Yup, therapy needed here too. Still got the upcoming sale though, Ribbits will be at the top of my list!
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

So who won? Apparently not all the kids waiting up for the news!

Just glad I'm out at the cottage. The only use for bots here is fish bait! Speaking of....wonder how many fish I could catch with a reaper.....

I imagine toxic reaper would scare them away.

Lets wait for Bro Caps to announce the winners in the thread. More fun that way I think.........  :-X

I've had luck with glowing jig heads, I reckon a walleye would suck a toxic reaper up instantly!

Haha , maybe you are right. Nice to be outdoors man. I used to fish with my brother all the time as well. But in between work and his kids, we never find the time anymore.

Not sure if I would use keycaps  :D, but we have used some rather creative bait in the past.

Am I the only one who finds it interesting that we have so many entries in the contest thread but then not many coming here for therapy? It's like everyone's jimmies are not rustled anymore.. Maybe there's the sale to look forward to.

Congrats to the winners, those caps look incredible!

I'm still pretty new to customizing mechanical keyboards, and don't have any keycaps yet, but I'm hoping to pick up one of the Brobots in the upcoming sale to put on my Poker II when it arrives =)

Keep at it my man.

I was the other one. Was pretty thrilled since I have been eyeing these v2's since they were first made. There is something about the clean design, the chunkyness, the fact that it is still shaped to function well as a keycap, and the distinguishing feature that the sides are also "sculpted" that makes me love these. Not to mention that some of the colors and materials these come in are absolutely rockin.

I did not say anything before because I thought the main thread would be updated with the winners.

When I get it , I will try to get the best pictures I can of the Subject 22 topre Brobot v2.

I sure hope your potato is better than mine, cause my pics come out terrible. When the girlfriend returns to school in September she'll have access to DSLRs as part of her program and I'll get her to take some nice shots, but until then it's gonna be grainy and poorly colour balanced from me unless someone has tips for getting the most out of a Nexus 4 camera.

I do not have a fantastic camera, but I think I have always been able to get good pictures that give a good indication of the true color of the cap. I think the biggest "tip" is to use natural light. Even with a fantastic camera you will struggle making any worthwhile pictures in crappy artificial light. Take them outside if you have to XD. You are not doing it correctly if your neighbors have not already seen you outside on your knees, carefully balancing a keycap in the sunlight to get that great picture.

I know this will probably sound like the most circle-jerky comment ever, but I just want to take a second to recognize the *huge* amount of time, effort & expense Bro must have gone through to offer this latest Toxic V2 sale.

I'd guess an astounding amount of product was crafted to create a whopping 23 variants, even with just one final cap per variant/stem - which I personally don't think is the case for at least several of the designs (but that's just my own opinion!)

Bro Caps - I know you've said you don't want to make this a full-time job, so please have my sincere thanks for giving your craft what seems like full-time attention so the rest of us can have a chance to enjoy your little sculptures. I hope it brings you as much joy as it does the rest of us geekhackers  :p

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yeah I was pretty stoked to see so many options. I just hope I get a Ribbit or a Reaper, the Noxious V2 was pretty sweet too.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

They aren't cheap but I'd rather see Bro get a larger cut in the initial sale because he's missing out on the silly amounts of money people are charging for these on the secondary market. If the demand is that high I'm just happy he hasn't gone north of $60 a cap.

I agree with this. This way, the money goes to the producer and not to people out to make a quick buck. I also think that people will be less tempted to join sales with the intention of reselling because the higher prices greatly reduce the potential for arbitrage. For example, I ordered 4 caps. If I get a chance to buy them, that means I am paying around $200. Someone looking for a quick buck might not be willing to do that. Especially considering selling of novelty keycaps for large markups has become increasingly frowned upon.

I love the selection that we have here. I also just like the craftsmanship with which they were made. If you look at the caps made until now, you really see an evolution of quality and technique. As much as I like the other caps, the V2's in design and execution are pretty special, with perhaps their coolest feature being the details on the sides of the keycap. Something you do not see very often.

Something you do not see very often.

i cant speak for bro on the price

but here is my input

when comparing the current prices to before, its not so much that the cost per cap has gone up, but that the additional cost per cap reflects the new materials and extra work that has gone in to these parts, almost every cap available in the sale is at least a 2 shot, with many requiring very intricate work, the only single colour cap for sale, also has a new glow in the dark material, which is seriously something special

rather than churn out a bunch of simple, set it and forget it single colour caps, a ton of thought and effort went in to each to offer this range, and i just think the prices reflect that

also of note, i would expect with the more intricate designs, there are also more cast offs that dont make the grade and arent up to bros very exacting standards
I'M IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING RIGHT NOW, WILL BE BACK AROUND SOON

Can't disagree that the quality and effort are apparent in the latest runs of caps. I managed to acquire a THC v2 recently and I'm absolutely stunned at how good it looks in person. I can only imagine how nice something like the virulent is going to look. The shades and combinations of colour are really something special on this round.
