Clicky white Alps?
« on: Thu, 05 February 2009, 21:52:04 »
I need to do some numeric entry so I poked around some old numeric keypads stashed in the attic. This one had a nice feel to it, as well as being tactile with a click. The switch is labeled Alps with a white stem. Is this a sample of the clicky white Alps used in the Northgate or some other switch. Are there any cheap keyboards I could harvest these from?

These are definitely the celebrated clicky white ALPS. You might be able to find them in a Focus FK-2001 keyboard though it is a crapshoot as many FK-2001's have fake ALPS.ß

The only way to tell if it is real ALPS or not is to take the switch apart.

They aren't.  By proper, I assume lam means bigfoot ALPS.
Can't get enough of them ALPS
