Regarding the last 5%:

I really didn't had more energy to deal with an extra production to make up for the parts that weren't good. To the last 5% I offered to migrate their order to SKB2, most took this offer. Some preferred a refunded. One or two are still undecided. Soon I can call this GB concluded (feels like 99% now).

SKB GB feedback form

So far 97 have filled out the form. That's about half of the participants. I hope the rest will find the time to fill it out too. There are also quite a lot who have not jet build their board - this will hopefully also change. The link to it was sent out via email.

Here are some results (attached):

New year, new me right?  Maybe I'll post some stuff this year.  I've been working in my 60, switched to brass screws with SA 1965.

Does anyone else have the problem that the bottom plate is slightly bent? The top left foot of mine doesn't touch the table, making the keyboard slightly wobbly. I tried bending the plate itself into shape but to no avail, it just doesn't move.

I have the same problem. If you use a desk mat you won't really notice it. The only time I did was when I threw my mat into the washer.

I checked evey single piece before wrapping and packing, they layed all perfectly flat on the table. What may be the problem with yours is that the flanges on yours are not perfect. That may lead to the screw holes not being perfectly aligned and when putting it together you introduce tension which leads to a slightly bent bottom. If that is in fact the case, then you could resolve this by widening the holes on the sides of both the top and the bottom part (probably not the ones for height adjustment, because they are so close together). This way you would get rid of the tension.

which versions do you all have?

I ended up separating the bottom plate and the plate itself is kinda warped. I tried applying force in the opposite axis (rear left foot doesn't touch table, so I applied downwards force at the front-left/rear-right axis) but it didn't move a bit. I think about applying even more force but am worried that it'll break the bottom plate.

I have the SKB60 ortho.

I think you're right. So I noticed my SKB top case would depress if i bottomed out really hard, which caused me to over tighten the screws and create that tension which is causing the bent plate. Personally, the problem is not big enough to risk damaging the case by drilling a bigger hole.

My only problem is that the top part of the top case (the part that overlaps the bottom piece when assembled) is not bent properly. The left side is bent at 90 degree angle while the right flares out a little more. Would you recommend bending the right side by hand to fix this?

I have an SKB60 standard layout.

@Draic the foam is from MkUltra https://mkultra.click/products/ and dampens the sound of the board ... although I didn't do a before after test. For the additional weight I added wheel weights https://www.amazon.com/Wheel-Weights/b?ie=UTF8&node=15706791 and glued them to the bottom case - gives the board a nice heft ;)

@3ambutter unfortunately I don't have a proper mic. It sounds similar to this
feature=youtu.be for the alphas but especially all the mods sound (more muted) different because of the antivibration mod.

GB concluded!

I had two packages still laying around here that were returned to me (not picked up or wrong address). Gotta admit I forgot about them for a while. Due to corona I had some more time and finally took care about those two. They were the reason I couldn't call this GB concluded.
Now I finally can :)

From those last 5%, some switched to SKB2 and some got a refund.

Overall I'm surprised that from roughly 200 packages, only three in total were returned to me. To my knowledge, all the rest arrived well. Some of you may remember how finicky I was regarding the addresses. With quite a few I wrote a few times back and forth just to make sure the address format was correct. Looks like that effort wasn't for nothing. Managing all your data via google sheets got quite messy in the end but it did work out.

Future service:
Anyone who owns an SKB (via GB or second hand) can always contact me in case he wants to get a custom plate, I'll make the DXF file (free of course).

Final note:
A lot didn't go as planned which lead to quite a few delays. The support from all of you guys was outstanding and a huge motivational factor that helped me push trough. I've learned a lot and this experience will help with future projects.

Huge thanks to all participants!

Looks like I'm fairly late lol :)

Through a series of mistakes on my part (and lazyness), I just got mine properly finished this week.

The keycaps were ordered in 2017 so it's been a long process :D

Has any of you guys gone with the 'soft' standoffs as shown by Plastik earlier in the thread?
I'm wondering whether to give it a shot... Thankfully these can be changed even post-build but it's always worth asking!

Which color you have choosen for the case? I also ordered KAM Wraith and I‘m not sure which case colour of SKB2 will fit well with Wraith. Grey or classic black. It seems that the grey of SKB1 and SKB2 is different.

My SKB60 with Boardwalk and, let's be fair, a ton of foam, is my best feeling and sounding keyboard by quite a lot.
This isn't a board for flex lovers. But I am not one, so that's perfectly fine.

Also just how good is Boardwalk? I think I'll want another one eventually...

@pott ... yes I have them. Definitely recommended, gives a much nicer and more consistent type feel. On my second SKB I did this (donut) mod shown here:

I ended up doing it :) I got the standoffs advised by Plastik and it worked a treat. I didn't try it without them, though.

Interesting fact: if you use any decent PC case and didn't use a lot of the hard-drive cases, the screws used to secure HDDs/SDDs are the exact ones that fit the rubber standoffs. I didn't need to order any.
