Keyboards / Re: Unpopular Keyboard Opinions
« Last post by zslane on Wed, 01 May 2024, 11:02:59 »
How often do we see keycap sets offered today with the kind of layout flexibility that the old 7-bit group buys used to offer? In settling on the Model M color scheme as the basis for keycap sets, we've sacrificed flexibility in favor of reduced cost (and production time). Maybe that's a reasonable trade-off for most folks, but I'm sure glad I got all my Round 6 CADET and HONEY keycaps when I did.

OMG, frostpunk is sooooo sad..  First game, evry'1's dying cuz Tp4 didn't build out in the right order.  He didn't know people needed food.

Is it good? I always wanted to try it.

It's really good. You can feel the chill in your bones.

Awesome, that's what I like in winter games, so you can feel the cold :D
Should go with first part, or new one, Frostpunk 2?

Hello everyone,

After the previous introduction of our four custom keyboard IC posts,
I believe you have a particular understanding of our products.
Today, I will introduce our official V-series project to you. Let's find out more details below.

First, we would like to introduce the five types of switches in the V series.
Mature and reliable suppliers manufacture them, such as Tecsee, Haimu, and Bsun, and the switch mechanisms' color schemes can match the color of our custom keyboards,
able to satisfy the customers' mainstream needs in the market.

Second, we will briefly introduce the main highlights of these custom keyboards to better acquaint our new members with our project.

Highlights

Ball Catch Structure(except Vpad)
---
We have adopted a suitable ball catch for the keyboard case, which can be symmetrically distributed on the shell.

Magnetic Connector
---
Able to simplify the assembly process.
We customized and opened molds for the fixed silicone at both ends of the daughter board,
which were designed with limit points to stabilize the inner liner connection.

3 in 1 Mount
---
It can support PCB GASKET, Plate GASKET, and TOP mount.
You can customize your keyboard structure.

Anti-collision silicone
----
It avoids the hard contact between the top and bottom cases when assembled,
significantly reducing the case's resonance and hollowness.

Silicone column
----
We have designed six specialized silicone columns around the bottom case to prevent scratches
and scuffs when you quickly disassemble the keyboard.

Tri-mode HS PCB
----
wired, Bluetooth 5.0, and 2.4G mode. 1.6MM Non-flex, support QMK/VIA.

Price

Firstly, we did not achieve this price by compromising quality.
Secondly, we made great efforts to strictly control costs and sacrificed our profits to offer this price.
We can confidently say that you can definitely not find a custom keyboard kit of the same quality at this price point.
Of course, we also offer bundled pricing during the Group Buy (GB) period, and the price will revert to the original after the GB ends.

Shipping

We will also provide the sea shipping method to the US market,
and the shipping fee is very cheap. You don't need to worry about it.
We will work with local vendors for other regions to save the shipping fee.
More specific details will be updated soon.

Just a thought, if you're gonna straight up copy the waffling60 PCB source, you might wanna honor the open source license instead of presenting the PCB as your own work :thumb:

In the works! I hope to have that ready for the next week's update. What mount would you like to hear first?

Keyboards / Re: Need help finding gold color case
« Last post by Exquite on Wed, 01 May 2024, 10:17:36 »
Neo80 has a neat champagne color.

Yeah the Neo80 champagne color does look good & should give OP what he is looking for. I was gonna say the Ouro colorway that was done on a few Rama boards would be another one. I got a Jules in it & it came out way more goldish than brown.
(Attachment Link)
Then another one that came to my mind was the goldish color Hiney used on some of his boards. Can't remember the name of it I think the RAL was called beige champagne or something along those lines. It should pair well with Aluvia.
(Attachment Link)
The last one I was thinking was the goldish color the Aaru TKL & 65 came in.
(Attachment Link)
The Neo80 would probably be your best bet for price & availability, any of the other boards I mentioned would have to be gotten 2nd hand.

The neo80 looks clean but oh my, the ouro colorway looks fresh as gold!! Thanks man!!

You are both correct the PCB is based on the waffling60. It is a great starting point for what I was looking to make, as Cip mentioned. I used the most recent rev as a base for this pcb which I believe is not verified yet. I also have made a good amount of edits to the PCB where changes to the firmware need to be made. Also I converted the project to KiCAD 7, which should help more makers as its easier than Altium.

I am still working on the PCB. I had not made a statement yet about the PCB because it is not finalized yet. I have a good amount of people asking for solder and different layouts as well. Still trying to figure the plan. Once the final version of PCB is confirmed, the files will be available as per the license agreement and to future-proof the project.

With that said, I should have made a comment on the PCB framework right away, 4pplet deserves that for their great work. I am sorry for this as it would have made me mad as well. It was not my intention to mislead, just have had headaches in the past stating features of a product that where not set in stone and then having to change them.
