spray painting a filco
« on: Mon, 04 November 2013, 10:05:58 »
Hi I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I've been toying with the idea of spray painting my filco, I'm guessing that I would have to take it apart and this would cause a void in warranty? I was wondering if there was ways that people have found how to avoid doing this,

You can definitely spray paint your Filco, if you wish to do so. I know that user Photoelectric had done that to at least one of hers.

But yeah, you will want to disassemble it before attempting to paint it, so that you can paint only the case (and only the outside of the case at that). You will probably want to sand it first, to prepare the surface for the paint.

Around here, most people aren't too concerned with warranty issues. If something breaks, they either fix it themselves, or find someone who can fix it for them. :)

Edit: Be sure to check this out.

But it WILL void your warranty.  There is a warranty sticker on the back and you have to break the sticker to remove the screw that will allow you to remove the top cover.
