to be questioning the value of something.  If you don't want it, you can always just pass on it and discuss it elsewhere :)

Sorry about that! The korean custom value / differences has just been something I've been trying to figure out for a while and it just kind of seemed contextual. Personally I think this LZ is a beautiful board and I likely would have bought it if it was in black titanium :)

Dear Keytrun you have sent me a PM asking me why i sell this and i have answered your question.
If you think this kind of keyboards are not worth just don't buy it.
This is a private sell, so please go somewhere else, maybe in the keyboards subforum.
